as a dutch guy this makes me proud to see. always good to see foreigners go outside of just amsterdam and also try dutch foods at the same time
I love their buildings, nature and food! Such a beautiful country 🇳🇱
omg yes also frikandel
@@GeorgeJapan ty :)
@@4Evermusic hahah yeah i told my english friends about de frikandel, when they visit they really wanna try them XD
@@Ganjaqueen92 haha I hope they love it
As a Dutch antillean, this video puts a smile on my face. Even though I am not from the Netherlands, erwtensoep is still one of my comfort foods of all time. 🇳🇱
Thank you for watching!🇳🇱
Oe ja!! Met veel karbonaatjes😄😄
You are from the Antilles, you are from the Netherlands. 🇦🇼 🇨🇼 🇧🇶 🤝 🇳🇱
Erwtensoep is vies
People tend to forget, but Dutch cheese is typically Dutch and very popular. I once saw a video of some Moroccan men who lived in the Netherlands for a while. What they missed the most of the Netherlands (in general) was old cheese.
I'm Moroccan i been to NL twice.. The cheese is great there... I also miss the Dutch fries.. So good
@@zoom3100 To be honest, the credits for the fries should go to our southern neighbours Belgium and France.
Thanks for the video, just a few niggles for those viewing this and also visiting the Netherlands: The Bossche bol is available all over in the netherlands, but of course 's Hertogenbosch has the best ;-) We're fine with dipping a sausage roll in Ketchup, doesn't matter at all. The stroopwafel is indeed never with anything added...and the Luikse Wafel is from Belgium --> but stroopwafels are much better. The erwten soup you got from 'la place' which is a (very good) but not traditional Dutch chain / despite the French name, should have been gotten at a real Dutch local restaurant. And finally: drinking it with Fristi is a horrible combination to be honoust
but only the Bossche bollen van de Groot are the real deal
as a dutch person, I also put ketchup so don't worry 😂 love to see people looking at some of our foods and snacks, despite being known for terrible and no flavourful food (which is partially understandable 😂), next time hope you try some of our fried foods and stampot possibly :)
Me getting the Dutch 'curry' immediately. Zero shame
Zaanse mayonaise bij worstenbroodjes, die dingen zijn zo droog.
I never seen anybody not like stroopwafels. I think everybody loves them! 😊
True🧇🧇
If you don't like stroopwafel, you're a zombie!
@@josephbrowning4220 exactly right!
and that's a fact :P
XD Im so sorry but I used to not like them at all XD But I do nowadays!
bossche bollen are definitely not only a thing in den bosch! especially around kingsday you'll find them all around with an orange chocolate layer and maybe a tiny dutch flag in it. always love to see these videos :D
Yes but obviously the tastiest Bossche Bollen are from ‘s Hertogenbosch ;)
@@Lara-rm3gs i mean if you say so haha
Dankjewel hahahah je hebt ze overal
Those are “moorkoppen”
@@OP-1000 no, i meant bossche bollen, but yes there are moorkoppen elsewhere too!
Nice to see this for me as Dutch men😂
Thank you for watching!🇳🇱
I love it didn't expect to see a youtube video of someone visiting Den Bosch usually everyone only goes to Amsterdam and the surroundings.
Don’t forget to try our fried foods. Bitterballen, frikandel, kroket etc. You’ll love those!
I knew EVERY place you have gone too because i go to there very often, glad you like it :)
Parabéns pelos ótimos vídeos. Da até vontade de sair viajando igual você.
As a dutch person I really enjoy hearing what you like about the Netherlands and think is cool. Because even though I’m really really glad that i live here, i never really think any of the dishes taste great or that culture here is interesting.
Thank you for watching! Dutch dishes are really interesting for me🇳🇱
Huh ? The Netherlands is literally FULL of culture ! History, art, music, architecture ! Known all around the world except not by Dutch youth appearently...
I think if you live somewere and you are used to it and might not see the beauty of it
Welcome to the Netherlands! I hope some of your other hosts have you try some kibbeling and herring. Being surrounded by so much sea, fish is very important to Dutch foods! Especially the herring, you have to try it with onions and you have to eat it the Dutch way ;) You should also have some hutspot for dinner! It has an interesting history!
Agree with this, please try the kibbeling and herring :)
☕🍝🍲🥣🍅🍍🍊🍑🍉🍎🍒🍓, muitas frutas.
Especially since in Japan they also really eat a lot of seafood, but its totally different here
Yeah I’ll definitely try those before I leave here🇳🇱🐟
@@GeorgeJapan Yay! Hit me up if you can't find anyone else to have you try them 😋
Nice upload!
That's my city! Glad you enjoyed!
Behind you at the Stroopwafel place, there was a hema. You could have gotten the traditional and hard to eat roze koek (pink cake).
