    • Yes that's true, in my place here the subway , at their counter where they prepare and do the sandwich wrappings they have a spot where they actually check it sizes in front of the customer so it's up to us if we want longer than a foot we can also get it. If you want a foot they'll cut into half simple. It's very good actually and I love subway it's really awesome especially subway here they also serve cookies. My goodness their cookies are too die for. It's not really sweet but then you eat one and you will have a kinda craving to go for another cookies. Their cookies as big as the palm of my hand. Worth it really worth it.

  • As someone who worked for McDonald’s way back in the day (like almost everyone). Just ask for fresh fries if you want fresh fries. The person making fries has to basically pour the fries straight from the basket into the container in their hand (yes it burns) to get no salt fries. Your best bet going to any fast food place is asking for fresh food, but just know you’re going to wait.

    @YouWishYouWereAndrew@YouWishYouWereAndrew Жыл бұрын
    • For the fry hack at McDonald’s, getting fries without salt will always be fresh, because they always add salt to their fries, so to make some without, they make a fresh separate batch

I just can't have a lot of sodium, and sometimes I still have a craving for a small fry. I'm only human. Sorry guys :(

    • @@deardiarysincerelyme To be fair, I would assume they would know on our order anyway, because I order mine with no salt, and my fiance gets his with salt xD lol So we have one of each. Which I'm sure is equally annoying. But our McDs is super busy all the time so I'm pretty sure they are usually fresh anyway. I do still feel bad. • My method for reheating pizza is a little more involved but it legit has the best results. Heat my cast iron pan on medium high, make a little foil boat to hold the pizza, then pour a few tablespoons of water outside the boat. Cover and let steam for a couple minutes and you're left with pizza that has a crispy bottom but the crust doesn't harden like it does in the microwave. Or, you know, I just eat it directly from the box in the fridge, usually in my underwear in the middle of the night.

  • As a McDonald's worker if you come to order fries that are without salt we are forced to cook new ones and hand them in like that. However if you order something else together like a bic mac, it will get cold so its not worth it. Our oil friers have timers, once 7 minutes pass we need to toss away the fries since they are not fresh anymore

    • omg i hate it when people (especially when it’s drive thru) order fries without salt and then ask for salt after they get their order

      @carmencarkeys@carmencarkeys Жыл бұрын
    • I used to work night shift and when people would ask for no salt I would ask if they just wanted fresh fries. Almost every single person basically went "... yes.", or insisted on no salt then asked for salt in the bag lol They were always fresh anyways at the one I worked at, as we just scooped them out of a bag in the freezer and made them to order. At night we usually got 0-3 orders an hour that included fries, and people usually don't mind waiting if you tell them that's why. During the day it was a gamble because fry station workers were either too busy to pay attention to how long the pre-made no salt fries had been sitting there, or the order gets out once the fries are ready. Basically whether or not these kinds of haxx work depends a lot on how the place is run, and is why you get different answers from people (at another location I would sometimes help fill shifts where people were lazy and made a few batches at the beginning of the night they would re-heat then re-salt or not, so you didn't get fresh fries either way).

For normal fries they usually just make a large salted batch and grab out of that to save time, but for unsalted fries they have to make them to order (since the premade ones have salt on them). Ordering no salted fries just makes more work for the workers because they have to clean the workstation and etc. so there's no cross contamination of salt in the fries. McDonald's had to put out a statement saying that if you want fresh fries, JUST ASK for fresh.
