The NHL Wild Card Race is officially over and with the Eastern Conference Matchups set today I thought it would be fun to make my predictions for the first round, I will post a second video predicting the Western Conference once the matchups are set. whats your predictions then?
Well it was a correct prediction, to be fair. 3 out of the top 4 seeds in the East have already closed out their series, and the remaining higher seed is one game away from closing theirs out. Plus, there usually is an upset or two in the first round pretty much every year.
Pulled Boston and Nashville in a pool at work. Hopefully they don't fail. Good luck in your pools everyone.

as a Tampa fan I'm ofc going to say that Tampa will win the series (in 6). I also think that the biggest upset potential in east is the Islanders vs Canes matchup, I believe that Islanders will give the Canes a run for their money and have the potential to make the upset and win the series.
I have to say I think people really really underestimate the Islanders. I’m a Rangers fan and anytime we’ve played them I was shaking. I went to the stadium series game and I felt like we were playing the 1980s oilers. They are a sneaky team. And maybe this is a bit biased but I think if anything the Rangers Win In 4. Tell me what you all think. But I think we all know the team with Sebastian Aho is winning that islanders Caroline series
Im an Isles fan and it SO obvious that the dolt who made the video (and others that have YT channels) NEVER watch the Isles play. 1. They are one of the better 5 on 5 teams in the league. They have GOD AWFUL PP and PK but 5 on 5 is solid! 2. Varly is ON FIRE!!! (This clown keeps saying Sorokin, but Varly is their starting goalie...can't even get the starting goalies right, great breakdown dude) 3 They are THE hottest team in the NHL - 8 out of their last 9 4. As I am sure you can admit they play the Rangers tooth and nail (bad penalty calls decided 2 of the games) and they won the series vs Carolina

@@KevinWood44they didn’t win the series vs Carolina it was split, 3 of these games were before svech was back, 2 of these games we had Raanta in net, and the only game we had guentzel and kuz was a game where you guys got decimated. The hottest team in the nhl is a stretch when canes were 7/8 in their last 9 games before they sat all of their top 6 outside of necas and teuvo while putting out our third string goalie and sitting 3/6 of our d core

Pretty bold of you to pick all the higher seeds... I'm expecting 2 of the lower seeds to upset as we learn every single year that the playoffs are a wild beast
The only thing we know for sure is , no one knows whats going to happen , thats what i love , theres always upsets .Patrick Roy is a champion , that tends to rub off onto players. Islanders might surprize people .
By live votes Bobrovski is on pace to place second in the Vezna. The panthers as a team are on pace to win the Jennings. After ASG Bob had a .922 s% and if he goes down his backup led the league in GAA and S% Bob had an insane playoff run last year and was 90% of why the made it that far. Absolutely braindead take saying their weakness is keeper. If you want your channel to grow, take a minute to actually look into the teams you’re assessing. Idc if you would have picked tampa, but to say bob is floridas weak spot shows you don’t actually pay attention to the rest of the league outside of your handful of favorite teams.

Completely shattered his credibility right off the bat by saying the goalie position is a weak spot for Florida. But he's definitely eating his words now after Tampa got stonewalled by Bobby 😂
Ugh as not a fan of either team I hate having to keep explaining this. Philly HAD to pull the goalie because they HAD to win in regulation even though it didn’t matter in the end. Torts did what he had to do

I think whoever wins the second round between the Rags and the Canes will make it to the cup final. As a ranger fan I think it really is a toss up.
I have Boston, Tampa, Washington and Carolina coming out on top. It’s gonna be the year of the “get goalie’d” in the East. Ullmark/Swayman, Vasy, Lingren, and Andersen are gonna shut all the haters up and prove why their teams mean business. Round 2 predictions? I have no idea yet. But I’m calling it- round 1 in the east is gonna be a very low scoring affair all around.
All I want is to see a Stars win a cup while I’m a fan. It’ll be the best feeling ever
West Final Dallas vs Nashville East Final Boston vs Carolina Cup Final Dallas vs Carolina Winner Dallas Will mix it up either the Nashville pick, always a 1st round upset every year and I think this year will be them. Vancouver had a very outlying shooting % to start the year and I don’t see that continuing, if Saros gets hot they can definitely beat them.
What’s strange about the flyers decision? They had to win in regulation to have a chance to make the playoffs.
How is goaltending a weakness for the Panthers? Look at the numbers. Bobrovsky is sitting at the second highest odds for the Vezina (.915 save percentage, 2.37 GAA, and 6 shutouts), and the backup Stolarz has a .925 save percentage with a 2.03 GAA. Just completely shattered your credibility in the first 90 seconds of the video 😂
Historically Bob has been very up and down by the numbers, he is right about that. His save % in 22-23 was .901, but in the playoffs it jumped to .915 for example.

People keep calling out Philly for pulling their goalie… their ONLY chance to make playoffs was to win in REGULATION. If Detroit deserved it they would’ve won more games in regulation in the season.
PHI season was over as soon as DET took it to OT. The only thing pulling the goalie did was cost PHI a chance to end on a OT win.

In the east, I have Bruins vs Rangers in eastern conference final and Rangers coming out on top
I can see that happening
Bruins ain't getting past Florida. We beat them last year, and the Bruins got significantly weaker, while Florida got significantly deeper than they were last year. But I do have the Rangers in the ECF against Florida, and I think it goes 7 games. But I have Florida coming out on top (though I may be biased there lol).

Ive got Leafs vs Canes with the Leafs in the finals(Caps over Rangers in 7, and Florida over Tampa)
I don't see how the caps win 2 games and the isles win zero. The isles will most likely not get swept. They gave carolina a run for their money and can make this rematch series go 6 games again or even 7 games

Panthers goaltending has been great all year, both guys.. for the isles, varlyamov saved their season really. He probably starts.
They have been in just not sure if the panthers strong goaltending will continue in the playoffs. I would also be very very surprised if Sorokin doesn’t start in the playoffs

Darkhorse in the east I think are the Islanders . They are one of the hottest teams going into the playoffs. They could be the Panthers of last year's playoff run.
RIP. But to be honest, I had the Islanders upsetting Carolina in round 1 myself. Might have been a completely different series if they hadn't blown it in Game 2.

To many people buying into the hype of the rangers just because they won the presdents cup which doesn’t mean anything it’s already been proven . Caps will surprise the haters .

Clearly The Caps have the advantage. All the Rangers have is the better Goalie, better defense, better offense, and better coach. Caps have better everything else
@@Grande79 better goalie lol not by much caps goalie was rank 1 in the NHL in shutouts he was ranked top 7 in the NHL over all so caps have a top tier goalie and there defense play ranked in the top of NHL in blocked shots and hits so I mean damn only thing caps were not great in was scoring so if they can improve a little they will give the rangers trouble.

Boston is due to go past the 1st round. If they don't it's gonna be the 3rd year they get eliminated in the 1st round. Knowing Toronto, I bet they will take the lead in the series by 2-1 or even 3-1 only to lose it in 7 games. So Boston should win in 7.

You made a video breakdown and got the starting goalie for the Isles wrong. Their ACTUAL starting goalie is the hottest on the NHL. - FACT!! And "the Islanders feel shaky?" Really? wining 8 of their last 9 is "shaky" Aren't you embarrassed??? They are going to lose but get the details right.
Inconsistent is the better term here. They’re on a hot streak to end the season but before that they were questionable at best.

I think the playoffs would be a lot more fun if the Pen made it instead of them lol but I mean just get the facts straight.