Oh I should’ve tried that as well!
you mean a Tompouce? Roze koeken aren't that hard to eat....
Georgie Porgie, I cannot believe the order you ate things! I would not be able to eat Dutch soup after that strawberry drink! You are so polite! And fancy saying you shouldn't eat a bread roll version of a sausage roll (pastry) without T sauce? In Oz, it is law that you must eat pies and sausage rolls with T sauce! Anyway, can hardly wait to see how you go in Amsterdam!!! Ask to be taken to a good cafe...😳 that should be fun!😂
Yeah T sauce makes those perfect 😋 It should be law everywhere hahaha
Love the vid! I would really recommend you to go to the amusement park the Efteling while you are in the Netherlands. You would love it!
Im hoping to visit japan later this year, hope you enjoy your time in the Netherlands 😊
Hey George, I like how you went to different places in The Netherlands, gives you more of a complete view of our country.
glad someone is visiting my country very interesting to see other people try food and stuff
I really enjoyed the food there!😋 and the city is so beautiful 🇳🇱
this reminds me of my cousins husband who is also japanese when he first came to the Netherlands trying all the dutch food and drinks and stuff, great video.
I live in the town of Rosmalen which is right next to Den Bosch, I've been there many many many times. I watch travel vlogs often, usually about foreign cities but sometimes about Amsterdam, but this is the first time I've seen a vlog about Den Bosch. Very interesting to see it from your perspective and see you try some local stuff! Loved the video :)
ik ook
I live in den bosch. Glad you enjoyed it :)
you still need to test out frikandellenbroodjes there are also super good and the bread also!
You have a new subcriber from Friesland..very nice video's
you should come to Kerkdriel, it is close to Den Bosch like 20 mins drive. My parents have a restaurant with all kinds of dutch snacks. You should come try :)
I really appreciate you exploring The Netherlands outside of Amsterdam. It looked like you were having a lot of fun. And I love your pronunciation of ’s-Hertogenbosch.👍🌷✨Next time I recommend you to explore Den Haag as well. It's a nice city with a lot of beautiful buildings, museums and good food.
Love to see that you're having the 'worstenbroodje' sausage bread with ketchup. I, as a Dutchie myself, most of the times have it with ketchup as well. It makes it even better! :D
The waffle looked really good! Are we going to see you travel around by bike?? Thanks for the video, great job as always!
Oh haven’t really thought about it! That’d be awesome🤩
If you're still in The Netherlands, please try Surinamese food, especially the roti chicken, the bara, Saoto soup. Trust me, you wont regret it, many dutch people love the surinamese cuisine.
We have Tante Wonnie in Den Bosch!
Yes! Roti with Kousenband is absolutely perfect...and I'm happy to see you consider it almost a Dutch food now, as we see it a bit the same, but there's always the 'colonial' thing sometimes (in discussions)
im sure japan knows about indian food
So weird, KZhead didn't notify me about this video. I saw this stroopwafel in another KZhead channel and since I dream about it! Must be delicious ! So crunch ❤ the soup seems delicious. I love soup and bread ❤ best combination
The stroop waffle is a must-try food!🧇🇳🇱
so the burger king in th station itself is amazing went to their every so often with my buddys from veva college
As a Dutch person that lives in Den Bosch I’m very happy you visited this underated town/city
You had to try the sausage bread with curry saus that that’s sooo delicious 😋
The sausage bread is nice with curry and the Bossche bol you can find it also in Rotterdam and probably in other parts of the Netherlands too 👍🏽
I would love to get fresh stroopwafel! Also, I loved the sound of the music machine. it was like being on the carousel ride. Also, that soup looked so good. Would be perfect on a cold day.
The soup was pretty good! It really warmed me up😊
That giant chocolate cream puff was really calling to me. 😋 It looked so amazing!
It was amazing!!
they're great :D
as a dutch person i think they are alright tasting but they make me kind of nauseaus because it's so sweet
the chocolade balls you find everywhere in the netherlands^^
Once again I want to thank you George for sharing this trip. I want to go to Belgium now. Looking forward to seeing how brave you’ll be in Amsterdam 😂😂
Hahaha thank you for watching!🇳🇱
That Bossche Bollen looked AMAZING, so fluffy 🥰
It was so good😋
As a dutch person, i love to see you enjoy this food! But woah, you ate a lot in so little time 😂 after only the bossche bol (chocolate ball) i would have been completely full. Great to have ya here!
Hahaha I was so hungry! I really enjoyed the food there😋🇳🇱
Bossche bollen ftw! Great to see people venture outside of Amsterdam when in the Netherlands
You can definitely eat a worstenbroodje (sausage bread) with ketchup. Of course, it's just preference, but I've always eaten mine with ketchup ever since I was little. :) Great video! I love to see your reactions to all the world's foods :D
Bossesche bol you can get everywhere in the netherlands. Worstenbroodje goes very well with curry sauce or mayo. The ertensoep is warmed up mush and looks like crap from a lunch roomchain.
