  • Shurik is very kind and smart. He tries to help everyone out of trouble, but because of his nobility he gets into trouble. He always gets where he didn't get. When everyone goes around a hole or dirt (it's in the most visible place), then he will definitely get into it!... The fact that Shurik is an inventive and quick-witted guy adds to the comicality of situations, but his inventions always complicate the absurdity of the situations in which he finds himself. His "life hacks" that he comes up with are useless, but they make the development of events even "bigger and more interesting". He always gets involved in adventures that he didn't plan in advance. In an effort to rectify the situation, on the contrary, he only complicates it even more. He's like Harold Lloyd - he never gives up!

  • A foreman in a helmet. Mikhail Pugovkin enlisted as a volunteer at the front. He served as a scout in a rifle regiment, and in 1942 was seriously wounded near Lugansk. Doctors wanted to amputate his injured leg, but he managed to save it. Pugovkin dissuaded the doctors: "I can't be without a leg, because I'm an actor!" After long treatment, the actor passed the discharge, and he returned to Moscow. Both of his older brothers were killed at the front... Militiaman. Vladimir Basov. In the rank of senior lieutenant he was a battery commander. On February 23, 1945, he headed the assault group, secured capture of the German defensive strongpoint, was heavily contused in the battle, for his feat he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Bully. Alexei Smirnov. He volunteered for the front. Served in army reconnaissance, repeatedly went behind enemy lines. He reached the rank of a commander of firing platoon of 169 Ordnance Mortar Regiment, petty officer (according to some data - junior lieutenant). For courage and heroism shown at the front, he became a Knight of two Orders of Glory. During one of the battles he was badly contused by the explosion of shell and after treatment in the hospital he was discharged. He did not like to recall the war and never trumped about his war merits. Only his closest people knew about his heroic military past. Two Orders of Glory - 2nd and 3rd degree, Order of the Red Star, medals "For Valor" and "For War Merits". All in all Alexey Makarovich Smirnov had 11 military awards. "On April 9, 1944 near the village of Pilyava after heavy artillery attacks two battalions of the enemy supported by 13 tanks attacked. Comrade Smirnov with his platoon opened heavy mortar fire on German infantry. In this fight with fire of the platoon the killed 4 automatic rifles and 2 hand machine guns, 110 fascist soldiers and officers. The counterattack of Germans was repulsed". On July 20, 1944 near Hill 293 the enemy with force up to 40 Hitlerites attacked the battery. Comrade Smirnov, inspiring the soldiers, rushed into fight and repulsed the attack of Germans. He personally captured 7 Hitlerites. On July 27th near the village of Zhuravka he captured 5 Hitlerites while leaving an encirclement. Comrade Smirnov A.M. was worthy of governmental award - the Order of Glory of the 3rd class. The commander of 169 mortar regiment Saltsin". He received the second order of Glory for the fight near Postashevice village. Once again there was a German attack, hand-to-hand combat, and stingy lines in the award sheet: "Comrade Smirnov with three men rushed on the Germans and personally killed three Hitlerites with a machine gun and took two prisoners. On January 22, 1945, despite an intensive rifle-gun and artillery-mortar fire, with the calculation he ferried the mortar on himself to the left bank of the river Oder. From there it destroyed two machine-gun points in the village of Eicherried and up to 20 Hitlerites. The 36th artillery regiment seized the village and the bridgehead on the left bank of the river Oder. "My dear friends! If you managed to smile just once, I will be happy. As you will live one second longer. I wish you many good and kind things." A. M. Smirnov

  • Aleksei Makarovich Smirnov as Fedya the Boor In 1941 he left for the front as a volunteer. He was a chemical instructor, then squad leader in the 3rd Artillery Battery, 169th Red Banner mortar regiment, 3rd Red Banner and Order of Lenin artillery division of Zhitomir. Alexey Smirnov took part in the battles at the Western, Bryansk, 1st Ukrainian and 2nd Byelorussian Fronts, many times was sent for scouting behind the enemy lines. One of his award papers says he killed three fascists with his assault rifle. In the front line he once acted instead of his commander (which was down) and dispersed about two enemy squads by intensive mortar fire. When breaking through the enemy positions near the village of Onatskovsi on 4 March 1944 Smirnov and his squad eliminated a mortar battery, a turret machine-gun and about 30 enemy soldiers, which let them regain the village and further take possession of the town of Starokonstantinov on 9 March. In that action staff-sergeant Smirnov with his squad have destroyed 2 turret machine-guns, a 75-mm cannon and 35 enemy infantrymen. For his courage Alexey Smirnov was nominated for the 1st class of the Order of the Patriotic War, but was instead awarded the lower grade Order of the Red Star. On 20 July 1944 height 283.0 was assaulted by 40 German soldiers. Smirnov rushed into action inspiring his comrades and therefore defeated the attack. In that engagement 17 Germans were killed and 7 taken prisoners solely by Smirnov. A week after, Smirnov and his three fellow-soldiers were scouting for new fire positions and encountered 16 enemy soldiers who tried to capture them. But they encountered active opposition. Nine of them were killed and five taken prisoners by the Soviet soldiers. For that action Smirnov was awarded the 3rd class of the Order of Glory. During the Vistula-Oder Offensive on 17 January 1945, Smirnov's battery was ambushed near the village of Postashevitze. Smirnov with three fellow soldiers attacked the enemy. Alexey Makarovich shot down three and captured two enemy soldiers and the way ahead was free. On 22 January, when the Soviet Army was crossing the Oder, Smirnov with his mortar squad ferried the river on their own and demolished two turret machine-guns and 20 enemy soldiers. The 36th Regiment therefore managed to gain and expand the bridgehead near the village of Eichenrid, and Smirnov was awarded the 2nd class of the Order of Glory. Showing great valour in the battlefield, Smirnov also led the regiment's amateur theatre. Only in May, June and July 1944 he organized 10 performances attended by total of 6500 soldiers. Smirnov's theatre took part in the division's contests in 1943 and 1944 and won the first prize. Within that period Alexey Smirnov was awarded the Medal "For Battle Merit". Starshina Smirnov was unable to be present at the Battle of Berlin. He received a concussion in one of his battles and, after stationary treatment, was demobilized.

They understand everything very subtly and accurately. For them, hearing is a second sight!... They can watch movies with their eyes closed. They perceive each episode and the accompanying music as a whole! For me personally, it was a delight and a revelation. They especially liked the soundtrack to the movie "Moonshiners". Their positive feedback is the highest rating!
