These are simply Soul-ish arrangements of her music, which is why I think it's so good stripped down like this, highlighting the melodies and vocals with effective but minimal instrumentation. Yeah, she does know how to put on a Pop performance, but she's pretty similar to Christina Aguilera (not as powerful / as much range), but she's got that vibe and talent. I think she should just go work on an entire Soul album and reach a entirely new and wider audience. She's clearly capable of delivering in that space.

I was never into pop music until I heard Dua blend it with disco. I'm sure she's not the first, just the first I've heard, and i love it. This is what a 10/10 performance looks like. It doesn't need to be a huge, flashy production. Just a well organized group genuinely loving what they do. Her dancing isn't performative, just her grooving to tunes that she enjoys hearing, and by the way she smiles and giggles throughout the whole thing you can tell she loves singing them too. This felt very intimate, like something you might see at a dive bar while everyone is sitting back having drinks, and I absolutely loved it.

I feel the same levels of excitement every time I watch this video; Dua is clearly the center of attention, and rightly so, of course, but I really love the collaborative vibe of the concert, how she brings in all the talent, and how they all perform together, and having fun while doing it. I love the song choices and I find her voice to be powerful but sweet to the ears, a unique and potent mix that puts me in a different space whenever I hear it. I love her white outfit against the orange set, the lighting, cinematography, editing, and background props. It was all carefully planned and well done; you could tell that she was surrounded by very competent people she could trust to make her work perfect for her audience. I love everything about this home concert! 10/10 for me! ❤

There's hardly any one hit wonders anymore with how the music world works these days as far as they completelystop making music after 1 album, most all keep making music that at least some people like. It just doesn't get mainstream recognition. For example I had no idea until like last year or so that Carly Rae jepsen is still making music, yeah the Call me Maybe Girl. And her album Emotion is pretty good, especially the title track. But Dua Lipa is coming up even more in popularity so yeah she's definitely not a one hit wonder even as far as actual mainstream hits go. But like i said, no one is, really.

This version of Dua Lipa is F**king Amazing!!
Impeccable performance by all of them!!! Love the classic funk guitar and bass grooves in her music, and the band crushed it!
Its so nice that all of the background singers were in a circle with Dua. It wasnt about putting the spotlight on Dua or idolizing her as a pop star. It was people gathering to make music and have fun
I can totally see this after read this coment. Very nice of Dua.
Yes!!!! But she actually need to see them directly.. one of them is leading always.
I really love that about Dua.
However, she is so outstanding... she stands out.
Because...she’s not a pop star
I really liked a couple of her singles before, but this is making me want to see her in person
Highly recommended it. She did a livestream last week of studio 2054 and it honestly felt like a concert. She served VOCALS, chero, confidence, outfits, stage sets, special guests. EVERYTHING. Future Nostalgia Tour next year is going to be incredible
This girl is good
@@multixfandomedits7241 I loved Studio 2054! I’m so excited for her real concerts later! I ordered a t-shirt but it didn’t come in time for the stream so I’ll wear it later 😜
I saw her for her self titled tour and she was amazing, she has bettered miles since then and I can’t wait to see her for Future nostalgia!!!!🚀🚀🚀
💯
everything about this tiny desk concert is just perfect
0:01 levitating 4:00 Pretty please 7:48 Love again 12:21 Don't start now
Thank you
Love Agaaain so niceee like wow 🤩
Thanks! Reeeaaally helpful... Now I can listen to the same songs over and over again without memorizing!
Click‘n‘repeat 🕺 I was surprised NPR didn‘t add timestamps.
Your comment should be pinned, it helps a lot
You can just tell everybody in the room knows they are playing good music. They are just enjoying themselves. I LOVEEE
Arguably one of the best Tiny Desk Concerts there has ever been
No argue, really. It might be **the** best.
I just love the vibe of the whole concert! Dua has such an amazing voice!
Future Nostalgia needs to be the AOTY at the Grammys. This album is too good.
a trapt or mumbbe rap album will win it doesnt matter how good this pop is
@@edwinelmore2082 It's between Folklore and Future Nostalgia , because they are both the best albums among nominated ones and this year in genral .
@@aditya_raina_ but it’s scammy . They probably will choose a random album .