3:18 try that with Maggi dutch alternative for salt and pepper lots of people do it.
you can find bosche bollen everyone in the netherlands… but their originally from den bosch and are the tastiest there
Chocolate ball, hot dog pastry, waffle, soup, OMG!!!! in how much time😅?You’re a champion George! PS: If you have time in the Netherlands, go to the Frisia region, worth visiting, mixed region between NL and Germany
I ate those in 3 hours hahaha Ok, I’ll go there if I have time🇳🇱
Not mixed region but a ton of history behind it as it used to be separate from netherlands.
George try our deepfried stuff at the snackbars, we dutch deepfry the craziest stuff but it's all soooo good. I recommend bitterballen with mustard! (and fries with our mayo is great :p )
Don't forget the frikadel.
Can absolutely second Bitterballen. I feel like I ate about 20 over the last weekend!
Ok! Thanks for your recommendations🇳🇱
Up North we do like mustered or mayonnaise with our sausage bread.
Your such a handsome japanese guy. Happy to see u liked the food. But nothing beats the japenes food and korean. Im in love with your culture and land ❤
You can get Bossche bollen everywhere in the Netherlands, but in Den Bosch they taste the best
snow, next day sun, weather do be like that
Aaaah you are here! Will you do a meet up in amsterdam? You’re the funniest youtuber🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you! DM me on instagram!
@@GeorgeJapan I did!😄😄
I think I was in Amsterdam as you were in den Bosch. Might have tried Stroopwaffles at approximately the same time as you 😆
👍🇳🇱
Come to utrecht.. we have the domtoren..its choclate with a soft filling.. the man that makes them is theo blom.. visit him en take a domtoren!! ❤
Bosche bol can be found in many places but their not quite the same as the ones made and sold in den bosch
And im here putting curry sauce on my sausage bread. Im with you man needs some sauce.
1:54 yes you can find them outside den bosch but under a different name. theyre called moorkoppen elsewhere. only in den bosch its bossche bol. 3:35 and de worstenbroodje i always eat with chilli sauce, cuz indeed its dry 5:47 i live in den bosch and the word houdoe sounds so lovely to my ears XD it simply means bye, but it sounds so friendly and warm or something i dunno XD 9:00 they also call it snert 😂 all these places are so familiar to me, its so weird to see it on youtube XD
bosche bol is gewoon overal te koop, the end
AMAI HEBBE GIJ IN DEN BOSCH OOK GOODSE KAAS AMAI HOE KEN DA DANNNN HEUL IN UT ZUIDEN? doe normaal
Den Bosch I grew up there, my family still lives there, I haven't been there for a long time, but everything is recognizable.
After all this traveling I wonder which food you'll crave the most once you're back in Japan.
I’m curious too! I’ll probably make a video about that :)
great video, but actually you eat the Erwtensoep (grean pea soup) with "Roggebrood with Katenspek" or as 2nd "flensjes" smal thin pancakes.
You can buy the chicolate Ball everywhere around Holland
have you tried hachee? it's very good!
George looks like he really appreciates this experience.
Yes I appreciate all my experiences I’ve had doing this world tour
Great to see you did not visit the Febo for typical Dutch food, like most do.
Loool the Sausage bread is actually really tasty with ketchup!!! I'm also dutch and I don't eat those often, but when I do I add ketchup. I used to think stroopwafels where overrated and not that tasty at all, but now that im older I am starting to like them more and more. I recommend them to everyone who hasn't eaten one yet! Especially the fresh ones! Not the supermarket ones. Also pro tip! When you do have a supermarket one and you have a hot beverage like tea or coffee, put the cookie on your cup and heat them up. and I hate erwtensoep XD Pea soup is not tasty at all. I never really liked food with beans or stuff like that. I do like the sausage pieces you can find in the erwtensoep. But that's about it. Thank you for the fun video! I always enjoy seeing people from other countries trying typical dutch things. It's always interesting to see what other people think or feel about stuff that is 'normal' for me but something new for someone else.
You can find Bossche bol pretty much everywhere in the Netherlands, not just in Den Bosch. The origin of the Bossche bol does lie somewhere around there though, like the name implies.
Will you visit Nikkou in Delft? Best Ramen in the country.
Will you come to Sweden too? We'd love to have you here!
Not this time, but I’ll probably go to Sweden after 2024!🇸🇪
@@GeorgeJapan I hope you get a chance to go to Sweden some time 😊 it's a lovely place! Enjoy your travels!
