  • Amazing info. One thing I always do is play with the lure in front of me and practice how I will fish It. Some of the baits I make are sinking blend and some are floating blend which impart different movement and what not. Very importantto play with the bait and understand the ways of how to fish it before you start bombing it out there. Sometimes it takes that to understand it better because you can have the wrong reel ratio that your using and now you have to compensate because your not running a high speed ratio. Hope that helps. Anyways this man is a legend I go here for tips and tricks and I'm always satisfied.

  • I could be wrong, but with the camera view, it looks like many people focus on the wrong part of the rod. The end ur holding is only moving a small amount so u think ur just twitching the lure. Look at the tip of the rod to better approximate how far ur lure is moving.

  • This is why I've tested a few rigs in a swimming pool where the bait is visible. An old Shakespeare/Zebco push button with a super low gear ratio allows for more mistakes in wind speed than an open bail or baitcaster. I still often like to jig with a short pole pushbutton in little nooks as I have the accuracy of a baitcaster without any of the other issues involved.

  • A great demonstration with the camera, it helps clarify the action differences for those who have not fished clear water or paid attention to what is actually happening below the surface with the lure. I am not sure the title applies though, except for those starting out. Each of those retrieves can have application beyond the level bottom demonstration. Knowing bottom structure and vegetation determines which of those retrieve patterns will work and when. I have used them all at one point or another with success.

  • This video is so so important for not only new anglers, but anglers who don’t spend everyday on the water. I’m sharing this to a lot of people. I will add, do you think it would be possible to do a third angle with a “hat cam” showing what the line looks like coming off your rod into the water? I tend to watch my line quite a bit to get an understanding of what’s going on vs watching my hands. Would be good with a hi vis yellow line or something
