  • Matt, Nikon has done an amazing job of introducing cameras and lenses for the professional market. The introduction of a Z6III, would complement the Zf camera and address the mid-range camera market (cameras for the hobbyist, enthusiast and second camera for the professional). As a Z50 user and preference for APSC camera, Nikon is lacking cameras in this market. Their competitors have lots of options in this market. Nikon needs to address this market with new APSC cameras, perhaps a Z50II and Z70/90. In my opinion a APSC camera with IBIS, similar AF to the ZF and Z8 and better battery life than the Z50 would be an awesome camera. Let's hope Nikon is listening.

  • I'm a wedding and real estate photographer and videographer, and I shoot marathons and triathlons on the side. For real estate, I can still get by with my z6II, but I'd love the AF tracking features of the Z9/Z8 in a mid-range affordable lightweight package, along with those wonderful Nikon ergonomics and durability, for everything else. The Z6III would be a great addition for versatility as a primary cam for weddings and a backup for sports/weddings and real estate, where my Z9 and Z6II are currently used. Waiting to buy the right 3rd work camera that would essentially cover everything I currently do without missing a beat, should something break and need repairs, or become too expensive to fix.

  • Cheers Matt, I love your channel and find your delivery both informative and relaxing. I own 2 Z50's, because I really enjoy using them. I think that they are a very under-appreciated camera. I also have my trusty Z6 which I also adore. I find that both the Z50 and Z6 have their place in my personal work flow. I pair up one of my Z50's with my 200mm-500mm f5.6 and just love the combination. Great for my birding and deer stalking. My Z6 I use for everything else, macro work in particular married up with my 105mm f2.8. Since last October I've bust a blood vessel, or two, agonising over getting the beautiful Zf. I realised very quickly after reading the specs that it wasn't just a pretty face but a scientific marvel too. After watching your review on it I made the decision to treat myself to one. I absolutely love it, I'm still adjusting to it's wonderfully different rhythm but it has made me smile each time I switch it on and use it. I'm currently waiting for my new Z28mm-400mm f4-8, which is on order. I decided to get one after watching your review on it. Thank you for taking the time to spread your passion for photography around this wonderful planet. I'm either going to have to stop watching your channel so much or get another mortgage, hee, hee!. Keep up the good work and thanks again. From a very happy chap here in the UK. 🍀🍀😊🍀🍀

  • Hello Matt, Camera over phone, Yes a phone dose good results but cameras can give amazing results, with the last bit down to the person behind the Camera. I have the 19mm PC-e lens from Nikon and it is superb at what it can do, but dose not work for every image. (Not a cheep lens). For me it would be a 24mm PCe in Z mount.

  • A D6 firmware update! I note it was one of the new two step updates. Surely this is the last update for the greatest DSLR ever; as 'forgotten' as it was almost from the very beginning :) Love the peek at Nikon manufacturing back of the house. AND, if NIKON shipped firmware that didn't work, the internet lens sniffing crowd would be calling for the company's collapse! NOT that i think the hate/click bait crowd should attack Sony.

  • I suspect they're holding off on the Z6iii on purpose so more people buy the Z8 impatiently. The Zf was basically everything I needed from a camera spec-wise (Expeed7 level performance, 10-bit video and better flipscreen) but I need all-day ergonomics and the buttons, but the Z8 is a step above in all regards so I opted for that instead of continuing to wait and I've seen so many people that got the 8 vs wait for the 6iii I might upgrade/sell my 6ii to the 6iii for my second body if it's appealing enough

  • I bought into Nikon cameras and have enjoyed all of them a lot. I love my Z9 more as the firmware rolls out new features. It is however theZ6Iii I am really waiting for. Nikon Z lenses are brilliant. Even so it will be very tempting to press send on an order for a Z6iii just like the order for the Z9 I placed about a week after the launch. This time it will be hours rather than days for lots and lots of Nikon users.

  • Phone Vs Real Camera. No contest. A phone is highly limited in many areas and tasks. If excellent prints are erquire, a phone image is what I consider, ... rether poor. I really like where Nikon is and where Nikon is heading. I also like the fact that if I want to use Nikkor lenses that I bought back in 1973, I still can. There are many other companies that have changed their lens mount and rendered their previous mount lenses usless! I'm not including Thread mount lenses. I would love to see another Nikonos U W camera. I used one for years both under water and in bad weather situations. I won't hold my breath! LOL

  • I walked into the store to buy sony a6700 but already sold out so i looked at Nikon z6ii and decided to buy it but it had to be ordered also. I then decided Canon r7 but with out the kit lens as I already have many Canon lenses and the adapter then they said they also had to order one without kit lens. Finally I walked over to Panasonic S5ii and an older guy was also looking at the display model but he had to xome back for it in a few days when he had enough money. i picked it up andnit was similar in feel to rhe sony a7 cameras but the other guy started telling me why he was going to buy the S5ii and dual cards, weather sealed and the best video of all of them plus IBIand they actually had one in stock so i bought it and got an extra free 50mm lens . im so happy with this purchase as its a complete joy to be ablento get pro results even Im an amateur. Just knowing I could do commercial work with my Lumix makes me smile.

Based on what I know of the current line ups from Canon, Sony or Nikon, for me Nikon is still the best there is considering the technology packed into Z8 and firmware upgrade support from Nikon. Sony is proposing to charge for firmware upgrade for its A9iii to unlock features on A9iii.

  • A completely unique lens would be a Z 200mm f/2 TC, effectively giving a 300mm f/2.8. This would be perfect for indoor sports as well as outdoor portraits and fashion. Yes, it would be a fairly small market, but Canon has the RF 100-300mm f/2.8 and Sony has a 300mm f/2.8. Bringing the 200mm f/2 back, along with the 280mm f/2.8 at the flick of a switch, would be different. While the Z 70-200mm f/2.8 is excellent, at closest focus the tele end is reduced from 200mm to under 150mm. The prime+TC would stay at 200mm.

    @UnconventionalReasoning@UnconventionalReasoning21 күн бұрын
    • This doesn't make any physical logic I'm afraid. If 200mm f2 (or 2.8) has a TC it would lose minimum a stop of light so when engaged it would become between 350-400mm f/4. That's how the current 1.4 TC works, i don't think laws of physics will upgrade that fast specifically for teleconverters. 👀

      @dicekolev5360@dicekolev536020 күн бұрын
    • @@dicekolev5360 A 200mm f/2 with a 1.4x teleconverter becomes a 280mm f/2.8 lens. That's how the "laws of physics" work.

      @UnconventionalReasoning@UnconventionalReasoning20 күн бұрын
    • @@UnconventionalReasoning I was actually thinking of another thing so nevermind + I am drunk, you are correct, lol. But 80mm is a waste of TC if you ask me 😄

      @dicekolev5360@dicekolev536020 күн бұрын
    • @@dicekolev5360 It's less about the difference in mm, more about the ratio change. This is the same 1.4x that is in the 400mm f/2.8 TC and the 600mm f/4 TC. In all three cases, the comparison is between the focal length change of 1.4x or the crop of 1.4x, slightly less than a DX crop. If people are interested in teleconverters, the 1.4x has less image quality loss compared to the 2x, and it has only a 1-stop loss of light. Then, the advantage of the built-in TC is that it is optically matched to exactly that one lens, resulting in the least image quality loss, even less than a zoom lens. A decade ago, Nikon had both the 200mm f/2 and 300mm f/2.8 F-mount lenses. With the TC, these could be combined into one lens, increasing its usefulness and the number of people who might want to buy it.
