  • People born in the 60s and 70s are the most luckiest to have grown up listening to the most amazing rock music ever.... Deep purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Lynyard Skynyrd, Kiss... just to name a few.... I'm truly blessed.. each time I listen I am taken back to my school days... best days ever...

  • Oh god I love hearing Lord's infectious keyboard. You never realize how crucial keyboard is in metal or rock music until you listen to a song without it. Obviously a song that normally has keyboard. Deep Purple wouldn't sound the same without Lord's playing. We need more metal keyboard players.

  • I saw Deep purple at the De Montfort hall , Leicester around 1973, an event that will always stay with me. Apart from music, I have a passion for Rugby Union. When I go down to Welford road to see my team, Leicester Tigers, I always get a double chill, as they play “smoke on the water” as the boys run out onto the pitch.

This whole band is so Hot!! on this song, that I'm surprised that the building they were talking about did not burn down because of them playing this song, They were Cooking!!! Especially the Lead Singer and Keyboardist!! One of the all time great riffs by Ritchie Blackmore!! A Beavus and Butthead favorite.
