  • I had this package. I now have a VNL860. No offense but Volvo blows freightliner away in quality of the build. Probably because it’s built in the US compared to freight liner that’s built in Mexico. After a couple of years the plastic parts on the mirror falls off. The side skirting comes loose and will fall off if driving in high winds. And the paint starts chipping even nothing has hit it. I’ve had the drivers seat come apart and the seat covers start coming apart only after about a year of getting the truck brand new. On the screen behind the wheel a common issue is it freezes up when your driving. They are pretty much glorified Android tablets.

    @ConwayTruckload@ConwayTruckload4 ай бұрын

    • Appreciate the input sir! I’m just the salesman, I spec’d a couple of these in different colors for a local customer and they are loving them so far. Freightliner gets heat for the old ‘shaker’ reputation, but I say it honestly - call it bias, if you want - they are the most well-built, competitively priced, and most reliable trucks on the road. Lowest cost/mile and greatest network of service centers, when problems inevitably arise. They’ve all got their problems, of course, but I believe in this product - or I wouldn’t be selling it. Thank you, sir, stay safe out there and best of luck to you with everything 🫡🫡

  • Month ago, I bought a brand new 2024 Cascadia. From 1st day, digital screens are not working properly ( settings are not staying in memory. Every time, I must adjust settings after starting the engine ). Android auto play, power inverter stopped working in the first week. The power steering pump and ABS got to fix in the second week. In cold weather, have big temperatures difference between the driver and passenger side plus have water leak from roof. In one month, my truck already had 3 warranty repairs. For ABS, I got to pay $1000 . Freightliner will install new digital screens, BUT screens are not available, and they don't have any idea when they will be able to fix it. Water leak and temperature issue they are not able to find.

    • Water leaks are a big problem in cascadia, i had experienced with it.

      @bsmart4722@bsmart47225 ай бұрын
    • That sounds incredibly frustrating, and I sympathize, but I’ve not seen the problems with it. Granted I’ve only delivered one truck with the digital dash - but it hasn’t had any issues, with the screen or anything else. This will be the second. Having a dealer group that has your back is very important during the difficult times. If you can ever make it to a Truck Center Companies dealership (MN, IA, NE, and KS), and you’re in need of a solution, please feel free to call my cell (number in the video) and I’ll do anything I can to help get you taken care of and back on the road. I wish you the best, otherwise, and hope the truck issues settle and it can perform better for you.

    • The problem is, with the Cascadia being the number 1 truck sold and on the road, they mass produce them at a high rate so the quality isn't thoroughly checked the same way a Peterbilt or even Western Star would be, even though Western Star is owned by Freightliner. It's all about getting them out of the factory ASAP. I love the Cascadia and they clearly have some nice features but foe the extra money, I'd stick with the Peterbilt 579 and a Cummins engine. The "DD" is garbage compared to the old 60 Series. The 579 has everything you want and need while still getting the same fuel mileage but the 579 is bigger and ALOT more comfortable. It'd definitely worth the extra money.

      @aq7828@aq78284 ай бұрын
    • Well, FRTL and WST are built in the same factory, and come off the line sporadic - you might have a M2 come off the line, followed by a Cascadia day cab, followed by a 49X, and maybe a 108SD after that. They’re all inspected the same. Mishaps will happen - and it’s an egg on their face every time. But see the comment above where the guy said his new Pete had a leaky roof. I feel horrible for customers when that happens, and I’ll always go to bat for them; which sadly is the best I can do, to be totally honest - our dealership is a customer of the OEMs too. Our dealership does great with customer service - better than any other I’d say. I hear what you’re saying, but comparing to perfect is silly, when they all have flaws. I am happy to hear your Pete has made you happy - it’s good when others succeed. But, if you’re ever in the area, stop in. I’ll show you a few things, you show me some things you like on yours, and we’ll both be better from it in the end. Appreciate you watching, hope you’ll subscribe, and would love to shake hands someday 🤝👍

