Bought both the black and white versions to try out. I ended up keeping the white PS version because the face buttons felt better. Glossy face buttons gave me a familiar controller feel. The black versions face buttons are matte but feel a little scratchy/chalky. That being said I was really just splitting hairs at that point. Either version is great.
Glad you jumped on board, it all comes down to preference at the end of the day. Hope you enjoy it man!
You don't need a CAT8 cable. Your experience will be bottlenecked by the quality of the wifi connection from your phone to your router/access point. The PS5 has a gigabit ethernet port which you can max out on much cheaper CAT5e.
Thanks a lot, almost went back to GameStop to change out for the white PS version
I connect it and it says connected for 3 seconds then disconnected I’ve gotten two now and both with the same problem I have no clue on how to have it actually connect to my phone please any insight
I cant get mine to connect to my ps5. It works on the app and stuff but when i get in remote play, it shows the button overlay on my phone screen and cant control it with the controller
Are the face buttons (square triangle..) really more quiet than those on the first gen ? It was too loud and hard to press ima. Thanks
Not as loud compared to the gen 1
I have a ROG 6 Pro. its 173mm in hight. will it fit into the slot? (assuming it doesn't matter its an android or apple since now its type c) I don't mind it being off centre since the type c in Rog is at the side. My current kishi V2 fits leaving about a millimetre or less space when fully stretched. But its not forced.
It should fit most phone tbh
Very informative
Thanks ☺️
Gen 2! I just ordered mine
legend! hope you enjoy it
Great video, nice work
Thank you very much!
Gen 2! Thanks man, your video actually answered all of the questions that I had about the device! Thanks for taking the time to review the device, i'm off to place my order at £70 just like you said would likely happen!
Glad I could help! I hope you enjoy the backbone when you receive it!
Great video and review 👏🏼👏🏼
How do you see the small text in the games if you're playing a ps game. I just bought a backbone but can not read the small text that is native to the ps5
That's because of the phone screen size. Get the largest type c mid-range phone you can find. The closest to 7", the better. Or you can try playing with a tablet. That's even better, despite being off the hook.
I just picked up a version two with lightning cable from Best Buy
Let's goooooo
Does anyone have a problem getting this to work with CODM? I cant connect.
Like 👍🏻 and new subscriber! Thanks for your detailed video!
Appreciate it! Great to have you with us!
Hello, i was watching ur video how to fix ipad if u forgot ur password but i do not get the erase button after like 20 tries
Not sure what u mean
how do i connnet you,yes maybe i need you help.
Nice vid man
Appreciate it man
At 5:03, there are grooves at the corner of the adaptor that you pull on to remove. This is explained in the instruction manual that you chose to ignore.
The rog is like a switch he trolling not even a phone
How loud in your opinion... is the abxy buttons compared to an xbox controller. The xbox controller is fine if I don't press it to hard, im looking for a quiter one for car rides.
pretty quiet look for a case for it so you can store it in with your chargers and power bank
Can you help me cause I’m trying to concoct it to the usb c
Do you need the app to use the controller on PS Remote play?
No you do not. U just hook ur phone on the backbone then open ps remote play and it will automatically start responding
Thanks for the video. What game are you showing at 9:45?
Appreciate it. It’s the 007 James Bond game on Apple Arcade.
Thanks for the review! Does the bezel around the camera bump on thicker cases cause the phone to be placed at an angle/tilt on the usbc port? Or is there still a bit of daylight clearance between the bump and the horizontal bar of the backbone? That’s my only worry as I don’t want to damage the port on my phone!
Which phone do you have? should be ok - best to check the measurements for compatible phones on the site.
@@NomadFlair iPhone 15 Pro (with case). Any idea how much clearance there is between the frame of the backbone and camera bezel of an average sized case you might have lying around? If the phone is seated at a slight angle because of the bump, I’d be slightly worried about whether that might stress damage the usbc port on the iPhone over time.
I can’t seem to get my Xbox Backbone controller to work with PS remote play 😢
If you have android Gen 1 then you needed the playstation version to use PS remote play
I just purchased a Backbone One USB-C Standard (black) version to pair up with my RedMagic (Android) phone, mainly to play COD Mobile and Warzone. I can confirm, that PS remote play is not supported with the Backbone One USB-C Standard (black) version paired up with an Android phone.
Should still work
It is with the gen 1 model though
Are you sure the BackBone in black, USB C is PS Remote play? Doesnt show it on the box and doesn't say it on the websites either
Did u watch the gameplay in the video?
