Hear me out with the switch…. Cut a hole in the back of the bookshelf right where the switch is and then place a front facing fake book in front of it so you can open the cover and turn on the switch, it would be so super cook and you could build a little fairy house inside of the fake book too 🥹

Maybe do a few floating shelves above the light switch! Some light wooden ones would look so nice and bring in some warmth 🫶🏼
You can get extensions for the tops of the Billy bookcases, I love them, I have really high ceilings so I have two extensions. Makes it look seamless

Hey Rachel! Absolutely love your content its so relaxing!!! your library room is actual goals! Just wanted to mention, a ZZ plant is extremely easy to look after! they like being neglected just if you are looking for an easy-to-look-after plant. Peace lilies are also super easy to care for because they droop when they are thirsty. x
try getting book stands for the books you want to display the front of! it helps keep them closed if they’re paperbacks

Just a heads up that you can also add in the extensions on top of the Billy's for extra space when/if you run out of space. They also have the option to add in a single shelf too!

There could be a narrow 3-shelf under the light switch and where the TBR cart resides. Or one of those book column shelf that you stack the books and it looks invisible; the light switch can still be accessible if you stack the books appropriately. I also agree with the extensions; you can add them later in the future. But the crochet bee is cute! Enjoyed the video and wishing you the best in your new home 🙏💛.
The finished product looks so good!!! I loe seeing Liam's books there too. I am keen to see how you continue to rearrange and grow your book collection over time :) I am totally the same with finishing organising my bookshelf then 1 hour later I'm rearranging again :P it just gives such good vibes!

Impressed you got all your books on those shelves......I have 9 bookshelves, and they are double stacked; and that doesn't even have all my books on them. I still have some in boxes in a cupboard and also some floor stacks........and that's only because I can't part with books. Even if I didn't like them or will never read them again, there is a memory attached to them that I can't bare to part with them.
houseplant girlie here lol! the peperomia looks like a peperomia rana verde! the third houseplant you showed is either a pothos 'n'joy' or pothos 'pearls and jade' (they look very similar and I can't quite tell from the footage)
There was some gems at those opshops but not for the bookshelf. I need to go to some not in my area cause mine are chaos but not the rummage chaos 😂😂