This soft glowy orange light is SO Flattering
It’s so aesthetically pleasing, with all of her singers and musician’s outfits/shoes and then her skin and hair 🧡💖
Q voz linda 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Her voice 😍
Dua Lipa deserves all the credit. Her songs are kickin’ it since her debut. It’s hard to think of an artist that in a span of 4 short years have 20+ hits.
Taylor Swift?
@@alexandra_13. both queens
Katy Perry had 7 no. 1 hits 4 years into her career
Rihanna?
Ariana and Blackpink also
She should do more in this retro funk-disco style. I started strutting around the room.... This is news to me
she has a full album of it ;)
@@Kazzildo Which?
I know right!! "Levitating" has me grooving sooooo hard
@@sebastrail Future Nostalgia, her last album
Go listen to Future Nostalgia if you haven't yet.
They all are performing at such a high level here and all are so talented, that they make it seem effortless, but the skill to pull this off like this is so rare! Just love this whole performance, I have always loved Dua's voice, sooooooo gooood! I've said it many time in my Tiny desk comments, but Josh's audio engineering and mixing on this are just sublime!! wow, gold standard for those who are going to work in a studio or live--- this is how it's done--- THIS!
Wow, I loved that. Great mix and fantastic vocals. I love watching a singing work with BVs.
She's having fun and it resonates. I recently became a fan realizing she's not just a one hit wonder pop star....I dig it....
she is also a lyricist:-)
There's hardly any one hit wonders anymore with how the music world works these days as far as they completelystop making music after 1 album, most all keep making music that at least some people like. It just doesn't get mainstream recognition. For example I had no idea until like last year or so that Carly Rae jepsen is still making music, yeah the Call me Maybe Girl. And her album Emotion is pretty good, especially the title track. But Dua Lipa is coming up even more in popularity so yeah she's definitely not a one hit wonder even as far as actual mainstream hits go. But like i said, no one is, really.
Carly Rae actually has had some recent mainstream hits and her music is still solid
Definitely not a one hit wonder lol, she has more hits than anyone current, she's a hit making machine, she's amazing
Absolutely!! I actually fell in love from her first single some years ago. She’s so lovely.
It is not fair. I am an old grumpy metal guy, and here I am dancing like a teenager in my kitchen with this video on repeat. This music is a pure ray of sunshine.
hahahah yessss
:))))))))) yes
I do the same since last night. This music is sooo 😄 La diversidad musical que corre en estos tiempos es tremenda e insipiradora
No shame if you feel it just dance. Im 36 and was dancing on my birthday for like 20 hrs straight. Yes I was on some molly but it was fun though
Her voice is rich and the bass lines are so dope. Metalhead here too
I remember watching this on repeat during the height of the pandemic! So good!!!
That VOICE. ❤
I’m still not over this performance, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched this.
Me too! I think I've been watching this video at least 3x a week since it was released
@@beniciovieira4139 it’s the love again performance for me, the level of disrespect I feel for not getting a single for it is unreal.
OMG same!!!
I almost forget to listen it today! Sorry guys
I found it yesterday and I have already watched it about 15 times. :D
her confidence is EVERYTHING
Trueee
When you look and sound like her what's not to be confident about
so many extremely talented people in a tiny room ...
Still one of my favourite TD concerts 2 years on!
The backup singers when Dua began singing Love Again: 🧍🏾♀️🧍🏼♀️🧍🏼♀️🧍🏾♂️
Lol 😂

LSKALSKALSKALKSLAKSLA STOP 💀💀
😭😭😭
Haha yes but love it
Never realized how essential the cowbell was on Don't Start Now
Yeah, at her livestream last Friday, she and the backing dancers mimed the cowbell as it sounded- one of the singers here probably could have pulled it off with the real thing
Fun fact: every song with a cowbell in it is fire
Needs more cowbells.
This I love show much.. I often watch this .. Dua ‘s one of the best concerts I’m sure ❤
Es un concierto particular, la verdad se disfruta mucho, GRAN artista Dua Lipa.
Those backing vocalists are unreal!!!!
can we talk about how every musician is in their element in this video? they're having the time of their lives there for a moment
Love your music. Enjoying reminiscing the past with these classic old songs.
