Stephen Chow (director and star of Shaolin Soccer) is at it again with his newest action-packed and comedic martial-arts adventure, KUNG FU HUSTLE. From wildly imaginative kung fu showdowns to dance sequences featuring tuxedoed mobsters, you've never seen action this outrageous and characters this zany! With jaw-dropping fight sequences by Yuen Wo Ping (famed action choreographer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Matrix), KUNG FU HUSTLE will blow you away! In a town ruled by the Axe Gang, Sing (Stephen Chow) desperately wants to become a member. He stumbles into a slum ruled by eccentric landlords who turn out to be kung fu masters in disguise. Sing's actions eventually cause the Axe Gang and the slumlords to engage in an explosive kung fu battle. Only one side will win and only one hero will emerge as the greatest kung fu master of all.

If anyone ever say "It's impossible to adapt anime fight into live action" Just show them this movie.
I love this part of movie: he finally found what he is made for, his purpouse od life.
beast change his life to beating him to death and actually awoken his inner potential.

Bruce Lee: Not bad, needs refinement but not bad.
1:42 Shoalin Soccer kicks in and from there it goes lol.
The first few seconds of this fight are actually pretty good. Best defense is movement and to not be there should a knife or ax for that matter be used against you.
God that stomping technique looks sick
In the Filipini Dub it was call "The Toe Crusher".
@@eltonjohntubola3212 same in the English dub
Damn 1:15 I didn't know Pimp Hand was a Kung Fu move!!

Sing- one of the most powerful one man army
This is based on a true story. Everything you see depicted here actually happened. 😉
Really? 🤔
@@thearyaputra Nah. I'm just being a jackass. It breaks up the monotony.
yep, everyone was high
They had to change some things as the fact that it was actually the machete gang not the age gang but aside from that yeah.
Loved everything about this movie especially all the references to older Hong Kong classic movies and popular Hollywood. There's reference to Enter the Dragon, Spider-man. Matrix in just this one scene.
Love Love Love Love Love Love movies like this 🌹🌹🌹🌹

Wish This clip never ended
Let's appreciate those stuntmen throwing themselves wonder if they still alive after that movie...
I wonder how many axedents happened on set.
Aarrgh! You must be pun-ished for that!
Gravity became a question mark.
This fight is reference from The Matrix Reloaded.
Both films had Yuen woo ping as their fight choreographer.
Just a part of it is. This has references to other films, too. Here Sing used a technique Bruce Lee used in The Big Boss (Tang Shan Da Xiong - 1971), this 1 Vs many happened in wuxia and martial arts films before like in The Boxer from Shantung (Ma Yong Zhen - 1972), where the main character fights a gang with sharp weapons and they also fight on stairs. Meanwhile, The Matrix got the concept from Fist of Legend (1994), where Jet Li's character fights alone vs many opponents and he one-shots them with kicks as well as throwing 1 of them onto other adversaries with his kicks, there's also slow motion parts, as they did in The Matrix.
@@ankaylance8279 well obviously the film is a huge spoof to all classic martial arts film
which came first? The Matrix battle between Neo and the Smith clones or this scene from Kung Fu Hustle?
The Matrix was first, but, The Matrix for the most part, they took many of their scenes and concepts from other films, primarily from "Koukaku Kidoutai (Ghost In The Shell) - Stand Alone Complex", an anime film based on a manga, those brothers watched that and they wanted to make it into a film, they even filmed shot by shot scenes from that anime.
The concept from this scene that you can see in The Matrix, it was made in Fist of Legend 1994, a film starring Jet Li, while 1 Vs many has existed in wuxia and martial arts films before, in Fist of Legend you can see the constant one-shot kicks on different targets, throwing 1 of them onto other fighters and even, the slow motions, The Matrix got it from there. Kung Fu Hustle referred to The Matrix as well as to other wuxia and martial arts films from Bruce Lee and The Boxer from Shantung (Ma Yong Zhen), where the latter has 1 fight scene of 1 Vs many on stairs against a gang with sharp weapons, like the Axe Gang Vs Sing in Kung Fu Hustler.
@@ankaylance8279 I understand what you mean about the one-man-army trope. I've seen it many times in many films. It was the bit with the axe-men/Smith clones fountaining upwards out of the epicenter of the battle. I watch a lot of martial arts movie clips but I've only recall seeing the bad guy rising en masse into the air like that in the Matrix and Kung Fu Hustle. Thanks for the cinema lesson.
Both films' action scenes were choreographed by the legendary Yuen Woo Ping. As well as Fist of Legend.
@@jandreidrn thank you, sincerely, for the cinema history lesson.
