    • heres johnny I completely disagree. I still kinda like this, but I can think of MANY ways in which they would sound a lot better. I am very disappointed by their de-evolution in the last few albums, going back to the roots. Everyone goes back to the roots, it's so predictable and boring.

      @FixxxerZ7@FixxxerZ79 жыл бұрын
    • FixxxerZ7 I don't see it as a full-blown return to the roots. It's a return to Lost Paradise/Gothic form, sure, but there's certainly shades of Host in this song as well in the verses. I actually hear more Host in this than I do most of Tragic Idol. It's less a regression and more a collective exercise of everything the band has been up to this point, almost like the last 25 years have led up to this song. Their journey has been parabolic, going from metal to synthrock and then back again, but PL has never really stopped moving forward with their music; it's just that the last handful of albums have basically been a slow return to metal form while retaining some of what they learned from their late 90's/early 2000's material.

      @ireallydontcareabouthandles@ireallydontcareabouthandles9 жыл бұрын
    • LC1991 While this new song definitely includes the experience of the last 25 years, it is pretty much at exactly the style of music they were playing back in 1990-1991. I am sorry, but I don't hear anything remotely close to Host. I can hear One Second and Host reminiscent melodies and formalisms in their previous 4-5 albums, but not here. Maybe the album will have some other songs closer to their late 90s stuff, who knows? It would be great if Paradise Lost always moved forward (like they were doing until 2005) but since 2007 every album is taking them a step back. Don't get me wrong, I still like ALL their albums, they're one of my favourite bands... just not all of them the same :)

    • I love their albums "Paradise Lost", "Draconian Times", "The Plague Within" and "Obsidian". Right now I am most interested in re-visiting their album "Host", for the simple facts that a) its reception is quite polarising and b) for some reason or other it is quite often the very works that self-described "fans" of a band tend to dislike which I find most interesting. So, maybe it will grow on me once I give it another listen, even though it seemed average to me at first.

  • Awesome tune! Nick Holmes sounds great as always and Bloodbath really got him interested in growls again, which is sweet. :) Dig those riffs too. \m/

  • No hope in sight Daylight before them dies Enshrined the horrified No hope in sight Have I prayed As a slave of lasting cry's To obey To sedate as humour dies Cold embrace Is the saviour in disguise Through old age Only danger never dies Never dies It's a battle As the years start to fade It's a battle As the years start to fade No hope in sight A light before us dies Alligned the horrified No hope in sight You'll face your fears Through faded years It's a battle As the years start to fade It's a battle As the years start to fade No hope in sight Daylight before them dies Enshrined the horrified No hope in sight

  • Can I just say to Paradise Lost, or anyone who represents them and tells them what "the internet" is saying...This is INCREDIBLE!!!! I've been listening to you for 21 years now ("found" you aged 12 in the Icon era), and this is the stuff that is...perfect. If the next album is anything like the return to form "Faith Unites..." was, your royal throne as Kings of British Metal will, IMHO, be restored. More more more!
