Debs will never win at hide and seek again ?
Very interesting bit of kit and would like one, but even the cheaper topdon is way out of my budget, it's something that would get used once in a blue moon providing I've not lost it in that special safe place where stuff always goes, I'll just have to stick with the lazer pointer type temperature reader all the pandemic folks used, right back to fixing the core plugs on my V8 RRC...
Yes, I had a laser pointer a while back, but (as they say) seeing the bigger picture is a different thing. I think a classic example was seeing the exhaust manifold temperatures on the 2.5 NA when I had 4 'new' injectors fitted but only 2 were working correctly
So as a reliability technician we use Flir camera's with build in laser pointers and it's mainly for reporting. So when you take the ir picture and then the normal photo, you can point to the faulty component in the high voltage cabinet to make it easier for the clients to repair. The scale on the top that is at 100 could be the emissivity for scanning humans it should be 0,98 and general electrical use 0,95. The emissivity of insulation tape(3m 1710) is 0,95. And you cannot accurately scan shiny metal surfaces to get an accurate temperature. I have no idea what the batteries in the handle do, but have you tried just plugging the Camera directly into your phone? I have an very good idea what this could be used for, so let me know if it works without the hand held trigger thingy.
Yes you can plug it into your phone directly
So for accurate temperature scanning I would go for the new Flir One pro unit, just because I believe they make the best cameras. With that said, the Chinese unit is obviously not for close accurate scanning. So I would mount it in my car's grill and run a USB c cable back into the cab. I would get a wireless phone charger and plug the USB c into the phone. Now your phone is charging and you have thermal vision in your car and the region of South Africa where I'm from we get heavy fog, so now you could see through the fog. The Mercedes s63 amg had something like this called night view assist. kzhead.info/sun/gJqCqs6raodud3A/bejne.htmlsi=RrGkHfNIwKuAnGbY
You might sign up for a night collages Chinese language program, it might come in handy- You need 2 phones: one for the day and one for the night! After graduating Chinese , youmight be able to read the instruction and find-out how to adjust the temp reading and zoom.
Lol!
I could see the xinfrared perhaps being useful in the search for missing persons, but why would it need access to a sound app?...
Yeap that app had now been deleted
"Never ascribe to malice that which been be explained by stupidity." Poorly written apps often request all sorts of permissions because the dev has just block copied chunks of code from wherever. Proper spyware will make itself apparent by keeping the phone awake and flattening the battery quickly.
Great for your little bandits! 😱🙈😂👍🏻🙏
They are!
Can't afford to go out in the UK now....too much tax on everything including beer.
That's just what I need do you know the cost.?
Which one?
Something wrong with your garage door hinges. :)
I needed the bolts for a special job!
Not accurate enough for the intended use if it's Land Rover based. Like you, not keen on anything that needs permission to access various phone apps.
It was way off and also when you took a pic or video with the temps on (like I did with the transfer cases) the numbers do not come out on the end image - useless
