Lyrics:
Take a breath
Take a step
Blend in with the rest
I am made for only one purpose
I had always known I’m worthless
Just a trophy from a mission well done nothing more
I could try my luck and escape
To anywhere away from this place
But all the sins I committed cannot be ignored
Time moves forward
Time goes on
It does not yield
So I must stay strong
I’ll find a reason
To see the sun
Rise one more day
Just before I’m done
No matter how hard I try I can’t change the monster that I was
Even if I happen to find I’m fighting for a better cause
I’ve known since long ago that soon I will reach the end of my road
So till my time has come I’ll just keep roughing it up like a rogue
Anyone could have intervened
When the world had tried to break me
But instead I came out stronger than ever before
I believed it would be better
If I chose to break that tether
From the ones who’d left me stranded and so I locked the door
Time moves forward
Time goes on
It forces me to learn
How it all had gone wrong
I’ll find a reason
To see the sun
Rise one more day
Just before I’m done
It doesn’t matter if you think I can become a better man
It doesn’t change the nothing of a human being that I’ve been
I’ve lost so much of my life I don’t think I’ll ever feel complete
And all the world has done is take everything that I love from me
Guitar Solo
I’ve known since long ago that soon I will reach the end of my road
So till my time has come I’ll just keep roughing it up like a rogue
When the Rogue multiclasses into bard, he sings his own theme.... and boy, IS IT GLORIOUS!
Actually did that once in the campaign no healer I the rogue had charisma go Bard in literally Ruling the world
You don't even need to go into bard. Just take expertise in performance and get instrument proficiency from your background. You're suddenly better at music than an actual bard. The only thing you're missing is the magic. Arcane trickster is an option, but I think magic initiate is probably better. It means you can go into swashbuckler to double down on showing off. With swashbuckler you add Charisma to your initiative, so it'll probably be ~+3 by 6th level. Which means you'll have +9 to your performance, compared to the bard's +8 (assuming the bard has 20 CHA by now). At 11th level the bard has +9 to their performance. But your performance is probably +12, and you can't roll below a 10. That means you'll always have at least a 22 on performance checks, but it could be as high as 32 (a number the bard can't even reach). All of this to say, not all artists are bards. Don't feel tied down to bard if your character is musically inclined , or tied to music if you're a bard (maybe try stories or interpretive dance).
@@onyxtay7246 Yeah but Bardic Inspiration is worth the dip.
@@The_Crimson_Witch And, well Jack of all trades is one of the best passives in the game... Your rogue will have more initiative, strength, and any charisma based skill that you didn't take proficiency in... So good for a 2 level dip... I just love the first three bard levels man they're the coolest
@@snake698 A two level dip in bard isn't a bad idea, but it isn't necessary to make a good performer. It also delays reliable talent and the swashbuckler's panache. Jack of all trades is a nice passive though. @Explosive Carnage To each their own, but I don't see Bardic Inspiration being worth it. You use a bonus action, which means you don't get Cunning Action (or an offhand attack). It would only be a d6, which isn't bad. But I don't think it's worth both lowering your rogue level and using your bonus actions.
What an absolute banger, sis. It's a thrill to be a part of such a realized project ♥
Same here Caleb, you killed it man!

@@silent04_ As a joke, whenever a rogue player can't show up, I simply explain that their character is so stealthy that it's as if they're not even there.