This guy is right, the official website says otherwise. I think Android users can't use the PS remote play app paired with an android/standard backbone gen 2. In the video we see him using remote play on an iPhone 15, maybe that's why. given the fact that the Playstation Portal just went out, maybe Sony just made sure that the backbone doesn't steal the market of the PS Portal, maybe a future update will make it possible, but for now, if you're an android user, you must get the Playstation version to be able to use the PS remote play
Thanks man @@FillVinf06
So many reviewers say the black cant use ps remote play, now im confused. @@NomadFlair
Of course it would work. The backbone is literally just a usb c controller.
Does this really works on iphone 15 promax? Do i need to subscribe to something before i can use it?? How abt mobile legends? Does the controller works well? The mapping ? How is it? Appreciate answer… thank you
It fits the iPhone 15 pro max.
Yes it works with pro max, u don’t need to sub as mentioned in the video. I’ve never played mobile legends, so I wouldn’t know sorry
Does this work with Xbox series X remote play ?
Yes compatible with remote play
So will iphones with lightning port work with gen2?
That’s correct
how do you connect the CAT8 cable to the phone for the internet while the backbone is on. I would love to invest in one.
U connect it to your console not the phone
The gen one android version was already useable with iphone 15...
can you play games from emulators (mame/ nintendo gb , nes, etc?)
Yes it works with the delta app, however this is not up to backbone, it’s the app developer that must provide compatibility with external controllers
How can you even tell if you’re getting a GEn one or GEn two if the box doesn’t say
Try it with a case on. Gen 1 would NOT let you
Amazing 🎉
Thanks bro
Backbone makes you pay to use it?
Gen2 👌🏻
Does this work with uag cases?
What’s UAG?
@@NomadFlair urban armour gear Brand name for phone cases
Very bulky case that’s hard one
Is there any button on these that acts as the Home/PS Button?
I feel bad that no one answered your question and I am even more sad to say I don’t know the answer 😂 sorry man
@@GothamSquire I have the answer! One of the two buttons on the bottom left side, if you hold it for a second or two it acts as the home button
Yoooooo thanks 🙏🏽
@@GothamSquire no problem!
Does it work on ipad mini 6 having usb c too?
I don't think it stretches enough to fit the ipad mini
I wonder if it would work with a usb c iPad Pro
No, it doesn’t extend that much. iPad is too big. But you can connect it with usb cable and it would work
How are your games not so laggy and low frames?
Solid internet connection
Removing the case isnt a problem for me so the gen 1 and 2 are like the same thing
Is that work on ipad with type c ?
Wont fit
ANyone tried this with a Pixel phone and its camera bump
No sorry
Gen 2
Gen2
Gamesir x2c is less then half this price and kinda get the same thing. The app sucks, but other than that it’s great.
You dont need the app at all for it to work.
True
Wait?? You have to pay to play? What if I want it to play Warzone?
I think I spoke about warzone in the video
Does anyone know it works with Galaxy A32 5G??
As long as it is on Android 10 and up and has type c, it'll work.
Why I can’t play 2k or madden or cod on the Xbox version 👎🏿
So you can only use it if you’re on the same WiFi as your console?
Doesn’t have to be same WiFi
@@NomadFlair so if I buy this I can play all my Xbox X games while at work? Like my Xbox could be at home off and it works?
@@five50productions26u have to turn on remote play in xbox options and make sure the setting is enabled to update while off/sleep mode. I dont remember how it's labeled specifically but browse ur options and u shoukd be able to figure it out. I think it's under power settings & internet settings.
@@five50productions26. Yes
@NomadFlair Yep. But the quality REALLY SERIOUSLY DEPENDS on the networks you are using. That's the only downside of Backbone AND Playstation Portal. But at least Backbone is decent enough not to overprice their device--especially with that caveat. They are hoping you'd subscribe to their service, though.
Do u need the app?
No but the app makes it easier.
Just pull them from bottom to the side 🤦🏻
Remember guys ! To get a replacement before your 1 year warranty expires. Iv done it 4 times already every time u get a new 1yr warranty and Xbox game pass 1month
Man you broke ash
@@lnfbags556 lol 💀. broke im not but do I know how to get my money worth hell yeah.
@@lnfbags556 why would i spend $100 each time to replace it when i can get it for free 🤔🫨
Its not working with remote play
Enable it on your PlayStation
@@NomadFlair its not working on the black version! I had to buy the ps play app and its working like magic! You cant even find the remote play app inside backbone app
Wait so can you use it with a lightening iPhone?
Only the gen 1 backbone not gen 2
@@NomadFlair is the only difference between 1 and 2 the connection port?
GEN 2
U boss!!!
Can we play pubg mobile
Yeah
App cost money, sorry thats a dealbreaker
You were silly for assuming that just because it had an lightning connector that it was only for iphone and youre silly now for assuming that just because it had a type c port that that they did it for iphone. Iphones arent the only phones. Most phones have been using type c before the iphone. This isnt only an iphone device. It wouldnt have become obsolete regardless of whether and iphone user could use it or not.
