Hello DIMPLE :)
Today, our three Koreans tried to guess the US Geography quiz for the first time!
It was pretty hard for them because they’ve never done this kind of thing before ;)
Can you also guess the US map?
Keep leaving us comments and suggestions, we really appreciate it.
You can also get an easier reach via our instagram: / dimple_youtube
Again, thank you for watching and we'll see you again next time!

I think you all did very well!! The USA is a very large country with 50 states, that's a lot to remember. Especially when it's not your own country, but you all did so good! 💯😄👍
50 states, 1 federal district, 5 major overseas territories, and 9 minor outlying territories
You're a very sweet stormtrooper❣🌌
There is nothing to apologize for. I think y'all did great! Having pretty Yebin, write Texas down first was good enough if they didn't get a single other one right.
😂
Spoken like a true Texan lol
Facts
I was like "NOOOO" when they wrote down Georgia for Florida lol
@@stick7223 same
as a Nebraskan I was surprised to learn my state had been reclassified to that of Washington DC.
My state of Vermont has been moved to Colorado
😂😂
It’s an honor mr president…
Apparently I live in Mississippi (actually Indiana) and I barely know how to spell it 😂
Nope, not every American knows where each state is, I still get confused by the midwest myself ;) Great job! Don't need to apologize
We know the people who make maps for CNN are baffled where the states are. Lord knows we've seen terrible maps from them over the years.
I think they did fairly well for not getting a chance to study before they tried. USA is big and a lot to learn. I can do the map but I know many people who can't do it and get all the places correct. I was a huge Geography fan as a kid in school so I am pretty good at knowing this kind of stuff. You should let them study the map really good and then let them redo it again.
You guys legitimately got a ton of them right. Way many than I thought you reasonably would (living halfway around the world and not needing to know where any of the states are). Mad props to you!
As an American, I know the names of all 50 states cuz they made me learn it in my school. But if you asked where all the states are located, I would struggle. I only know about half without guessing.
Do you know the names of our territories
@@dylanshaffer2184 by heart I knew 2, had no idea Samoa was a US territory. Honestly, the public schools I went to didn’t teach much about geography. They put a world map, and US map in your daily planner and that’s it (which no one ever looks at). I swear I learned way more things via online after I graduated. So many things weren’t taught. And I’ve never had a reason really to study geography in my daily life. I probably should though.
@@miriahsmith Ya same here, Colorado only really focused on some countries and the main U.S. states. And ya we have over 3 million of our fellow Americans living as second class citizens, or lower as nationals. Samoa is an independent sovereign country, but American Samoa, right next to Samoa is a part of the U.S. Then we have Guam, “Where America’s day begins”, the CNMI, where the battle of Saipan was, and where we launched our bombers to Nuke Japan. Then we have Puerto Rico, which is almost a U.S. state, and the USVI, which shares a international sea border with the UK, due to the British Virgin Islands right next door
So pretty much every American
@@biohazard737 No, I know where all the states and overseas territories are, and I know where a lot of countries are. It’s just our education system isn’t the best
That absolute confidence in that Oregon/Idaho/Vermont trifecta was hilarious. "What happens in Oregon stays in Oregon"?
From Washington State!🇺🇲 You guys did great for not being from the U.S! Not sure I could do the same with South Korea.👍
I’m amazed that they have this much knowledge of the US states!! FYI I live on the Oregon coast
ditto...and I live in Oregon as well, towards Portland.
They teach them in school in south korea? At least they got a lot correct and 90% of americans dont know where south korea is at lol. Americans probably don’t even know where china is also. America got a lot of top school in the world but why do most american school students are so subpar. Majority are
ayo i live in oregon too!
Same!
Grew up in Reedsport on the coast now in Albany
Honestly, they’re doing it basically the same way I would! Start with Texas and CA - the obvious ones - and then work in the rest as you go along! And I definitely wouldn’t do this well with any other country, so, well done 👍
I love this because the truth is we all learn about geography but as we live our lives the mostly just the information that affects us is remembered. Geography is tough and if you do not live in a place or haven't been there or studied it consistently it's not easy to retain that information. They did great 👍. Now I need to study more about their country. 🤷♂️
I've watched several videos of foreigners labeling a map of the United States and in terms of correct answers, this is the best video I've seen. Good job!!