@@ratscnaccs7046 if you want combats to last longer you can use more, weaker enemies, maybe even as an ambush after the fight starts. how do you go about integrating music?
@@JohnDoe-gg1jn typically no vocals as to distract players focus. There's tons of instrumental music that can fit and enhance gameplay. Though not to say that vocals can work, background chanting can fit well in boss fight or cult type setting. And I'm sure there is some songs that can work based on the situation.
@@JohnDoe-gg1jn I have a speaker I use, or I just use Rythm bot on Discord these days because I can't meet in person. I have a set playlist with a bunch of *instrumental* music for different moods and settings. It seems intimidating to have to put together a whole playlist, but it gets easier as you collect more pieces from youtube, etc. Although I wouldn't recommend using music in public, and as you probably saw above, also don't use music with vocals. It's distracting. Did that help?
If these two are rouge like characters boy they gotta roll some decent stealth checks all the time if they are constantly singing and accompanied by a rock/orchestral theme at all times
You'd be surprised how hard it is to track someone when everyone else is rocking the hell out. So they get advantage on all stealth checks.
Also I like how this implies that they are similar to doom guy where music emanates from their being.
Also, they could probably roll a nat 1 and get by on their bonuses. They seem to THAT good.

@@gnom_v1948 Rogues aren't the only class that can have a tragic backstory. A Fighter who lost his village in a bandit raid and vows to get revenge on those who took everything from him (or her). A Barbarian who had been captured and sold into slavery and makes it their life goal to escape and kill their captors. A Monk who loses her sister and vows to find her and rescue her from slavery. A Paladin who is forced to break their oath to protect those they love most, and goes on a quest of redemption to regain the favor of their god and ascend to a higher state of power.
I love this song, it's so moving and emotional, then it's funny when you realize all rogues have tragic backstories, you've inspired me to make a rogue who steals and kills because of his/her/it's amazing or cushy backstory, thinking of using the background noble or inheritor.
have a like because you're one of the few people to spell Rogue correctly.
I have a rogue who's of the noble background, and boy is it glorious. He's a Tiefling Rogue of noble background. So whenever he's asked about himself, he'll try to dodge the question or give just enough information that they'll stop asking. example: "Where'd you learn your skills?" My rogues reply, "Oh, uh... A special school. Let's go with that." It gives so much greatness to his character, especially since he's always seen acting like a kid as he smiles and makes people do the same too. Ugh, it's just so good! I love my Tiefling Rogue.
My Rogue is more like the charming scoundrel type, with no sad backstory really. I mean he got dissowned by his family, and expelled from a Mage Guild (I play him as a Variant Human, with MAgic Initiate-feat), but he relativelly got through those unharmed. Getting transported to Barovia, while hunted by the Xanathar Guild... well thats an entirelly different story! :D Btw I use the Charlatan background with him, while masquarading as a noble.
I have a teifling rogue as well. I love her! She was raised in a pocket dimension because she is the child of two deities but she was born with no power or immortality so to protect her they had a powerful friend (who happens to be a Lich) raise her along with her own two daughters. Her backstory was created by the DM because I accidentally matched my character to an NPC she was gonna use. Unfortunately when her pocket dimension was attacked she lost her memories and was expelled into the world so she didn’t know who or where she was. Until a zone of truth came along and the party found out she was their deity’s daughter. THAT was fun. Regaining half her memories and meetings the god side of her family she now feels like she is a disgrace child who has brought shame to her family and is desperately fighting on the front lines of the celestial war trying to prove herself. Meanwhile her father is constantly having a heart attack because his youngest and quite possibly favorite child won’t stop running into the front lines. Also her evil grandfather is high-key trying to steal her soul so he cannot use her against her father. It’s a very dysfunctional family xD

