    • @@patrickiamonfire965 Fun fact, lemons are not natural, but they predate genetic modification! They're the result of cross-breeding the citron and the bitter orange. In fact, there are only three naturally-occurring citrus fruits; the citron, the mandarin (not the same as a mandarin orange, which came later), and the pomelo, all of which are native to south and east Asia. (note, too, that the kumquat and small-flowered papeda are citrus ancestors that, while not originally considered citrus themselves, were interbred with the three 'true' citrus ancestors to create modern citrus, and have since been reclassified into the citrus genus) ... Then humans came along, made the citrus fruits interbreed like a kid forcing action figures to kiss, and boom! Point is, life never gave anyone lemons; we made them ourselves, with the power of plant incest. Humans are weird.

  • This seems like a cute, fun, simple little game...then as it goes on you realize with horror that it's basically just a simulator for how the world really works and it's depressingly accurate all the way through to just about the end.......the reason I say just about the end is because at this point I'm not sure if we're going to kill ourselves off with the environment OR if we're going to do it with AI first. That's the only real question now.
