  • You should absolutely do low stress. You're an engineer. That's what you do. Make things built strong and to last, not skirt the disaster line like an architect.

    @Seegtease@Seegtease8 ай бұрын
    • That’s kind of opposite of how engineering works. Making it just barely above the requisite strength is way more engineering!

Instead it's sometimes things like the theme song to ancient TV show "Friends" with bands of that time that 1/200 have ever heard of. One example of Friends style music: "Hey now youre a rockstar get your gang on and go play" which I could NEVER understand how anyone enjoyed it (it was the most annoying summer in all history when that music came out) so should have been left on the drawing room floor. Unless.. he only does songs he secretly hates and is making fun of them. Now that I could understand. Just wish he'd do a Borris the Spider song by the Who. It'd be perfect for all the quirky sounds.

  • Matt, the bridge broke at 3:59 because replacing the steel in the middle of the muscle with wood allowed the muscle to compress more. The muscle wasn’t as rigid because wood stretches more that steel. This additional stretchiness lead to the steel on the arch experiencing more tensile force, breaking it.