Only two words best describe this: ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR. Cami, I've been subbed to you for a long while, as far as the old Undertale days. And let me tell you, it's been an absolute pleasure, watching you grow throughout the years, seeing you hone your voice, your art, and even bring part of some of my favorite collabs to date! This song, was really something Special. Telling the tale of two rogues, laying out their personalities and views... it was handled seamlessly! This may have take a long time to make, but the final entry came out as something magnificent, and truly worthy of being your 100k marker. Here's to you Cami! I hope you keep growing, and keep singing!
I cried listening to this yesterday, because both Rogues reminded me of the main character in my fantasy pilot, 'Foresworn'. Those two verses, "I was made for one purpose; I have always known I'm worthless" encapsulated her psychology so perfectly that I was already misting up; and then you punched my heart in the face with "but all the sins I've committed can't be ignored". SPOILERS: (Some people like stories, some don't, I'm just...contextualizing what I felt, so, I hope this isn't just TMI.) My protagonist murders her mother by minute 8 of the first episode...there's a lot more to the story, but that is the moment that defines her the most. By the end of the pilot, she nearly gets her father executed and only saves him, her remaining parent, by enslaving herself to the High King. Thank you...for helping me understand my characters more, by giving them another voice. Thank you so much!
It's just me or Cami it's hugely increasing her inherent talent
Proficiency bonuses and Ability Score Improvements.
I could gush about the amazing singing, but I want to first say that the art, both forms, is spectacular! I have been a fan of Cami for a while, but this collab is freaking epic! The art, the music, the soul and heart behind it.... seriously, you guys put together an amazing back story, told thru verse of a bard, of another character. So much is implied by the pictures and the lyrics, never actually told, leaving it for imagination. And trust me, mine is overly active. I would love to see this grow further, and we get to meet sone if the other characters in the party. And seriously, I need to find your music in other mediums for purchase and download.
So, I made a swashbuckler rogue that has a backstory I am really proud of a Genasi that was kidnapped, and forced to forget about his home. (He was the son of neptune, that was the big reveal in his backstory) But some pirates commandeered the ship that was transporting him to a life of slavery. The captain turned into his father figure, and he continued on his life until someone he considered his closest friend, a human by the name of Flint Cobelstein, betrayed the ship. The slavers that lost my rogue(Spiritri Vogin, Seb for short is my character's name) years ago, came back and took all his friends except Flint into slavery, Seb managed to escape by jumping into the water and swimming off, but he is hunting down Flint and the slavers. I say this because this is like Rogue music, with what I gather to be pirates. I had a flashback to the character's death, christ was it sad. Some goliath npc was using his father figure as a meat shield. Seb had a custom little item called "Star's Spark". It was a delayed fireball that started gathering time since it was made (approximately 3 years). In a last ditch effort he told the party to flee, since they were getting beat to hell(it consisted of me, a rogue paladin multiclass, an elf ranger, and kobold wizard. We were squishy). But he pulled out the charm, got his father figure out of the guy's grasp with a threat, but the goliath ordered someone to deal the killing blow to his father. In a state of rage, Seb threw down the delayed fireball, causing it to explode. The DM agreed that since the fireball had been charging for 3 years, it's blast radius would be increased to about 120 ft, the entire size of the goliath's tribe. (well, to be specific, he didn't throw it straight down. he threw it in the air so it took another turn or 2 to hit the ground.) He tackled the Goliath with the charger and grappler features and proceeded to hold him down until the fireball hit and just purely demolished everyone with a ridiculous amount of d6(About 15768012 d6 damage). safe to say, they died. When Seb died, Neptune actually notified everyone around who Seb was, by making a grave in the middle of the crater that had an immovable rod with the shape of a pegasus on top instead of a button, and if anyone tried to fill it in, earthquakes would happen. But yeah, because Seb couldn't find and kill Flint before he died, and the fact that no body was left, Neptune went to Vulcan to request a warforged built specifically to hunt down Flint. Oh god I ranted again, but the party cried for like 2 days out of game.
This is fucking awesome man! I've had a similar story playing a Dwarven noble who never wanted to have anything to do with politics. He was a heart of gold, down to earth fighter who always gave people chance to back out before attacking. He died protecting his family from a coup, in the middle of his covert operation to save his little neice. He was greeted by the gods on the other side, and joined the feast with his forefathers. Now i am playing a Tabaxi Prince - Beastmaster Ranger (we're using slightly homebrewed Revised) and he's the 8th child of the Sultan. 7th was his twin sister, to whom he was like a shadow. He was very shy and weak, and due to that, he was targeted by assassins, as a weakness of his sister, the literal "golden child". Now he imitates her, took her values and character and copied it. He's a fraud, a coward, who only moves forward because of sheer dumb bravado and sense of guilt. He's close to revealing all this to his party. I wonder how they will react.