No need to apologies. You're not the only ones who don't know where the states are geographically. Its best to study them all. Though what you guys did actually makes me want to study as well. (^~^/ Y'all did great! 21 out of 50 right states.
Cute and adorable as they did their best. How many people study other countries geography just for general knowledge?
Most of the rest of the world tbh. American education is a joke.
@@killinglonliness88 yeah we know that tf?
lol it’s not like we had control of what we learned when we’re like 5
@@hal4828 Hard to learn such things at 5, when primary school starts at 6 🤪
@@alirollins5804 why are you mad?
I had to learn the States and Capitols in 7th grade and their location on the map....but I'm old now....I'm lucky to find the corner store 😆
You got all the states I've lived in right, so I am happy. Michigan, California, Texas, New Mexico and Florida.
I think you guys did a great job, my home state of Pennsylvania is now Illinois, but no matter, always wanted to spend more time in Chicago. You’re all so cute.
We're not mad that you guys missed some. I've been in America my whole life and can't point out where all 50 states are. Only people that like geography are good at that.
My education in Utah really emphasized knowing the states, their capitals, and their locations. So at least everyone who attended the same school as I would get this right without a second thought. I am unsure about how much other schools emphasize it though.
@@seydabomb9859 We were taught the 50 states as well from kindergarten to Highschool where I live. However, I honestly don't remember everything. Most I know don't remember unless they're into geography. I'm into science and psychology and know a crap load about that lol.
@@leahunfeigned5955 interesting. I thought it was just a difference in education over interest in geography. I personally don't enjoy it or try hard to remember. It just was brought up so often and I tested on it enough that it just stuck. Maybe that's just a personal thing? Idk.
This video was so cute!! You all tried so hard and were very enthusiastic and happy about the challenge...well done, lol!!
Wow you guys did great. Impressive since it's not easy to remember them all!
Y'all are so cute! I like that Yebin put Texas first!! Good job! I have lived in Texas my whole life and I do think I could have labeled the map correctly, especially the east coast.
It's amazing how well they did! Great job!
Very impressive! You folks did great!!
You all did an amazing job, many people that live here could not do as well as you all did.
Totally hysterical! I was anxiously awaiting Colorado only to find I now live in Vermont!
You guys did a great job! You are correct in that most Americans cannot label all 50 states. I would love to see another map quiz. Perhaps of Asia.
Glad to see you got South Dakota right. I live about 20 miles from our less memorable neighbor, East Dakota.
I was cracking up when they started drawing state lines 😂
Y’all did great!
getting 21 right is better than a lot of Americans LMAO. you guys did great!!
I think y'all did pretty good for honestly. Y'all have done much better than most people I have met.
Don’t apologize, you all did better than most Americans would, trust me.
I remember singing in elementary school some silly song that really helped me learn the states...lol. You all did a great job, and I'll forgive you for calling Oregon(where I live) Nevada and vs versa, since you put Nebraska(the state where I spent a large portion of my childhood and early teen years), as Washington D.C:)). Love, Peace, and Truth... Btw: The song( I think) was called "Fifty Nifty; United States"; it makes me laugh just thinking of it. Memories. Again, great job and thanks for your channel.
"Do Americans know where all the states are?" If they're older than 20, probably not! hahaha We can probably name a good number of them - let's say a solid 30/50 but all of them? That would be considered impressive.
I'm older than 20 and I know where all of them are.
@@diggity1039 Well done? I never said none could lol
This was cute. Honestly if you asked 3 Americans to identify the states they probably wouldn't do better. And I'm sure we're worse than most when it comes to identifying other countries, yet alone states, in the world. This was fun, thanks.
Totally correct! Most Americans can't correctly label a US state map, let alone any other country in the world.
Not many countries even have states but I see what you're saying. I think I'd disagree about the Americans not doing better on the U.S. map. Most people know at least the geographical area around them (such as the SE, midwest, etc.) and the major places on both coasts. Most people just have trouble with middle states.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i used to hate doing this in school! but i love the confidence of the cast, and the corrections. it made me laugh. I always say I want to visit Daegu & Gwangju... and i've looked at it several times. but I cant tell you where it is on a map. I'm sure when I come to visit for the first time to SK, I will just believe whatever people tell me.
