    • @@gsmith2731 I second that. With Ger's background and Locky's passion, I reckon there would be some wonderful nuggets. They're both very genuine in their approaches. This style of play, when executed properly, is very fluid and unpredictable, leaving the opposition flummoxed. The Chelsea and Arsenal games, and the control of Brentford, gave glimpses. It's when, as a team, the principles break down, that we have horrible results. And that's why we are fosuing on personnel at the back and iin the middle. We need a solid bench that has fully bought in. Hopefully, White Bull football is just going through a birthing process, if y'know what I mean.

    • @@gsmith2731 one day I'd definitely be up for that. I'm just starting my final semester at university doing my dissertation plus my analyst role so I'm just going to be too busy for the next few months and videos will probably slow down until end of march. But after that I'd love too, would be class!

  • Awesome breakdown, love the format, and good timing. Bc in today's presser, Marsch was asked specifically about the benefits of playing narrow. And here you see that there are plenty of times where the ball / group moves wide in order to progress forward. Great job!

    • Cheers Lee! Lucky timing, I was buzzing when I released it then jesse started talking about it in the presser haha. Eaxcly mate, we like to play in closer areas so if we lose the ball we are in a position to win it back which is vital in this system

  • “It's always about controlling the space of the opponent,” he said. “Whether you have the ball or whether you don't have the ball, you want to be compact so you can manage moments of transition."

  • Good analysis, really happy to see our shape in the press coming together. Aside from the sloppy goal at the beginning of the Villa match our press has become so much more effective these past two games. We win it back quickly, limit options and have a lot of control. What I don't like about Marsch's tactics is that we always seem to think winning it back means we're attacking in transition. It's not true. Sometimes we do need to play it back or switch the play. Too often we've wanted to attack quickly and given it away due to sloppy play, then we're the ones defending transitions we shouldn't be

    • Ye i agree mate there is times when the full back is in so much space and we decide to turn back into trouble. We had this issue at the team I'm at and a lot of it is about been brave and taking a risk, I'm sure marsch is okay for the players to do that otherwise I doubt the fullback would be making that run in the first place. But either way it would be nice for us to use that to eloviate pressure.

  • Southampton were the same for 3-4 years under hassenhuttl. I feel the ability of the players we have now is being hampered by the tactics.

    • Fair enough pal I appreciate the difference of opinion and I can see plsyers like roca really excelling in a wider system for sure. But for me from what I've watched and researched hassenhuttl and jesse play very different although they learnt from the same system. But that's just my opinion, appreciate the support pal 🙌

  • Great video. Well researched. Fed up of the clueless Jesse Marsch narrative. A lot of the defensive problems we’ve seen, imo, aren’t because they’re pressing too much but they’re not pressing enough. There are def issues and downsides especially with the application of the system. Hoping to see us smash second half of the season. Nervous about it and he needs to get results or he’ll be gone but Christ some of the stuff on social media would drive you mad. The system isn’t too everyone’s liking and that’s fine but it’s not without a depth and a philosophy to it.

    • Ye without a doubt there is a lot we need to improve and the gaffer is the one who has to do that at the end of the day. Rusults are obviously vital and I fully know that, but yes as you said I feel there is enough people absolutely going at jesse marsch for just talking 😂 people saying he needs to shut up while he's just answering questions is baffling. But ye people can hate the way we play (I'm not even the biggest fan of some things) but that doesn't mean it's wrong or that it doesn't work because it can work. Appreciate the support pal

  • I've been thinking this 'narrowness' of Leeds. It has even been dubbed 'penis ball' by TSB! Obviously this relates to condensing the formation and trying to isolate the ball on one side of the pitch when we press. This could be on the right OR the left which basically means that the 'penis' can move left and right depending on the direction that we press. Would it be more accurate to call it 'TURKEY SLAP BALL'?

    @iceiceBailey1919@iceiceBailey1919 Жыл бұрын
    • Haha 'penis ball' is a great name, makes me chuckle haha. I like either name tbh, they both work 😂. I doubt marsch adressing the players saying "right guys slap turkey ball time"