    • Wrong. Can get a Murphy bed/dinette in Cascadia if you want, but this guy wanted this setup. Also, Freightliner is the only OEM to offer Lane Keep Assist; which includes the secondary steering gear allowing a guy to spin the wheel with a pinky while stationary. Nobody else has anything like it. Freightliner/wst DOMINATE the competition

    @sashasandeepverma5835@sashasandeepverma58353 ай бұрын
    • Happy to help. Obviously people love Cummins because they’ve always been able to get them - but that’s part of the issue with them in my opinion, they’ve really not made any significant improvements. Also, many Cummins guys may have had 60-series but never had DD15 (or any DD motor past the 60) - so they’ll defer to Cummins based on simply not wanting to ‘take a chance’. But go with Detroit; better design (in my opinion), better warranty, and the Freightliner is built for them (same parent company, DTNA) ; so you have any option you want for adaptive cruise, active braking (even in traffic - very handy), lane keep assist, and so much more. With Freightliner you’re limited on features if you go Cummins, and there are virtually no advantages to Cummins. They only offer it to capture Cummins-loyal guys that are dipping their toes in Freightliner/Western Star - and almost all of those guys eventually transition to Detroit. Hope that helps. Call anytime though if I can help you 👍

    • You can put any refrigerator you’d like in these, they come prepped with a platform, strap to secure the unit, and convenient outlet. The reason this customer selected this fridge, under my advisement, was due to the factory swivel TV mount. This way he could fit his 26” flat panel tv, positioned above the refrigerator (but still able to swivel) without blocking the window on the RH wall, and the large baggage door it’s fixed within.

As someone who’s delivered these trucks from the factory and been in trucking for over 35 years, the fit and finish and overall quality of these trucks is at the complete bottom of the pile. This can not be owner operator choice. I do not know about future. But, it is not cost effective approach now. You worship freightliner so much. But, it is totally corrupted company in my opinion. Nobody trust plastic front bumper for instance. Once, deer hit it, it costs thousands of dollars to repair. But, truck manufacturers are careless to put up plastic bumper for making additional service dollars obviously. why dont you put up deer guard bumper up front as owner operator edition? that is the way to go today. who can afford over 10% financing loan? their engine start/stop AC system breaks down easy, and cosume too much battery juice. We have jump started so many times for freightliner truck. Yes, they introduce lots of new technology to truck. But, they use truck drivers to do duarability test at their pocket money. So much flex in the bodies that caused interior plastics to loosen and break constantly. I've got a t660 with the cummins. 1.2 million miles, never been opened up except to adjust top end. Still original clutch. My 587 peterbilt w/ cummins is at 1.6 million. It has had a rear main seal and front structure resealed. My 389 is at 640k w/ cummins. Not a single drip anywhere. Real professionals go with the time. Maybe as a real professional you will never you GPS or a smartphone, because its not oldschool enough. Oh and i dont forget, eyes of professionals never get old! The digital dash is not new. Everything what is declareted "new" for the average north american trucker is just approved since years in Europe. When Daimler introduced the Mercedes New Actros in Europe in 2019, they introduced the digital dash. Freightliner as just one brand of Daimler Trucks gets always the new things later and they digital dash is one to one the same. And now something strange for you: The digital dash in Europe works fine. Maybe the drivers are just decades ahead of thinking.

But for those looking to get 9mpg, have warranty, and unmatched comfort (those that can afford to) - a new Cascadia is the best option for the money. That’s why they’re over 40% of trucks on the road..

  • The individual doing this video needs to do less talking. Or get a real salesman with a real knowledge

    • I appreciate the feedback. I can focus more on details, I’m just trying to avoid being ‘just another boring salesman pitching a product’ and make it a little fun. But I’ve been thinking, watching others that I enjoy, and yeah - I’ll be more informative. Let me know if there’s anything you want another video of, or anything specific you’d like to learn about and I’ll do my research and shoot a vid. So, thank you for the feedback, I’ll hope to see more in the future from ya. Have a great New Year’s!🎉
