The casting for Long Feng & VA for Wang Shi Tong (owl) has to be top tier. Those “villains” scared me as a kid so keep that energy for live action

Didn’t they already introduce Wan Shi Tong in the 5th episode, according to the cast, it’s Randall Duk Kim. Also George Takei as the face stealer is brilliant, but I do love seeing Arden Cho as June (MTV Teen Wolf fan here)

Tbh i wasn't hype for the show at first but after the first episode you gotta admit it's pretty good, the effects, the cast, everything was well done, can't wait for the next season

Considering all the cartoon live actions.. I have to say the actors fit their roles pretty good. I'm sure a lot of fans didn't like the storyline but with limited budget and limited episodes, you can't blame the directors as they had to fit what they can fit best. People wanted everything fit down to the T but yet no one talks about films like iron man and etc. I liked the show and hope to see season 2. I cant wait to see Ang started going beast mode using other bending styles. I think the point is to keep the fans wanting more and being thrilled for the next episodes to come.

Ian is amazing. I never thought I'd laugh out loud at "hey, is that a frog or a froggy thing?" But Katara carries the show for me ngl
Really? I feel like Ian and Dallas put a ton of passion in the role. I feel like Kiawentio and Gordon could be a bit better but they are definitely the youngest members of the main cast so I won't go too hard on em. They still are decent!

agree! Katara's acting is one of the best (along with iroh, ozai, suki's mom), I just find her movements when waterbending and other stuff a little bit awkward.

@@Jin_1398 I would personally say a solid 8/10. They really did a great job at casting, the effects and stuff are top tier and it does for the most part stay true to the original. My only critique is there's a few scenes that they don't include that really should have been. Since you can't really spoil the remake of a show made almost 2 decades ago I will just say they really neglected to show irohs true pain from Lu Tens death, the cabbage guy wasn't as prominent and the secret tunnel song was nerfed to the ground. They also left out the struggle Sokka had in accepting that women could fight. However, they did include scenes not seen in the original that were a welcome addition and very epic. 100% recommend watching this show though. Very well done live action adaptation

Season 2 I wanna see who they get to be The Boulder and if it’s an actual wrestler or bodybuilder for the role lol I kind of want to see Paul slowly get more fit so that by the third season or so, he’ll surprise everyone with his prison bod just like Daniel DAE Kim did as shirtless Ozai

@@Ganji1996 okay first off, too early to say Katara and Aang won't end up as a couple. Second, Zaheer's flight is involuntary. He even flies while meditating, so I assume the difference of flight between airbenders and the flight from Guru is that all airbenders can glide and even fly a little bit (just as how firebenders can always do fireblasts to fly) but not to the same amount of control as that of the perfected technique.
I really loved the show! I couldn't stop watching all episodes straight! Now waiting for our next season with toph so bad!

I just hope that the writers hold enough respect still for Mako and will not have Paul Sun-Hyung Lee sing Leaves from the vine. It was emotional enough just to hear the instrumental version of it play in the background of S1, but most importantly, it was Mako's song. I hope it remains that way.

Just finished watching it and I love how they changed some parts for the better especially Katara’s growth and becoming her own Master and then the part with Kiyoshi taking over and fighting was amazing to see.

i agree she is limited on her acting, and she happens to play a very pivotal character. most of them really need more acting coaching, and that's where i think a korean team would've done better with producing this kind of show. koreans are very particular with getting the casting right from the very beginning, and really coaching their actors on their acting

This show is once again the proof that Netflix is unable to understand and respect the soul of the shows it is dealing with. Only teenagers that are not fans of the original show might slightly appreciate a show like this. Just to mention one of the many mistakes this show fell into: if you portray the Spirit of the Ocean like a giant Godzilla/Kraken Koi carp punching the water like a Hulk, you clearly have ABSOLUTELY no idea of where Avatar The Last Airbender comes from. Also, even if you're making a live action version of an animated product, we don't expect a cosplay show with hollywood style VFX.
Agreed. They don't understand the "show, don't tell" aspect of the original. This is exactly how they also ruined the cowboy bebop live action. It's bad writing and bad directing.

If they do season 2, how are they gonna deal with Gordon sounding like that? Aang doesn't have a deeper teen voice, it's gonna be weird hearing Aang sound older when he should be 12 still.
They never mentioned the time left until the comet arrives in the Show. That way they made space for timeskips to avoid stuff like that.
