'Every Guitar Hero Needs a Ballad'.
That is what our co-founder Jan Cyrka said when we decided to create our first ever JTC original full length album. Vai, Satriani, you name them...they have one!
So we spoke to a number of the artists on our glittering roster and asked them to compose their ultimate ballad. The result is a powerful album that is full of pure emotion and drive and takes you on a journey through the minds of 11 incredibly talented guitar players and composers.
Starting with Andy James' 'The Wind That Shakes The Heart' (which was written by Jan Cyrka and James Graydon) the emotion sucks you in from the first note, just as you would expect from a brilliant ballad track. The scene is then set and from there, all 11 JTC artists continue the same trend with their own individual take on the ultimate ballad.
Any album that has brand new original tracks from the likes of Guthrie Govan, Alex Hutchings, Marco Sfogli, Jack Thammarat and more should be in any guitar players collection, there is no questioning that. However, we have gone the extra mile and provided you with 3 options!
1 - Just the album
2 - Just the backings, complete with full transcriptions and 5 bonus videos (Andy James, Jack Thammarat, Marco Sfogli, Feodor Dosumov and Al Joseph)
3 - The Deluxe edition, which contains all of the above!
4 - Physical CD
So, are you ready for over 50 minutes of ultimate ballads?

  • Guitar music is an art - I'm glad Andy and others keep the art of guitar front and center offering up new ideas and views. As I read all the comments, the art of guitar is not a competition as each artist paints his own - we shouldn't feel bad if we personally cannot replicate what he does, suggest other artist are better, nor bash him for a single video out of many he contributes. Thanks Andy for all you do, I appreciate it!

    • Agreed! Music in and of itself is simply empathic expression. What you feel is what you play. Andy James knows how to externalize his feelings into his instrument. So many people in this world could benefit from learning to play an instrument and using it as an outlet. Beautiful little ballad here!

  • I had a thought on a possible cool project for you guys, I think it would cool to say, take 1 single rock or ballad backing track, and get different guys to play there versions and styles over the track, so you have guthrie, andy james, josh smith, alex hutchings all playing there own take over a single 'track'. would be awesome to compare mindsets and licks etc, could sell it like an small album..

    • It's a good idea! We did do something similar a while back called the JTC Mega Jam. You can get this at the site plus the video is on KZhead. Maybe we can revisit doing more!

      @JTCGuitar@JTCGuitar9 жыл бұрын
    • Jamtrackcentral.com that would be amazing! just think how that would turn out if each of them knew nothing about what the others were doing. Not a jam because it would mean they would feed off one another and there are already many jams circulating about. But! Completely separate approaches in their own special way over the same backing track. I'd buy it for sure.

      @warriorjudo@warriorjudo9 жыл бұрын
    • Jamtrackcentral.com You could also do a similar idea but with unknown guitarists, and have it as a competition or something to get featured on your channel. Allow lesser known guitarists to download a track, jam to it and send it to you, then edit it as you see fit, including clips from your favourite solos from some of the entries like a super jam :)

Those of us that do play don't really care about lame comments or dislikes at all & if you can play better share it , if you can't keep practicing but don't bad mouth & player that is better than yourself. • NorthernDragon That's right bro, it's not all about shredding it's about feeling and letting the song breathe along with dynamics and messing with tempo imho.

    • NorthernDragon totally agree... I get sick of hearing twiddly twiddly twiddly twiddly twiddly guitar playing. This guy can do that, but chooses not to, or at least places it where it needs to be. That is the mark of a true musician, not a poser. Nice piece.