Excellent effort! It's the trying that's important. 🙂
LOL..great video but why in the world would you apologize? You guys had fun. I certainly couldn't label where all the Korean cities were. Yall did great!! :) You guys were so adorable. FYI, many Americans can't get all the places right either..lol. 👍
4:22 that's Canada.
You guys did great!!! I’ve been to Korea once for approximately three weeks, yet I couldn’t do even half as well as you did with the USA. ♥️
It is fine, most U.S. citizen couldn't correctly complete this task, plus the U.S. is big and the names sometimes are a little crazy, looks like fun was had and that is most important.
Don't be sorry. Many Americans don't know where the States are either. I know I couldn't get the Korean map correct at all. Thanks for the video. 💗🙏✌️💪
They don’t even know where south korea is either lol. And some americans even think whats the difference between north vs south korea
Not too shabby! Well done! It took me a long time to learn where all of the states are. It helps to know some early colonial American history/Geography to get the east coast states in the right place and then some of the more distinct shapes can help with some of the western and midwestern states.
You guys did very well!! To have that much knowledge when going in blind is pretty cool. I do want to say that northern states are the cold ones lol Like New York and all of New England which were in red. The ones directly below, which is the south, are hot, but I would say the entire southern region of the whole country gets very hot. Arizona, New Mexico, Texas etc all get sweltering too lol
They did very well. As a general rule, most people can name the well known places on the coasts, California, New York etc. The middle of the country gets a bit more difficult. The West coast from North to South is easy, only three states, Washington, Oregon, California. The East is bit more difficult. I couldn't tell you name of a single Korean province/state, so I'd absolutely fail the same test in reverse.😉
Sanghak is my favorite, Han too.. I want to see them do a video together ❤️
as some one from the USA i LOVE this is great haha its ok we couldnt name all the places of other countries either! haha keep making great content!
Lol. So INDIANA is now Mississippi .🤣😂 Here's a tip once you figure out Michigan and from I see you got it right your map. Indiana is right understand. Will slightly to the left of it. My state. You guys did pretty good for not being to the U.S and don't worry I still need a map to remember all 50 and where there placed.
I love videos like these! Honestly it’s something everyone learns here in about 5 th grade, but then we forget a lot too after that. Don’t be sorry because wrong answers are even more fun!! The US is so big it’s so different geographically and culturally. So it makes it funny to think of those stats somewhere drastically different! 😊😊😊 Like it’s funny to imagine Vermont being on the west coast or Georgia being in Florida
You guys did great. I had a blast watching you guys. To cute
❤❤❤❤ right back at you!! In school everyone of course learns about all the states. But then later we have to learn all our state's counties. There are tons of them and most of them are box shaped.
Lol maybe in your state, but counties are all kinds of weird ass shapes where I am.
Y'all did good 👍🏽
Helll yaaaa, I was way more excited than I had any right to be seeing Texas get knocked out right away like it was a gimme. 🤠
much love from georgia usa. you all did quite well! good job!
Fun video!!!! And nothing to apologize for. I know I wouldn’t get the map of SK at all lol. Having said that they actually did really good knowing its not the country they are from.
this was actually very impressive they were they were able to combine their knowledge to build the map!
lol i live in idaho so it was so funny seeing him putting delaware for idaho😂
They did a great job!
you did very well!!!!
I’ve lived here (NC) my entire life and I still mix the western square states up sometimes
Try Port Townsend WA. It's on a small peninsula off a big peninsula. The small peninsula looks like a dinosaur with my town like a hat.
I love Port Townsend. I have a lot of great memories of taking ferries to the islands when I was living in WA
Oota
Wow, that's a pretty good job. Yes, we are required to learn them in elementary school, but I'm sure a lot of people forget some of the locations over the years. I'm from Mississippi and learned them in the 4th grade. We were tested on them and had to draw a map of the country on a posterboard with the states, abbreviations, capitals, bordering countries, major rivers, bodies of water, and land regions--mountain ranges, plains, etc.
East Dakota. Priceless!
I think you did fantastic....I am from California, but grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. Trust me when I say I couldn't name areas of Korea....and most of us barely know all the states...the best way I could describe it..each state is like it's own little country, it's own government and set of laws. And than since we all work together as on country we have laws at that level that we all follow. But for the most part we follow just our own states laws. A bit confusing I know...it confusing us too...believe me...but that is how it's been done since 1776...but I will say this...be happy and very proud, you did great!!!!
