    • No, Putin gave him at least half of what he asked for years ago. Shoigu wanted to retire after the PREVIOUS election. But Putin asked him to stay on. Now, he's getting a drastically less stressful job, but is still around to do the job he's been doing VERY well for the last decade. So, half the retirement he wanted.

Why do we have to treat it like some big event that actually changes very little on the battlefield? • My thoughts too. If there's anything more important for Russia at this critical moment, it is refreshing their stockpile to reinforce their progress and make the offensive sustainable. Economist DM is there to complement this. Also taking Shoigu off his post, diffuses the already volatile situation amongst the contemptuous generals and putting the neutral economist on the role means that there will no longer be a throne for them to fight for, quelling the unrest.

  • It's likely this is more about arms production than battlefield performance. The role is more of a ministerial than military command role (despite the uniform). Bear in mind that Shoigu was an engineer, urban planner, and then disaster relief / internal security head, so not really from a military background. He hasn't been visible (and likely not very involved) for perhaps a year. Keeping the role on paper has been his reward for loyalty. It's likely this is more about arms production than battlefield performance. Belousov's task will almost certainly be to actually put Russia's economy on a war footing.

They have all the "new territories" with zero infrastructure on them and this is important because Russia lacks undeveloped land so much? 90+ % of its territory is underdeveloped, there was pipe conection of Russian gas to the Itally and in the same time you only needed to move 100km from Moscow to have small cities and vilages that are not conected to this pipe system to this very day! Hard truth? 😅 Germany during WW1 was able to kick Russians out of the war and were never kicked out of the "new territories" in France... they literally capitulated when the front line was not deep into French territory... Putin is hiring people like you to pretend that it is all going well and in the same time we see Russian T-55 tanks in Ukraine because no more T-72 left... not to mention T80 or T-90 or all the constant spaming by people like you about T-14 Armata and how supperior it is in comparison to every other tank on this planet. • Whyever would Russia want a scapegoat? They've completely crushed the Ukraine military AND demilitarised both the EU and Nato to such a point that USA has been unable to hold artillery training as normal for 2 years now. Germany has enough ammunition to fight 2 weeks of war, or 2 days at the intensity of SMO. And just during 2022, Germany lost around 30% of its industry. UK has no more missiles, its ships are falling apart, a grand total of 38 tanks and would be hard pressed to put more than 38 thousand troops anywhere away from their home bases. France, lol, they can maybe deploy 20 thousand troops abroad, barely. They have barely any ammo for heavy weapons though. Etc etc... The EU is selfdestructing thanks to the sanctions and USA is following roughly the same track, just slower, but at the same time is also reaching epic levels of financial incompetence, for the first time ever spending twice as much as it is getting from taxes, and racking up 1 trillion more in debt every 3 months. While Russia's economy is doing better than EVER before, civillian industry growing by over 7% in 2023, and overall economy probably went up with around 4%, possibly 5%, final numbers pending. Russia is crushing the west and will simply because of the wests idiocy very likely end up having to annex all the Russianspeaking parts of Ukraine and possibly all the way forward so the new border becomes from western borders of Kiev oblast to Odessa oblast.