No one: Every rogue ever: This reminds me of my tragic backstory... Edgelords gotta edge.
To be fair, Rogues as a class innately lean towards more tragic backstories (very few opt to become a criminal and outlaw by choice). Warlock and Rogue innately gravitate towards darker backstories, I find
@@ericmurotake5180 There is zero requirement for rogues to be criminals or outlaws.
@@Jester456 No, but generally, the character lends itself well to a darker backstory (there's a reason for a character to be a class with skills that lean towards the unsavory). It's like Warlocks generally have a slightly darker backstory, simply because "drawing power from vast, unknowable forces beyond the veil" doesn't tend to lend itself to "happy, normal, sane individual"
@@ericmurotake5180 That's pretty much true for anyone who chooses the occupation of adventurer. Rogues and warlocks aren't really special in that regard. Like 80% of PCs I've seen have tragic pasts and broken homes regardless of class. And despite that they're usually not edgelords about it. But rogues have the trope of just dripping in edge. Which is fine. Just gets a little eyerolly sometimes.
@@Jester456 I think that's because the general style of a Rogue fits the darker archetype. They specialize in backstabs, poisons, duplicitous actions, and the like. Plus with a lot of other classes, you find a lot more "normal" reasons for becoming an adventurer (Fighters as Knight-Errants, Wizards out to see the world and study, Rangers simply doing their Job, Paladins on a holy quest, etc)

I listened to this song many times because, well, I love it but also to pick out places where the art could visually complement the music and I really liked how the little "chimes" stood out in that segment. I worked very closely with the editor, Moke, who deserves a lot of credit too for making stuff like that a reality! It's really awesome to see details like that appreciated! :)
It is a heavy bitcrushed piano so you got it right!, the editors did such an amazing job, everyone did♡
A) Holy shit this was awesome. B) Favourite bit: It doesn’t matter if you think I can become a better man It doesn’t change the nothing of a human being that I’ve been I’ve lost so much of my life I don’t think I’ll ever feel complete And all the world has done is take everything that I love from me Could really feel the pain in Calebs voice, especially in the third line. C) Yeah im gonna want to see beckstories for these characters. Are there anywhere? Edit: This song gets better and better the more I relisten.
Congratulations on 100k! I remember when I first started following you, I was excited to see where you'd end up going. You clearly had the talent, but hadn't really been discovered yet. I figured I was in for an exciting journey, getting to watch someone really grow and take off. So far I've been proven right, and can't wait to see what's coming next!
It's got that RWBY feel to it! I love it!
I had my friends pick themes for their characters for a dnd game to play when they introduced themselves. I'm glad the rogue in our party picked this.
Great choice of Caleb Hyles! He’s one of my favorite singers on KZhead. His Disney prince style fits perfectly in this song
man "I'll just keep roughing it up like a rogue" is just such a great lyric.
those HARMONIES THO SO flipping good!
Last time I was this early dnd was still a satanic ritual
it can be if you want it to be