Bosche bollen we can get it everywhere now. The supermarkets are full of it. But the real one in den Bosch is a lot different in taste and much better
As a Belgian from Ypres ive seen the chocolate covered cream puff since i remember stuff... Smaller than the one you ate tho...
As a dutch person born and raised in den bosch i can say its totally fine to eat the sausage rolls with ketchup XD Also theres a lot of very interesting historic things about the city so if ur interested in that u should definitely check that out sometime!
ohhh syrup waffles my favorite dutch snacks im somewhat femiliar with them is i have been to the netherlands before the only thing is it litterly has the same kind of weather as the uk does rain can start at any moment i have been to amsterdam, volendam, maastricht i believe its called and a couple of other small places here and there
Yeah the weather is pretty much the same as the UK☔️
Ikr
Nooo you where here? 😢Why did I miss this.... 🇳🇱❤😮
You really taste the beans.... 🤔🤣 It's pea soup though, lolol
i eat the sausagebread with ketchup or chilisauce yum!
And your saga continues wonderfully in Amsterdam, a place with a great atmosphere 💯 I recommend you to try "Oliebollen".. This is the sweet (slightly sweet) street food that I liked the most in Holland. It's freshly fried and delicious!
Ok! Thanks for your recommendation!🇳🇱
Oliebollen you only find around New Years I'm afraid! Sometimes a few months before and after, but not this late in the year
@@littlemissmello You can also find it in the squares during the year if you are lucky. I already bought them in the summer
@@Brasileiro222 where in the hell did you get them in the summer? And are you sure that they were oliebollen??
@@littlemissmello It wasn't in the hell, it was in Alkmaar 🤓. If I'm sure that it was oliebollen ? Of course, I don't assert things without being sure.
Its called boschse bol.in amsterdam we also have this is called moorkop
Stroopwafels and Bosche Bollen are really tasty. What also really dutch are 'stampot' and 'boerenkool met rookworst' (from hema). I wouldnt give him actually fristi, but more typical dutch is chocomel 😊. I love my country so much and that is not just the food❤
My husband always puts ketchup/mayo/curry on his sausage bread (worstenbroodjes) 🤣🙌🏻 and he is very Dutch!
you can find Bosche bollen everywhere.
George Came to Portugal pls the gastronomic food in this country is very good in my opinion 🇵🇹🙏🏻 I like very much your videos
After 2024!
As a teenage Dutch kid , I really appreciate the honesty in rather you like it or not cause there are actually some foreigners around they act like they like it just to not make us feel disappointed. Personally I'm a very picky eater like I rather eat any food but Dutch 😅 for me I really like Turkish/ Moroccan bread , Italian and asian foods (I can't handle spice tho)
As a dutch i think you should go to dutch supermarkten like jumbo, alberteijn kruidvat and more
Being Dutch, you putting ketchup on that sausage bread/roll, i honestly get it! Wish they would put more herbs and spices in the sausage!!!
From a dutch person: your pronounciations are really good!
Long time no talk to. I have been very busy working on my own you tube channel. Amongst other things. Been to the Netherlands before, glad you made it though. Yes you remind me of my Japanese boyfriend that continues to say itadakimas in other settings.
Itadakimasu!!
6:45 Music waffle 🤭
Stroopwafels are soooooo good.
3:18 don’t worry, there are more than enough people who do eat it with sauce it’s just not custom
You can definitely get those bollen in other places too though😂
I’ve never been there even though I’m Dutch. I guess it’s time to visit Den Bosch some time soon
'S hertgenbosch is a beautiful place..
As a Dutch person who lives abroad now, I dread to hear your opinion on my traditional food hahaha, still am a fan though!
The food I tried there was all amazing!🇳🇱
Yeah i tried sausags bread with ketchup and it was tasty! 😉😋
No more Belgium video?? 🥺 No video about Brussels or Ghent?? 😭 Okay 😔... I hope you had a great time in Belgium. I had never go to the Netherlands yet but I am so curious to eat the "cream y chocolate ball pie" 🤤🤤🤤 and also the Dutch cookie 🤤🤤🤤. The park look beautiful, I wish you a nice travel for the rest of your journey. Thanks Hanneke and George for the video, greetings from Belgium.
Sorry I shot videos there, but I felt a little sick. So the footage was not good.. but thanks to my subscribers, I had a very good time in Belgium 😊🇧🇪
@@GeorgeJapan So sad... Glad you had great time in Belgium. Stay safe with the rest of your journey George.
I can say that the "chocolate ball" is available in the whole province of Noord-Brabant, as far as my knowledge goes of that The fristi is very popular among kids, but that really is only because of its sweetness. Most adults drink coffee or tea because that tastes better with the stroopwafel Personally, my favorite soup is also erwtensoup
you are welcome to Poland
