RECIPE
Based on this video by Geniuseatss vm.tiktok.com/ZMFk7fN2A/
Instagram: instagram.com/geniuseatss?igs...
KZhead: / @geniuseatss
2 Tablespoons peanut butter (lets be real I used 3)
1 Teaspoon soy sauce
½ Tablespoon rice vinegar
½ teaspoon sesame oil (let's be real I used a full teaspoon like a badass)
½ teaspoon sugar (I made it once without the sugar and it was still good)
1 teaspoon of chili oil (let's be real that's exactly how much I used)
2 cloves or garlic chopped finely
Wangjangle all of those things together
Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of hot water which you can add now or later. I added it just after the noodles finished cooking so that the sauce would be hotter going in
Boil 200 grams/7 ounces noodles. I used a bit less because I like my noodles drowning in sauce. That's also the reason I used more of all the other ingredients.
Then combinate those things and then also eat them.

  • Instantly reminds me of 擔擔麵 (daam daam meen) It's basically a mildly spicy noodle dish that heavily features peanuts in the flavour profile Damn I could go to the streets and have a bowl right now

  • Hey, that was funny. I just recently bought a jar of that chili oil crisp. I thought I'd be spitting fire but omg it really was hot sauce candy !! Your dish looked delicious 😋👌

    • this is fascinating, how would you say the texture of the cabbage turns out in the finished product? Just like, regular cabbage, or pickled cabbage, or like some sort of fancy cabbage from an international grocery, or what?

      @MorteTheSkull@MorteTheSkull Жыл бұрын
    • @@MorteTheSkull Depends on how thin you slice, how long you cook it for and what kind of fat you use. I find using butter and cooking until it actually gets some browning turns out fairly noodle-like but with that slight cabbage crunch still (not mushy). Olive oil works fine but it doesn't quite get the same brown and the texture is a little softer. If my roommate wasn't allergic to coconut I'd try coconut oil to see how that pairs with the peanut sauce. I usually slice the cabbage thinner so there's a good sauce distribution but my husband likes it thicker so it keeps more cabbage crunch.

    • There’s a similar dish called Qian Long cabbage which is basically blanched Napa cabbage in a peanut butter, sesame paste, sugar and vinegar dressing and it’s really good as well

  • Can confirm re: the chili crisp. If you go for the crisp with the "three ting" or "vegetarian" one with the peanuts, fermented kohlrabi, and tofu in it, it's even better.
