Police said his rights didn't matter, but they didn't know another camera was watching...

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's traffic stop, allegedly conducted for excessive window tinting, led to a fishing expedition that stranded an innocent passenger at night without her phone, wallet, keys or transportation. But cop watchers @laurasharkcw @tomzebra and @jodiekatmedia appeared on the scene to hold LASD accountable and to assist the stranded passenger. This week on the Police Accountability Report, hosts Taya Graham and Stephen Janis speak with Tom and Laura about the encounter and discuss what this case reveals about the phenomenon of over policing and the incentive structure behind the questionable allocation of police time and resources.

I have personally witnessed inappropriate Fayetteville,NC Police Department behavior. I was assigned to walk along with 2-Fayetteville Police Officers in the 500 Block of Haystreet. This area of downtown Fayetteville consisted of top less bars w/Go-Go dancers. Prostitutes on the streets overt and covert. This special liaison of having a Uniformed MP from the Ft Bragg Provost Marshallsw/the Fayetteville Police was due to so many arrests of Army soldiers. This particular night one of the Police Officers detained a young man behind a building and shocked him w/ a Special kind of Baton. This Baton had 2-silver probes extending from the end. The guy was shocked multiple times w/this Cattle Prod type baton. Then Officer told "don't let me catch you downtown Fayetteville again". I was in shock vs scared vs paralyzed by fear to say anything🥺😨. I went on to become a MP Investigator. Even in that role, (I now had more Formal Training & Clout) I would not let certain Military Police take people we apprehended to the bathroom. I did not want these guys beaten and have to go to Womach Army Hospital before their Company Commander would come and sign them out of the MP Station Jail vs Holding Tank. It is crying shame the Abuse and Intimidation that some people have suffered at the hands of Law Enforcement personnel. God Above In Heaven Is Watching.I 👏 applaud the Cop Watchers here on earth. Taking a traffic stop and inventing a multitude of charges creates fines. Fines paid to the city. Arresting felons often costs the police department. Chases through the city, property damage, damaged vehicles, all this serious crime, wear and tear on police equipment this will be their argument for more money in their budget next year.

  • It's a disgrace how the police treat citizens. And I think this man being black is also a reason. These lying bullys are not worth their uniforms. If the cops say suspicious, or I smell, you're 100% screwed.

    • Absolutely. I'm not black but I'm glad I got out of California and the US 30 years ago. The treatment of African Americans by "the system" there is heartbreaking. I don't deny crime by blacks, but it is a crime against humanity to arrest and harass people simply for being black.

    • don't race-bait. That's what NPCs do. This issue is something that affects ALL citizens. The race doesn't matter. There are countless videos of instances happening where the oppressive officer is also black. When you needlessly race-bait you discredit the whole movement. You need to rise above it.

  • The cops do this for two reasons. 1) Laziness. As long as they are tied up with one of these stops, they don’t have to do anything else, and 2) Fear. They can spend maximum time on a stop like this where they know they are in no danger of being called to a real crime where they would surely be exposed as inept. This is their daily routine which is designed to keep them from doing their real job.

After doing that he switched to bankruptcy law, because " he said the deck was stacked against the public and defense attorneys " he told me " on his first day at work, the head attorney that was in charge told my son ( " 90% of all cases you will probably lose, so get use to it, or get out " ) so my son got out quick, he told me, the way laws are written and because of the police, the prosecutors and the judges, is a fail - fail - fail deal for the average citizen
