  • we were considering the Rangeline, or another Promaster conversion, but since we live in Canada and plan on travelling in the winter, we scrapped the idea and going to go with either a Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit AWD. I think that the Rangeline has a great layout, and for most people it would be an ideal setup if you live and travel in non-snowy areas, or if you are not venturing too far off the paved roads. But then again, after hearing about all of the maintenance issues, I would take a good look at the Panoramic Van out of Quebec. They build a super hjgh quality van with little to no issues. Watching your videos has been very informative and has helped me decide on the type of van to choose.

    • Glad our videos have been helpful! There was not much info on the rangeline when we decided to go with it so we are finding out the hard way. The insulation isn’t up to our standards and definitely some other deficiencies. We actually camped in -15C last night and had to turn the heat down, so the timberline does put out!

    • Happy to see you out there again. We have a 24 Rangeline and had all the service updates done and it’s all good. I’m sorry you had so many issues during Airstream’s unfortunate learning curve with their own product. You can quiet that pump, btw, research the forum and you’ll see how. I did it myself. Can you give us the deets on the tire other than Falken AT4? What exact size and such? Very excited to see you driving around in snow and ice when I didn’t think that would be possible with 2 wheel drive. Love your adventure videos. Hi to the pups and safe travels.

    • @@chrisclifton6658 we’ve got some parts to fix the fuel pump clicking but we weren’t expecting a 7 month shop stay for the van and now there is a bunch of snow on the ground so we don’t want to crawl under it😅 It’s on the list of things to do! The tires are 225/75R16C 121/120R. The pups say hi to you!!

    • Thank you. One more question…Wondering if these Falkens are noticeably louder or really loud on the highway. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.

      @chrisclifton1207@chrisclifton12072 ай бұрын
    • @@chrisclifton1207a little louder but not bad compared to most other 4x4 tires. There is quite a bit of wind noise in the rangelines so it’s not noticeable over that.

  • Is that a diesel heater you have in there ? Is the ticking noise coming from the dosing pump ? Cool van 👍🏻🇬🇧

    @AJ-qn6gd@AJ-qn6gd2 ай бұрын
    • It’s similar to the diesel but uses gasoline. It’s called a timberline, so it actually heats up a glycol system that runs through the water heater and heat vents.

    • @@darcyandtess The reason I ask is loads of people here fit the Chinese diesel heaters to vans and the pumps are usually noisy (tick) we have an Eberspacher heater in our VW T5 and their pump is described as near silent and I can honestly say ive never heard it, might be worth trying to source a silent dosing pump, I know Eberspacher also make petrol/gasoline heaters might be worth a look that noise would drive me crackers lol. 👍🏻🇬🇧

  • Just found your channel and subscribed, A thermal curtain behind the cab seats and the main part of the van will help keep the heat in the living space. 👍

    • Thanks for the Sub! That would be nice for a couple things. Also wanted too do something like that to do some stealth camping and leave the seats forward, in certain situations it could help look less like someone is in there.
