  • As a tour bus driver in Hawaii, we called the coconut tree the politician tree, It starts out growing straight, but in the middle it gets a bit crooked, and by the time you get to the end its all nuts, oh, and it always has its palms out.

He loves people and truly wants to lift anyone he meets up and include them in what is happening. He has true charisma and that is one of the best compliments anyone can ever pay you. It's a gift. It shows when you have the gift.

  • In nature there is no concept of "useless". Those rotting coconuts become part of the life cycle of the soil and the trees. So too in life, we must find ways to redefine our views and find purpose where it might seem there is none.

    • glad someone said it! that dead coconut will have eventually made the area more lush with life. just like if a person died would make the ones around them stronger. everything and everyone has a purpose whether you see it or not.

    • Ok going back to listening to what Rob said, "Tree of life - Tree that supports life. The coconuts not used only purpose are to rot away. Use your life for good, go out there and be productive and positive and yield fruit. But if you just have a negative attitude you will just rot into the ground and be useless. Take everyday and be positive, motivated and grateful." While our bodies will feed the soil, the time we spent on this earth, he is saying make it count. Don't sit around and do nothing or be negative, because then you are not yielding good results for yourself or anyone. What you just said about changing your views to find purpose, is the same thing he is saying. But those who don't serve no other purpose then to rot and feed the land, their time is useless. Their body does the same thing poop does, fertilizes the ground.

  • Hey Rob. In India, coconut trees are the source of life all across the coastal belt, close to the oceans. During our hit Indian summers, coconuts are sold on the streets, and you get to drink the water and eat the flesh inside. The leaves of the coconut tree are also used to build homes or make broom sticks, the husk of the coconut is used in fire stoves and sometimes even as a scrub to clean utensils. The coconut itself is used in cooking, to make oil, etc.

  • Bula vinaka Ropate(Rob). In Fiji there's a saying that nothing is as useful as a coconut or coconut tree... from the nut you get food and water, from the shell- bowls, cups and firewood, from the husk - firewood and rope, from the leaves - baskets and shelter, the trunk is also used to make some real expensive furniture and at the top of the tree between the trunk and the leaves, the inner stem is also edible...
