One memory I will never forget about old mc is that I cried over a creeper blowing up my lapis block 😭 I was very scared of mining because of mobs, so I could never get diamonds. I put a lapis block in my house, pretending it was a diamond block and put two stairs near it to serve as a table. I somehow allowed a creeper to get in my house, the house was in ruins and my special lapis block was gone 😅😭

Because nowadays, they use just the bottom of the hitbox to detect the ladder instead of either the top or bottom. You can sorta replicate this by using trapdoors instead of the empty space, although this is Java exclusive, and trapdoors are more expensive than ladders.

This video brought me a certain happiness and nostalgia, especially at the end with the theme song. Reminds me of the first time I played Minecraft on my computer in the 2010s and later on Xbox 360.
@seiko84719 ай бұрын
As much as I love Minecraft now, this was the best game ever. You really had to get creative with the 5 world slots and very, VERY few blocks, and yet it went famous because of how fun it was. Pros and cons, but I prefer alpha and beta over modern day craft. My earliest memories of mc are me climbing up my bunk bed with MCPE on my iPad and dying to a spider while cozied up in a lil' blankie. And, it's kinda weird that Minecraft now, while having things like terracotta and more types of stone, just doesn't feel as good or realistic as original mc. Minecraft has always taught me to follow my own objectives in life. There is no ender dragon of your life, but you can set your sights as high as they need to be. Meet new people with cool skins, make houses together, get rich. Anything and everything I just said can be done with less than 100 blocks and some free time. Again, Minecraft nowadays is still crazy fun, but It's somehow less realistic than old Minecraft, and holds much less nostalgia then me getting dogged on by a Yoda skin on Xbox 360.

There ARE actually sounds, as well as skins, in all of these versions! All you need is to use the betacraft proxy java argument when launching the game, or use the betacraft launcher. It fixes A LOT of problems that have arisen in the 13 years since these versions released. If you ever were interested in a part two, I'd be happy to talk and help make producing the series easier (and look better ;P).
Do you remember you could place ladder every 2 blocks instead of 1 by 1 ?
Pepridge farms remembers
Because nowadays, they use just the bottom of the hitbox to detect the ladder instead of either the top or bottom. You can sorta replicate this by using trapdoors instead of the empty space, although this is Java exclusive, and trapdoors are more expensive than ladders.

Haven't watched those types of videos for a long time. This one's fantastic.
Dude, it’s crazy looking at the old Minecraft, it’s like the memories are slowly fading away from my mind 😭
That sad
Yeah, but don’t worry, we can play old versions on the java launcher!
For every person who places their last block, there is a young one out there placing their first. 對於每個放置最後一個方块的人來說,都有一個年輕人放置他們的第一個方块。

*this was golden versions back then. early 2010s revolutionary era of gaming. 1 man. 1 game. 1 community.*
14:14 'i ran out of stone so i went and killed some pigs' killed me
You ain't a pig.
This video brought me a certain happiness and nostalgia, especially at the end with the theme song. Reminds me of the first time I played Minecraft on my computer in the 2010s and later on Xbox 360.
I still play Xbox one version
@@thunderkatz4219 the "old" one, or Minecraft on the Xbox?
I used to play Xbox 360 but now sometimes I like to play Xbox One with my brother and sometimes I just like to play Minecraft on the Nintendo switch alone sometimes me with my sister and brother

Actually the loom block is used to put patterns on banners. It also can turn villagers into the shepherd type villager.

funny thing is that banners kinda capture what everyone praises in early minecraft, because you're very limited with your patterns, so it feels really satisfying to pull off a cool pattern.
I miss what the old ore looked like
Me too😢
I miss the old mossy cobblestone 😭
we're so used to do things in a hurry that when we play older versions, we discover that having a hurry to do things it's not as important as having fun. I hope that playing older versions and bringing that feeling that we had to the new generation of people who loves Minecraft becomes a trend.
I always get nostalgic seeing people play alpha minecraft even tho I always played bedrock on a mobile device
@AdventuresWith James it's cuz of the texture I am sure
Me too
I played the old pocket edition. While it wasn’t the same as Alpha minecraft it had similarities to Alpha. It also had its own unique features that dealt with device storage limitations.
@@darth3911 pretty sure when pocket edition came out (wasn't called bedrock until much later like 2016 I think?) It was whatever version right before beds came out lol good ol wool and stone "beds" were so common
Sameee. I was so surprised with the nether core device thing (i don't even remember what they were called) I thought that was a fake thing like the aether, very much surprised when it actually worked
Wasn’t every one obsessed with the modern house idea back then?
Not posting on the internet for 1 year is like not posting for 1 decade
My brother and I use to convince people we made the TU11 tutorial world. In retrospect, they probably believed us because we had an older version than anyone else because we didn’t have Xbox Live so we couldn’t update the game passed the version on the disc and everyone else had newer tutorial worlds.
8:22 The sheep is named Sheep, which is of course an epic reference to Sheep in the Big City, where the titular sheep is named Sheep
Sheep.
That video makes me feel so comfortable and nostalgic, even though I play Minecraft very rarely and never played this old versions
Instant sub!!! Loved watching this vid, brought back so many memories of old Minecraft.
This is actually an idea I’ve done for fun before. Starting with older versions and working up to get everything the old school way is fun. I like it for the nostalgia but I can see how a new player wouldn’t want to play this way
You get fun generation anomalies on the map this way
There ARE actually sounds, as well as skins, in all of these versions! Thanks for the video! all this coming from an old school minecraft nerd with too much free time :D

This was such a great video. Deadass I enjoyed this so much like it was really fun seeing you collect all the blocks and then building stuff in such a nostalgic way. I'm currently building a survival world in the beta 1.7.3 minecraft version and I wish I could be as good as you lmao
Ahh yes, back when snow block is the best material for modern theme base
1:08 when people from 10 years ago have good edit program and editting skill
Seeing the simplicity of builds in Alpha really drives home how much easier it was to build stuff back in the day without having an anxiety attack trying to choose from 400 different materials to construct your base out of. Loved the editing of this video! Can't wait to finish it later while I'm building in my own world. Good stuff man!
This is one of the only videos of old minecraft I watched the past few years. This hit me in a different way. Minecraft is just a different game than other games.
