Some other pokemon song I usually get bothered by the lack of song names on these showdown videos. They’re usually so good. Also Gholdengo stopping defog is unintuitive. Good as gold is said to protect Gholdengo from status changing moves; I know defog should protect Gholdengo from the evasiveness drop, but it is kinda dumb how it stops defog from affecting stage hazards too.
Wait until you hear that it stops Transform, since _technically_ Ditto has to target Gholdengo to be able to transform into it, but Gholdengo can just nope the move altogether on that basis alone.
"Some other pokemon song" Is Dewford Town from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald by the way. If you haven't played them, you should definitely give Emerald a try. Good classic games.

@@kamekmechanic80 the entire reason for that is that technically it targets a mon and lowers their evasion and removes all entry hazards instead of remove hazards and target a mon and lower evasion

Gholdengo is singlehandedly going to save stall if it doesn't get banned to ubers
Knowing one of the guys using stall at top ladder, gholdengo is as much a curse as a boon for stall. Since while it is mandatory on stall teams for maintaining hazards, its presence on offense also means that it's much easier to get chipped down by the insane offensive threats going around forcing you in under hazards too. Between that, it being hard to chip gholdengo down too due to it's typing, cyclizar and iron treads knock off removing boots and said threats making it much more difficult to find space to recover, gholdengo is singlehandedly one of the biggest obstacles for stall to overcome in every game it loads into.
Good new, ficello boy have avoided the ban hammer.
What about heavy-duty boots and tidy up maushold?
@@tensuraapple__5394 That requires using maushold in OU. And maushold kinda bad beyond its use in removal when stuff like great tusk and corv is running around to wall it and revenge it. You’re pretty much spending that team slot on something that’s only there for removal, rather than great tusk or iron treads, who add defensive utility and a lot of damage or a solid wall to a lot of threats and potential pivot respectively, while also giving you removal that works by threatening out gholdengo and spinning on the incoming mon. Which is why a lot of gholdengo run balloons, to come in on the EQs and headlong rushes from those mons.
@@thomasb2265Exactly, and Gholdengo is on litterally every competitively decent team, and then there's Chi Yu, I personaly love it however it is probably gonna get banned once the meta settles. Stall can't handle it either because it 2hko's Blissey in the sun with flamethrower, is faster and is a great counter to Gholdengo(not worth risking focus blast in what could be a game deciding turn) meaning it is on most teams, and has Nasty Plot on top of it. The meta is all about HO rn and stall might be unviable atm
The disrespect on using Defog at the end of the battle with Corviknight after you denied the opponent of every Defog in the entire game even when it didn’t matter is like-worthy in of itself

He looks like if Xavier: Renegade Angel talked the Apple Jacks Cinnamon guy into blowing all of his money on covering himself in gold.
That Pokemon is a menace since it effectively block hazard removal. It is a Ghost type so Rapid Spin won't work. It is a Steel type so Mortal Spin won't work too (a rapid spin, but poison type, and guarantees poison status on enemies hit). It also can't be defogged because of its ability. I think the only way to counter the hazards is Court Change.
Tidy Up still works as it doesn't target Ghodengo

Only counter is Corrsion+Mortal Spin, or Forsight+Rapid Spin. But who would even think to use that?

Gholdengo, the thing that not only blocks rapid spin, but also Defog, and Mortal Spin...it just blocks everything attempting to remove hazards
I've been trying this team out (with Talonflame instead of Avalugg for the Ape) and it's really fun! Goldy boi is really tough to deal with and should probs be banned
Hardcore stall teams are actually better now, since hyper offense got buffed with all these new hard hitters. It's balance teams that took a hit, as stall is much better against hyper offense than balance
You should use quaquaval weakness policy, moxie, aqua step and swords dance

I love funni CinnaMon String Cheese Midas-Touched Gold Dood with the Solid Gold Surfboard so much. He's a godsend in raids.
I like to run tera-ghost garganacl on gholdengo hazard stall, it's a great counter to corviknight if you can bait them into switching into salt cure. I like using this set Garganacl @ Leftovers Ability: Purifying Salt Tera Type: Ghost EVs: 252 HP, 52 Def, 204 SpD Careful Nature - Iron Defense - Recover - Salt Cure - Body Press It has great special/physical defense and a ton of bulk. It's only disadvantage is its typing, but if you tera purifying salt eliminates the weakness to ghost and this mon becomes the bulkiest spin-blocker in gen 9 OU. Roaring Moon (favorable nature, 252 Att EVs) deals max 48% with crunch and Chi-Yu (favorable nature, 252 SpA Evs) 35% with dark pulse. If you can get your defense raised 4 stages you completely outheal most physical damage from just leftovers.
Gholdengo is a great Pokémon to use almost anywhere, too bad it’s very tedious to obtain in the main series games.
it wasnt that tedious unles you didnt know where the chest forms spawn. each chest on average giving 50-60 coins and having lil chances of giving more than that i got 999 coins just from going to each watchtower and ruin and taking out the gimmighouls
@@ArcDemon74096 Which is easy given most allow you to fly back to them if it’s a tower. Plus you can hear the little guys whenever you pass by one. I only knew I had enough when it wouldn’t collect from roaming gimmighoul but it still ran off.

I don’t know why but the music choice at the start of the second battle gave me Needy Streamer Overload vibes and it was STRESSING me the hell out in the best way possible. Well second best if you include the very game it reminded of but you know what I mean

This shows us that, once again, it is the player/trainer that is dangerous, not the Pokemon Team they have. Even if the Stall has been nerfed, if you know how to use it, it will still be viable... and annoying.
This happened to me last game with a similar team + Amoongus and Hatterene so the type coverage was INSANE and I literally couldn’t hit anything. I went from 6-2 to 3-0 with Fire Florges, so it wasn’t all bad, but I still lost.
Stall is viable because gamefreak made it easy to use and widespread. Takes low skill and and makes the person playing it think they are good because the strategy is corny, cheap and for those who don't like actually playing a two sided game

@@wasperfly getting mad at stall is valid feeling. But I always like to think the guy doing it is playing 100 turns a game so its not fun for him either after like what 2 games haha. Can you imagine stall vs stall. People think playing against stall is suffering. The real suffering is playing stall.
People assume that just because recovery got nerfed it's become unviable. That's not true at all, Stall did get a nerf, but it got new tools too, like Gholdengo and Clodsire. It's still perfectly viable.

Gholdengo is the king of balance, not stall, he enables rocks and spikes with Ting Lu and lets beasts like Chien-Pao work, if you have Great Tusk tho it's easy to fight

Until you realize the gold boy has 2 immunities or 3 depending on tera choice and timing, immune to every status attack, has decent stats imo, decent attack spread imo..this gold boy is scary..

I love Gholdengo, and it 'seems' so easy and straightforward to use. Heavy Duty Boots Make it Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Recover Anyone know the Nature and EV Spread?
It is easy to use, I don't want to be that guy who hates on everything, but op ability, very good offensive and defensive typing, a spread draco meteor that only lowers sp.atk once instead of twice. Also really nice stats, if you include tera type which can be used offensively and defensively, that is a really strong pokemon....
Honestly, if that eiscue was a sub reversal set, you would have been dead to rights
And believe me, I have used this thing a lot in uu, and it has been successful in sweeping, reversal actually becomes stronger than icicle crash once fully set up, and to get to that point, you simply have to move your 4 hp evs into spedef

The move won't hit because it decreases evasion, the ability prevents stat drops and stat conditions

Some key stall mons lost good utility moves like pex losing knock/scald as well as the pp for recovery moves being nerfed.
