@@morphingtime2000 Prime will stick around just because it's bonus for so many people, even if their library is so tiny. My money is on Disney, HBO Max, and Paramount+. Netflix is now acting almost exactly how Blockbuster did; not really adapting at all because they think they are still king and doing something stupid (Blockbuster getting rid of late fees which was basically their profit margin, and Netflix with the gaming thing where the IP's are going to be so expensive their profit margin will plummet, investors will sell, and boom, gone overnight); in fact, all Steam has to is buy access to Sony and Microsoft consoles and it's game over. Right now the only reason I have Netflix is for watching stupid movies I haven't seen in a really long time, and waiting on The Witcher. Since Netflix canceled "The Patriot Act", which was hilarious while being informative, I hope Hasan gets a deal with HBO; if I were HBO I'da had an offer on the table the moment Netflix cancelled that show, assuming there wasn't a non-competition clause in his contract.

Ive read three books and couldn't continue, what makes it the finest?. I'm not convinced.

The first book is split into two films as they know its too big.

It will be approx. 2.5h long according to Wikipedia. They will probably release an extended version afterward.

This is only Part 1, it'll be a 5-6 hour epic when both parts are out

Yes, but why does Timothee have to mumble so much? I can barely hear him talking to Duncan. And it seems like he does that in most of his movies.

On the contrary, in The King he plays towards a psychopathic character, stone cold, unfeeling, unexpressive blank face with those half opened eyes. He just happens to be young to play Paul Atreides but otherwise? Compare him to early Paul, the angry Paul, the moody Paul of the mini-series, you can relate to those. We will see how this goes

The director refused to do this in one film, Frank Hebert's novel created too complex a world to do it any justice is a single motion picture therefore it will be done in two films.

I think it’s a brilliant way of introducing the complexity of Dune with out the huge monologue

@@jbiz979 Tbf the opening monologue of the book sets the scene really well.

The fact that all the dialogue is new and a little... blockbustery? makes me suspicious but I'm still crossing my fingers for a banger. I'm also not a purist so adaptation is fine by me, I don't need it to be a visual play by play of the book.

Herbert's dialog is a little hard for newbies to take as normal speech. This seems to convey the spirit of the story. I like it. And a little humor doesn't hurt. I can't think of any in the novels. I loved Duncan's interchange with Paul. And they split the first novel. More to enjoy.

The first movie did nothing to portray how absolutely ferocious the fremen were.

Watch the movie series from SCIFI year 2000. It was amazing, this movie is going to cover all 3 in one 2 1/2hr setting. While that older one is like 4 1/2 hours long and was a 3 part series. It's soo soo good.

It's because Dave Bautista is so terrible (in everything he's ever been in, except for Guardians, because he's not an actor), not cringy like John Cena, but bad enough; and other little details. Hoping as well that they pulled it off.

Villeneuve brings interesting spins in his productions but why were fremen wearing Atreides armor? The group from the left seemed to rise from the sand, from ambush more or less, so I guess they were fremen, also because of the spice colored eyes od Paul when opening the visor.

Read the books in the early 70s.....they were great. I saw the other movie/s? (think there were 2 versions) This looks like it'll be a lot better than either of those.

I found the books in my dad's bookcase as a teen after playing Dune 2 on my PC, read them all, even Herbert's son's work. After seeing the first trailer I started reading them again 20 years later, still the goat sci-fi books!!

I don't want to see another Battlefield Earth unless they do the entire book instead of ending it halfway in. What I would *LOVE* to see is Mission: Earth. But it took ten novels to tell that story, and I'm not sure Hollywood is up to the challenge.

He added a bit of humor too from the looks of it. I’m both excited and apprehensive to get excited after The Stand.

Pretty sure it's Fedaykin armor, meaning it's from later in the story, meaning that clip is from a vision of the future.

A story of the war against our AI Oppressors in our distant future and which led to this universe in which computers are outlawed so vehemently that it has caused the rise of multiple branches of humanity itself: The Mentats, Living Computers and Masters of Intellect above all else. The Navigators, those so driven to unlock the mysteries of the Universe and in so doing have discovered a way to literally create wormholes in space with their minds. The Bene Gesserit and their pursuit of the Kwitzach. All pursuits in seeking to expand the potentials of the Human Mind.
