After almost 5 years we finally got together with some of the most talented GTA Speedrunners and we crushed our previous Criminal Mastermind Record, from 2016, by almost half an hour!
In this Speedrun we successfully complete the Criminal Mastermind challenge in GTA Online as fast as possible.
The conditions of this challenge are:
Complete all heist setups and finales, in order, with the same team, without dying once.
We managed to get a time of 3:17:00 for completing all the Heists (including the loading times in between), making this the official world record, as of 14.01.2021.

The scarf is a neat trick. If someone doesn't know, using heavy armour vests on heist missions makes you almost bulletproof, but prevents you from running. Putting a scarf on during the mission, lets you remove the running limitation, without loosing the armour bonus.

I've known this trick since 2015 and I've been secretly using it without telling absolutely anyone but Elite Challenge community. Actually, the trick was originally to use an Independence day mask, but then I noticed scarves could do that too. It wasn't until late 2015 I figured out that you also don't lose any armor bonus that way as well. I remember playing finale of Pacific Standard all day every day using that trick and people were all shocked how fast I was to get to the Lectro's and destroy them, while getting 0 kills. Everyone would play with me because of that and think I'm an amazing player, when the reality was I was just using that bug. What a good memory.

@@Jacob_Rady It's an accessory, so you can put it on from the interaction menu during the mission, just like you can put on a mask, or sunglasses, without having to use a wardrobe. But since it can't be worn together with the heavy vest, when you put it on, the heavy vest automatically switches to some other piece of clothing. However, since the game doesn't recheck for whether you're actually wearing the heavy vest during the mission, you get to keep the bulletproof bonus, while getting rid of the spring limitation.

Seeing the meta for these missions evolve over the years, was definitely one of my favourites parts of playing gtao.
I remember the days of the entity and adder as well as the tank being the best (and somehow we still cant customize police cars but they sell a fire truck for 2m+)

Such a nice speedrun i always use the speedrun strats as much as i can when playing the heists, unfortunately most of the time with randoms or low level friends that just begun playing :D

33:25 The strat used for the station team, that let the cop walk in and out the station was impressive… ive been doing the og heists with randoms on repeat since 2016, Ive parked my kuruma right infront of the station doors and shot the cops and safely collect the documents and then loose the cops in a tunnel. Also the strat where the vigilante jumps and parachute’s is risky I may try it But i think id prefer to climb the crane and jump down Lol

My friend group did a counter-speedrun of this; one was new, the other wasn't very good at games, and our heist leader took a break from GTA for nearly a month. So in total, it took us like, a month and six days.

Last time me and my buddies tried this, I realized we had to restart after like 2 hours before we started The Humane Labs, because apparently two 2-player parties had to do the fleeca job, instead of just one.
I wanna ask you some quick question,does leaving when you fail ruin the whole challenge?
You are allowed to fail as often as you want. For example if a time limit runs out, you get cops on you, you get spotted or the mission vehicle gets destroyed etc... As long as nobody dies during that, you're good. But even if somebody dies, if you quickly close the game before it can register the death, you can most of the time continue. But you need to be VERY quick for this, ideally before the ingame popup even appears. So it's crucial to be in a voice call with your team mates and warn them in advance if you're even slightly about to die. Better safe than sorry. It's faster to redo one setup twice than the whole challenge from the beginning.

I have a question. In the fleeca Job, the Job is only for 2 People, but in the later missions, it’s for 4. so do every 4 get the Money Or only the 2 that did the fleeca Job in the beginning
You split up into 2 groups. Person A & B do Fleeca, Person C & D do Fleeca, then all 4 regroup and do Prison Break together. Everybody gets the money at the end that way

So when I tried to use the helicopter for Pac standard Signal Setup the mission didn't progress until I flew back to the seasharks. Was I supposed to wait for the team to get to the island?

glad I'm not the only one that realized getting behind the jets during the prison break was a good idea lol I'm wondering if it's the fact that they're playing on the pc that caused the bad driving or the fact that they can't drive if they hadn't fucked around so much they might have gotten a sub or just over 3 hour run

yea, you can do it whenever you want. Even after doing the heists normally for the 100th time

Yes! You could even do one setup a day. As long as you don't play any heists with other people in between, you can take as long as you want

yea I got my 10 mil. Just start over from Fleeca and you'll be good to go. It resets everytime you start Fleeca again
