Unfortunately for Despaigne he got exposed pretty bad last night in St Louis. He went from potential top prospect to the back of the line in 15 minutes. He is now going to have to fight his way back to being relevant. Sucks for him but clearly he needs ALOT more experience.

You do have freak athletes at heavyweight that are young, first example being Tom aspinall, he's 30 with the best striking in heavyweight and has great grappling and wrestling, most importantly, Tom aspinall moves as fast as a welterweight at the gigantic size of 6ft 4.25 and 262lbs. Another freak athlete of HW is ciryl gane, 6ft 4.5 and 248lbs. You could also maybe count jailton almeida as a freak athlete, he's 32, 6ft3.5 and 241lbs.

I want you to look at the current Heavyweight field, then look up the guys Aspinall has beat... Nothing impressive at all. Gane is good but can't wrestle, Jon Jones is close to retiring. The division is trash. Aspinall not fighting Gane at all when Gane was one of the best in the division until Jones exposed his wrestling is ridiculous. Now I don't think you watch the ufc at all if you don't think Tom is a freak athlete, I mean just watch any of his highlight compilations on KZhead. Thing is, Tom is pound for pound faster than ciryl gane, I mean Tom weighs in at 262lbs and ciryl gane weighs in and 247lbs... so most of the times Tom weighs 15lbs more than ciryl, and yet he still moves faster. You don't think Tom is a much better fighter than ciryl gane? Let me tell you something: Tom dominated alexander volkov on the feet using his SUPERB striking, and ended up arm barring volkov in the first round after destroying him on the feet, Tom aspinall has also dominated Sergey spivak in under 2 minutes winning an easy KO again, in the first round like all of the fights in ufc went except andre arlovkski who made it to the 2nd round with Tom but still got submitted anyway 😂... Now compare the way Tom destroyed alexander volkov, and Sergey spivak, and the way ciryl gane beat alexander volkov and Sergey spivak. Tom beat both volkov and spivak in the first round by domination on the feet and on the ground, whereas ciryl gane had to take alexander to the FIFTH ROUND and secure a decision win AGAINST SOMEONE WHO TOM destroyed in 1 round. Against sergey spivak ciryl gane found a TKO at the very end of the 2nd round.
