Beautiful sound & performance. The film, a brilliant compliment. Just got "KingMaker" on vinyl. Looking forward to listening and learning this group. Seen Jeremy Dutton several times with Vijay Iyer Sextet. We're in a really encouraging phase of jazz & creative music. Joel Ross & Co seem to be part of that trend.

I love the rythm figure of this tune that starts 3 and 4 mixture then 2vs3 change.

Enduring work. seduction of Ross' music can have a physical and visceral effect. The music takes over and transports one to another world where troubles melt and thoughts are clear. Thanks!

4:24 Notice the glance at us. First of all, thank you. I would not consider myself someone who can listen to instumental music for a long time, but here I am. Magic! This is the first time I feel truly transported into the jazz. But I have to say that without the film it would not work for me. The combination is what gave me feels. Anyway, keep on!

KZhead is doing its usual thing . . . delaying the visuals from the audio, so when Joel "plays the vibes" he's a microsecond off. I guess that would have to be fixed in the editing, to maybe have the video be a beat ahead of the audio. Or maybe it's just my computer (but I doubt it). The effect of "air vibes" would be exceptional if it hit spot on the beat . . . but hey, the music kicks ass, so who cares! No shades of Gary Burton. Or should I say "No SHADE of Gary Burton."
