  • I was 12 just in 1982, i can hear mum & dad laughing still as i was in bed trying to sleep, the two of them where just superb, others aswell. My mum told some years later when we sat and talked about the past as i was older, and she always said it wasnt just the actors who where great ofcourse but we had great writers and they get overlooked, but without going on i always think about the past and they where great times, i was lucky. Godbless them both.

  • 34 Michael McIntyre fans stuck their thumbs down. This is comedy from a time where you didn't need to swear or be offensive. Harmless family stuff. Shame it was probably one of the last ones before they packed up. I remember watching this with my grandma when I was 11. Christmas memories, this always takes me back. Easy to pick at something 30+ years old. But I think it has become fashionable to have a go at what came before. Let's see what new "comedy" on TV now will be being watched 35 years on!

It was so funny though when my daughter first saw Ronnie Corbett. He was a guest on Strictly Come Dancing and when he came down the stairs my daughter said "Who's that little man?" "Well it's Ronnie Corbett". "But he's so little Mum. Is he a real person?" "Yes, he's just short." "Well, I don't think he is real. He must be a robot man or something. He is very funny though." "Well, yes, that's his job." My daughter and I often have these surreal conversations.

  • Right, so, opening sketch. Chas and Dave. Chas and Dave Christmas Special 1982 was EXACTLY like this and was brilliant - and it's on KZhead and still shown on British TV some Christmases. Look on imdb - both this and the real Chas and Dave were shown on the same day in 1982. How?? And why?? I don't have the times of day for either show. But there is a radio Times archive I may look into. How did they get access, and it would be a pretty clever joke of the Chas and Dave was shown earlier in the day than this.
