Kisuke Urahara plays a huge role during the TYBW arc of BLEACH, despite this some fans believe that he didn’t contribute much to the victory of the Soul Society. In this video I explain the pivotal role that Urahara plays during BLEACH’s final arc. What would happen if Urahara wasn’t there? How would this impact the Soul Society, and would they have even won against the Quincy?

Just thank you for these kind of videos. Askin has quickly become on of my favorites because of how underrated he is. However, kisuke knowledge is fatally underestimated by fans at least. That man has been vital in bleach from the beginning to where we are now.
Urahara is the MOST underrated because he does most of his work offscreen.

A lot of what you’re saying here is why Urahara’s bankai is more broken than people think. And I think the MVP battle could be either 4, but I go with Urahara living up to his name as a special war power

Kisuke was an instrumental key to the Soul Reapers winning the TYBW. Finding a way to reclaim the stolen Bankai, and taking out one of the Elites are both massive accomplishments.

Askin and Aizen go to the same hair stylist.
He worked well behind the scenes and when he got involved he used others to get into the fight as he usually does. This war was won by those on the front using his gadgets so it was symbiotic. He is now expanding his shop to other regions of Japan having found his own peace in the postwar world.
Indeed. The contrast between him and Askin made their battle a fascinating one. Askin fights for someone who wants to change the status quo, but is not willing to be the one to actually bring change. Meanwhile Kisuke claims that a true scientist seeks to bring change himself, yet Kisuke is one of the main figures that does everything to maintain the current state of the worlds. Adding to that is that they are both fond of presenting themselves as being unassuming, yet they are some of the deadliest members of their factions.
@@jrgenvellesen7800 Truth. Take notice of Kisuke's reaction to Askin's question, just goes to show that beneath it all Kisuke is a servant to system that is or was stagnation incarnate. At least that has started to change in the postwar era with him allowing his tech becoming purchasable products for all, thus contributing to some changes. A far cry to his past self who literally killed to keep things as they are while only a few benefited from his genius.

Kisuke most likely clings to what was indoctrinated into him to ensure that he would serve the Soul Society, despite knowing that the system is just as bad as the forces that seeks to bring it down are. Still, he does have a moral compass and seems content to live in the human world. Likely a sign that he does enjoy the freedom a more humble life can bring him.

Also found it interesting that he objected to Yoruichi's suggestion that they wipe Hisagi's memories for digging into the history of the Spirit King at the end of CFYOW, being legitimately put off by her paranoid and hostile demeanor while pointing out that she's usually not concerned with such matters. They may have been assassins for the status quo but it's clear they have different views about it all and that moment really showed us.
@@manuelacosta9463 Yeah. That moment put into perspective how cold and ruthless Yoruichi can be despite how laid back she usually comes across. It is likely where the foundation of their bond comes from, they both help the other maintain their humanity. Still, both Kisuke and Yoruichi seem to want to move on and help the ones who embodies the new generation make things better. It does explain why they both seem so fond of Ichigo, who is something so rare as a genuine hero in their world.
Urahara played the long-run. Firstly, the Aizen we meet in TYBW is even stronger because of the Hōgyoku, which is Urahara's creation. In the past, it is only because of him saving Masaki that Ichigo was ever born- and the fate of the Soul Society was truly in his hands. He trained Ichigo, even. Both Soi-Fon and Toshiro would have been dead without the hollowfied Bankai... and Toshiro was crucial during the fight with Gerard. Mayuri still hadn't figured it out until this point, by the time both the captains would have died. Urahara also aided Mayuri in creating a passage to the Royal Palace. People say that Askin not wanting to fight Mayuri and agreeing to engage Urahara means that the former must be stronger. This is not the case true. Askin's strategy, as seen in the anime exclusive fight with Tenjiro, is to make people underestimate him by assuming an illusion of nonchalance or fear. He even attempts to goad Mayuri to fight him during their initial encounter, after walking away. With Kisuke, Askin recognizes that this is not possible anymore. Urahara is dangerous, and you cannot run. He still has got tricks up his sleeve, even if he himself is not there to oversee it. And despite Askin seeming to be the weakest of the Royal Guard, his power is extremely dangerous to anything alive. Kisuke's Bankai was the best option to fight Askin, over any of the others.
actually Urahara and Aizen had one to be exact. Their research both ended up at a similar product, he fed urahara's to his own.
@@eldercleric Yes, I knew- thanks for mentioning it, though! It's often overlooked by the fandom and is another feat from Aizen. Urahara ended up making the (kind of) finished product essentially, which Aizen fed to his own incomplete Hogyoku. In some sense, Urahara has made Aizen the way he is today.
Everyone would agree Urahara did most in the series but when only talking war, there are evidences that Mayuri did more and thus people feel disappointed with Urahara. 1. Both Mayuri and Urahara together solved the bankai problem. Urahara's pills and Mayuri's distribution system together, which Mayuri retained with his shadow less lab creation. 2. Both aided Ichigo and co. to soul palace. 3. Both handled a royal guard, unable to kill their enemy without help. 4. Mayuri also solved zombie problem and brought back Toshiro. I can't recall another of Urahara's contribution in war.
In my opinion, Kyoryaku with Urahara as special advisor would make Gotei 13 close to invincible.

