  • Im with you, the milling is my favorite. I guess it goes back to the fact i cut trees and mill the logs myself so i get to enjoy the whole process. I also never use plans, just draw something up with some measurements and work it through in my head.

    • That’s a dream of mine, to mill a tree from my property and eventually make something out of it. And same - I wing it most of the time with design.

  • I know the right answer is Empire Strikes Back, and it’s been my favorite since I saw it 7 times in the theater. Gun to my head, Rogue One is my favorite, followed by Empire.

  • A New Hope... it's the original and when i first saw the movie there really wasn't much like it that came before. Having said that, it still hold up today as the best of the series.

  • Are you really trying to start a comments war, with asking what star wars movie is someone’s favorite. You are brave lol Empire Strikes back. Great build btw, you earned my subscription😅. Nice narration, video shots. Pretty good video keep up the good work. Hope I don’t insult you here, but one tip if you didn’t know (I have a feeling you do) use candle wax on the bottom of the hand plane. That will make your hand planning a bit easier, trust me ever since I learned that tip I never hand plane without waxing first.

    • Haha, yes, let the hate flow through the comments ! Cool tip on the candle wax - I use renaissance wax on it currently, but candle wax is definitely a much more affordable option! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • As a kid the only thing I cared about in Star Wars was the lightsaber duels and the action. As a continued to mature I realized this entire galaxy has been thought up with its own set of implications that change the world around them that makes things not as black and white. Star Wars isn’t just good guys verses bad guys. It’s lust and struggle for power, and people with decent intentions being forced to align themselves with a side because their natural enemies have done so. Jedi don’t really have a care for politics, but to become the most power being in the universe, their enemy the sith is now using politics and government as pawns in their quest. Peace keepers become generals in time of war, and because they’ve sacrificed maybe more than they should’ve in the quest to do right, they’ve lost everything. In likes time the Jedi have been reduced to nothing but a long lost crazy man’s religion. The ones who are old enough to remember the Jedi understand that they intended to do good and sometimes at the expense of others so when they start to make a comeback, can they be trusted? All things I only recently became hip to after I graduated high school. I was interested in the lord of star wars for sure but the prequels were deemed boring to me as a child and I went along with that belief up until late last year when I finally watched episode 4 in its entirety. I don’t know how old your son is, but episode 3 being a kids favorite makes total sense because it was mine. I think as a movie it’s rushed, and certain aspects of the story are more implied than fleshed out, which is still a testament to George Lucas’ because look at all the Star Wars content that has been made in literature, episodic animated and live action television, and cinema based off what Lucas told us explicitly and what he left our own imaginations to come up with. That all being said I don’t know if I have a favorite anymore, but I can respect that you and your son are in two different spaces within the same universe. This video is about a bed and I just went off on a tangent about Star Wars. Lol I’m a guitarist here from your explorer build and enjoy seeing people educate and walk others through processes of things they are genuinely passionate about. Just because I play guitar has given me an appreciation for wood working, but I don’t think I could hack it at this level, but your work is incredible nonetheless. Earned a subscriber here lol.
