  • The fuchsia looks so good on Ava! I love the style of the Haskell and I can see how so many people will want to make it, specially after your tutorial!

  • Two really lovely examples of the Haskell. I'm putting this one aside for the moment as I'm concentrating (or at least attempting to) on sewing my capsule wardrobes for Autumn and Winter and because I am on the other side of the world and have the Spring capsule from Everyday style already, I've got this one planned and ready to go also. So many projects to go on with so the Haskell will probably get sewn up here around November I think in preparation for our summer. I can imagine it will be very frequently worn for sure. In fact I think it would be a good one for my eldest daughter learn to make for herself (when she finally gets her new machine out of it's box) and I can walk her through it as she badly needs new cloths and I am very time poor right now. At the moment I'm still trying to sit for long enough to finish my Jenna shirtdress and Jenna shirt plus the Fran pyjamas that I started before my hip replacement surgery. I'm not allowed to sit for too long so have to break the sewing up with other things. So I have a few hand stitching projects I could do that are fashion related plus dying fabric which I've actually never done before in order to utilise what I have.

  • Eva’s Haskell blouse is beautiful. I watched your sew along the other day, such an interesting way to enclose everything! Cashmerette really has a winner here. There is no other pattern company I’ve found that I have to do so few adjustments for. An it’s typically just length for my 5’2” frame. A little plug for your class, Shirtmaking 101, it’s well worth it!❤

  • I am working on the Aria Button down blouse just need to find some Buttons. I tried the binding method that you use for curved hems. What a revelation!!! I don’t think k I have ever gotten a curved hem so smooth.

  • Thanks for the review! I haven't as yet watched the sew along video, saving it for Sunday, as I really miss your Sunday video releases! I really love Fashion Sewing Supplys interfacing. Kinda hooked on Pams' offerings. A suggestion about interfacings for silk (and boucle) fabrics is that I was making a knock-off of the Chanel "Devil Wears Prada" jacket for my youngest daughter. The shell is a black boucle and I needed interfacing for the collar and lapel areas. I didn't have a suitable black, but did have black silk organza in the stash, and decided to give it a try. Honestly Whitney, it worked SO WELL. Just enough stiffness and support (the fabric is boucle, but rather lightweight) without adding extra bulk. I'm sold on that for specific fabric/applications. Anyway, just a thought! Love the shirt. I love campshirts. 🙂

  • Beautiful shirts Whitney! Yours is fun with all the contrasting colors and Ava’s is absolutely gorgeous. I really need to get my sewjo back so I can use all the pretty fabrics I’ve been accumulating.😉. I will check out your sew along video for the clean finish technique. Thanks! Btw- we have a bit of snow today🤯

  • Can the new yoke technique be done with any shirt pattern, or do you have to cut the pattern especially with that in mind?

    @helenwood3199@helenwood3199Ай бұрын
    • You could do this with any yoked shirt pattern with a facing!

      @TomKatStitchery@TomKatStitcheryАй бұрын
  • Have you tried using French Darts? This method removed the bulk in the bodice darts. It is tricky and I suggest test your skills before making the French Darts on fashion fabric. Great method for sheer fabrics.

    @evalucilledixon3879@evalucilledixon3879Ай бұрын
    • Do you mean doing a French seam on the dart? I did that method when I made my daughter's shirt since I was using French seams throughout the rest of the shirt!

  • Hi Whitney, both shirts are great. I'm thinking about cotton lawn (Liberty) for a Haskell. I'm worried the gathers will stand out. Thoughts?

    @vannahhall915@vannahhall915Ай бұрын
    • The shirt that I made for myself was done in a cotton lawn and I think it lays really nicely. I think you'd be just fine using a Liberty lawn!

  • Would that burrito work with a set in sleeve?

    @katealtschuler2880@katealtschuler2880Ай бұрын

    • Wondering the same thing... it seems all their patterns are aimed towards big busted women.

      @rosaliecreations@rosaliecreationsАй бұрын
    • Yes. Jenni has a small bust and I've made Cashmerette patterns for her with success, we just use the smallest cup size.
