josh saying "ive never worked a 9 to 5 so I dont get it" and acknowledging that part of his success was luck is all anyone wanted. that is it.
Bri acknowledges hers is luck on her own accounts often. She got a tattoo last year "how lucky are we" with her team. I think everyone saw that one clip and made judgements. She even said on her podcast that if she new Dave was going to cut it off quickly she wouldn't had said anything.

it was more the fact that she doubled down and was like "my parents worked doubles everyday and never once complained!" and like was comparing working in high school and college to a 9-5. I love bri and I dont think she deserves all of the hate she's getting but I do think she handled this situation poorly. I also dont think any of the three of them understood the point of the video in the first place. The girl wasn't talking about how she hates her job, she was talking about how she is working all the time and still can barely afford to live, but all of them interpreted it as "ugh I hate my job" which is honestly very telling in itself. @@katie-234

I could tell from the first episode Bri came on- just how engaged and aware she was in her role and how serious she took it. I could tell it meant a lot to her. And usually if someone takes their job serious they are hard workers - in my experience

As a young woman working 9-5 five days a week, I kinda get what Dave is saying. You gotta work hard to get where you want to be. That’s life.
As another young woman working a 9-5 (ends up being 4am-4pm a lot tho), it’s about the fact that we do that and still can’t afford healthcare, rent (or mortgages), and want a little time to shower lol. It’s a completely different economy than when Dave worked a 9-5. We just want the payout to be worth it again and to not be treated the way Dave just exemplified. All that’s being asked for from Dave is a little empathy.

Money only takes the bills problem away and get many more problems when get money than when you didn't have any. It's all how you make out your life! Be happy or sad the choice is yours!
I agree with everything Dave said but I don’t have a problem with the girl complaining about how shitty life is. I’ve said the same things to my wife and most people have vented to a friend or somebody about being sick of working too hard too many hours not enough pay struggling to pay bills. We just don’t all share online like a lot of these kids do these days.
Find your own happiness. Stop settling for anything less. It’s hard to be happy.
The issue is that nowadays, the job doesn’t get rid of the bills issue. As a young woman working a 9-5 (sometimes ending up as 4am-4pm) I work extremely hard and hustle on the side but still can’t afford doctor’s appointments along with rent, car payments, and would hope to one day own a home. Dave worked a 9-5 in a VERY different economy, and if he were as smart as he acts like he is, he would have the brain power to recognize that the math nowadays doesn’t work out the same way.

I do hair I’ve been working 60 hour weeks all year I’m 23 and raised to work for what I have and find fullfilment and pride in the empire I’ve built. Hair is a competitive career as well as being an influencer. Not everyone get a chance like they have. Stop being bitter and work for what you have. Growing up below the poverty line and still having a mother that gives us anything we’ve wanted. Bc she worked her tail off. No one can judge another’s job. Everyone’s life’s different.