I don't think you should feel bad since most North Americans have only a vague sense of where South Korea actually is. As in "it's somewhere over there". Most probably couldn't point to it on a map.
They teach them in school in south korea? At least they got a lot correct and 90% of americans dont know where south korea is at lol. Americans probably don’t even know where china is also. America got a lot of top school in the world but why do most american school students are so subpar. Majority are
It is true I know where most states go but like the little ones like New Hampshire Vermont I forget the exact spot but know the region same with Nebraska and Kansas I always get them flipped but the rest I pretty much know lol
yall did pretty good given you didn't study it as a kid even those of us studied in elementary still get them wrong the northeastern states one's I had trouble with those around were I grew up get real quick and get the bigger ones like them. some I get confused mixed up but in general area.
They did really well! I can only name and place 6 cities in South Korea. I would like to learn more! When I went to school in the States, we had geography class. I remember the tests being the 50 states and capitals of each. Driving cross country a few times helped!
Don’t feel bad y’all didn’t get them all at least you tried. Sometimes I forgot to and I’ve been here for 20+ yrs. Lots of 💜 from Atlanta, Georgia 🇺🇸
You should do countries in europe or south america next!
I would love to see them do a map of Canada 🇨🇦 since im a Canadian
Greetings from Northern California, great job!
Seeing as I'd be lost if someone asked me to identify places in S.Korea...I think you're doing pretty good.
They did so well! Got almost half. I can't get all of them and I live here.
Great! Next Europe🤭🧡
The mid west is a bit fuzzy for me but everywhere else I'm good at knowing what is where. And those States are in Red b/c we call those States New England. A group of States in the upper North East.
No, it doesn’t include Georgia, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, or the Carolinas Google something before posting a comment next time so you don’t provide wrong information I have no idea why they are colored red. The New England states only consist of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode island, and Massachusetts.
@@Luke-je1px Jesus, calm down. So I was wrong.
@@LilFireFox I am calm. I was providing advice for next time. Tone doesn’t carry over well in text. Also, some people consider the red states to be part of New England, so I guess that part doesn’t matter
I don't know about today, but I had to memorize (for school) all of the states and their capitol cities when I was in 4th grade (age 10).
I am from North Carolina, you guys did a great job to find it! However the state above North Carolina is Virginia, Colorado is out west.
You guys did really well. Truthfully unless their 4th grade or 10th grade teacher was really strict on knowing the map, people will not know where most stuff is especially now a days were they become less strict on knowing where the states are located but they can name every one of them 😂
You got 21!! Well done!!
Impressed and pleased, but not surprised.☺
I only ever memorized all 50 states and their capitals, but never memorized their locations on the map so well.
Honestly I think you guys did well, maybe just about as well as an average American. I live here and at some point had to obsess over it for a couple days to memorize them all.
Vary well I loved the video, I'm from Nevada...
You are all great! Guys were a little sassy with the twerking…awesome guys!
Y’all did great. No apologies needed. Love from Texas.
they did a lot better than i thought they would. i dont think i'd do as well labeling provinces/states/regions of other countries
RIP Minnesota At least Maryland is by the water LOL And the Channel Islands off the coast of California are now Rhode Island LOOOLLL. They must know the joke about Rhode Island being the smallest U.S. state!
aah yes, how could anyone forget about east dakota. one of my favorite states
Happy to see they got Montana, for some reason a lot of people in the US don't even get my state right on these sorts of things.
Good job! No need to apologize. Btw, here's some hearts back to you! ❤❤❤❤
Canada isn't part of Alaska... yet.
Twenty one right? That's more than many Americans are able to identify. Great save on Florida. Impressed with how they thought out North Dakota and North Carolina.
Honesty 21 correct is great. This exercise show why people who come here on vacation thinking that you can spend a week driving to all the places you want to visit. The US is vast.
In Canada we learned to label all 50 states by age 8 or 9. When the US is your neighbour and largest trading partner it's pretty important. Having said that, most Americans could not identify Canadian provinces on a map.
I’ve definitely have been forced to memorize and label the states in school but apparently that lesson didn’t stick with me 😅
I'm just glad they got Utah right. I was surprised 🤣 but honestly, the whole eastern half of the U.S. is hard to remember, so they did awesome, all things considered!
LOL EAST DAKOTA Got me! LOLL!