Urahara is one of my FAVOURITE Bleach character, he's Past is really INTERESTING as a Captain of Squad 13 (if I remember it like). I'm really interested of Story how Urahara and Yoruichi met and played together in their Secret Hideout. Would be really NICE to see how he and Tessai founded and eshablished their Shop. By the way I've heared Urahara is an isnpired by Snufkin from Moomin Valley, is it true? I can see it. Urahara's Bankai is one of BEAUTIEST Benihime. 💃🏻⚔️💚🐈⬛
One oversight you missed is that the Vizards would be immune to the medallions for the same reason as Ichigo, as they also have hollow powers. 9:15

@sahilsinghrautela743 neither did ichigo, but urahara would've definitely told them at some point if it came down to it. It's also widely known that hollows are poison to quincy. It wouldn't take people like Aizen or Mayuri to put two and two together. Not like it made any difference, Vizards still got bodied when they should've been a trump card in the invasion and war

In ny opinion urahara was actually a war potential not because of his fighting abilities because of his mind.. we all know keeski always have a plan he always find a way in any circumstances. Aizen was GOAT but what make him that powerful Kyōka Suigetsu?? Afcoz not its his brain coz of his brain he utilised Kyōka Suigetsu in its peak potential.. same with kiski urahara he is very dangerous guy in whole soul society in my point of view 😊

I feel you made one critical mistake in the video regarding Lille. If they took a bankai they cannot use their holy form and Lille's main power comes from his holy form which allows him to not take damage.

I'm still curious Did Komamura really used the hollow pill? He was outside the Soul Society to master the humanization technique I still trying to determime if it's the pill or the changed nature of the bankai that cause it to return to Komamura. Would Bambietta have that undead bankai if it didn't return?
not only are you right but you keep exposing the mans who is deadliest. how i knew he was broken. although he not like the former head captain. the fact that he pitied aizen for thinking he could replace the soul king. yeah all the captains probably have knowledge of the soul king but i don't think any of them really understand like how he does. imo all the people with the subtle smile in bleach always scared me. This arc wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for him. It'll just be, enemies taking over soul society coz all their captain bankais have been stolen.
But then this plan wouldn't be easily executed without Mayuri's part in it when he created shadow less lab. It is actually both together that contributed in fixing bankai problem and sending Ichigo and co to palace above. Both kept a royal guard busy and indirectly killed their royal enemy with help. Mayuri contributed more with his anti zombie thing.

The soul reapers have more than enough plot Armour to save them from any thing urahara and especially mayuri are making the story boring and takes all the tension the Arc have with all this science bs that they have but conveniently the enemy don't have someone on the same level of intelligence to fight them

Kenpachi could run around and kill most Quincy without needing to use his shikai or bankai, while everyone else needs to release their zanpakuto.