Normally these types of comments annoy me but not this one
you mean its not anymore- I wasnt notified
Daaaaaaaamn this is toppest of top tier! Amazing work all of yall! 🔥
Now all we need is a cleric/paladin hymn, fighter metal, and a spell caster rap and we’ve got the start of a DnD musical.
I'm running a Shadow Fey Cavalier from the Winter Court and this song fits way too well
Holly mother of all things good this is AMAZING!! The art. The instrumental. The singing. Just. Wow. It can only get better from here. 10/10
Indeed, everyone did such an amazing job!!♡
Rouge and bard becomea parent'd. Children:"How did you know mom was the one." Bard:"Well, believe or not. We had met in a party." Rougue gets the bands ready and nods to Bard.Children looks confused and wonder where the music comes from. Bard:"Well, my lovely kids your going to love this song."
That's why everyone should love D&D. It brings up so much character, so much depth. Doin a fully fledged campaign makes you go on years and years (sometimes real life years) of journey, battles, feelings... I don't think there's a way to describe it with words, but perhaps this musical masterpiece gets a little closer to what I mean. My compliments to you and Caleb, this gave me chills that still aren't gone after finishing this comment.
Cami, Nahu, and Caleb walk into a tavern. Nat 20 on Performance. Every rogue starts jamming out And big congrats on hitting 100k! You've earned it with your amazing songs and covers! Keep up the awesome work, I'll be looking forward to the next one!
*Enters the tavern, coughs, pulls up guitar and rolls a nat 20* LETS JAM MY BROTHERS
I clicked this so fast lmaoooooo Your works are amazing!!!!!
Ruleslawyer: You cannot crit on a skill check Cami: "Hold my performance"
I love this song so much i keep coming back and listening to it
I kinda want a song for all of the classes now. I'd imagine a Barbarian or a Druid having what sounds like a tribal drumbeat, while the Artificer has the sounds of a steampunk backdrop or maybe an urban orchestra (like trash cans and breaking glass)
This song is so great just makes me want to delve into their stories
And many a Rogues were made this day.
just found your channel and i love all these videos. lots of passion, keep it up!
I keep coming back just to keep replaying this song
I only recently found your channel. But I can already say that I love what you make and hope you can keep up the good work!!
Tears. This song is on a personal playlist. One of the most moving I've ever experienced. Outside of the context of DnD, this relates to us. It's why we play in the first place; to relate. When you sang it, you meant it. We can all relate to this. Thank you. Subscribed.
this song is soooo awesome. i just cant get enough of it.
This is honestly one of your best songs, and that's a pretty high bar.
This was the first times I've seen one of your posts and I really enjoyed it. But now I want to know the back story to the protagonists of the song. Excellent work guys
This is the best thing I have seen in a while. The music amazing, the art stunning, and everything else is breath taking. It's incredible
Wonderful work as always I've already listened to this 3 times and it's only been. a day
I love all the D&D content you pump out. Keep up the great work!
This was so good. I could feel the raw emotion with each line. Amazing work as always.
hragonart's art is just so Cinematic!! And the music & vocals are just amazing!!! I've been following hragonart's twitter for awhile now and I love everything I see with Zero and Noella seems Super cool too

This song is amazing, and it gives me chills. Just by listening to it I can feel how much life there is in the characters depicted in it. Amazing job, all those that were involved!
This is totally one of my fav songs from you and from any playlist, also great video.
Me, sees that Cami has uploaded a new song: Okay, very nice, I love her voice feat. Caleb Hyles: WTF FOR REAL, THIS IS GOLD, PLS MORE OF THIS, YOU TWO ARE ROCKIN' THIS.

HOLY SHIT ITS THE BROGUES! This is so amazing! Props to everyone involved and congrats on the 100K Cami!

2:21 OOOOOOOOO THE CHILLSSSSS SSSOOO GGOOOD!!!
Noice
nothing but chills from this and all of your songs. you are the highest level bar there is.
You had to. You had to go and drop another banger song! I just joined the mass of subscribers a few days ago and I've been trying to catch up with everything you've put out. This more than secures my resolve that D&D has become a permanent part of my life and I will not let go of it. Maybe some people think it's weird and nerdy. So what if it is? I guess I'll just be "roughing it up like a rogue." We're not doing that again because I don't play it nearly as well as you. Anyways, you and a few other creators have inspired me to try to throw my own D&D stories, creations, tips, and whatever up here on KZhead as well. You inspire me. You're original songs inspired me to start writing my own. So thank you! I know I haven't been a long time fan, but damn it, I wish I had seen this channel much much earlier!
