  • A number of people have asked if we'll do this again next year. I'm hesitant to make any promises, but we're definitely leaning towards doing so. There's no small amount of work involved, especially given that there are certain things we might want to do more deliberately if we did a SoME2. Stay tuned!

    • Although my video didn't enter the finalist, this event (SoME1) initiated my own math channel. That is the most important thing :) Thank you and look forward to SoME2 ! 😉✨🎉

    • I mean, it's pretty cool that lots of people made videos for this. But for many of them, these are their *only* videos. Most people are unlikely to subscribe to somebody who makes 1 good video, hoping for more, so many of these folks will just disappear again. Come to think of it, I haven't been watching 3b1b from the start. I think maybe I started watching his stuff after he'd been at it for a year and had over a dozen videos (during the linear algebra series, probably, or maybe the calculus series).

  • By making this contest you've inadvertently created nearly infinite content for someone like me to binge on. I've been basically non stop learning new things and revisiting old topics that I never got a solid understanding of in my undergrad. I can appreciate how much effort it takes to create these sorts of high quality that are heavily researched, so this contest is a sort of outsourcing of that process. I am the benefactor and I feel so lucky to be able to learn about all of these topics in such an approachable and digestible form. Thank you 3b1b, and to the lovely maths community we have on KZhead.

For all the issues I have with the KZhead algorithm, it really is amazing to notice the shift in curation towards a much greater diversity of maths related channels. • 3blue1brown, I have to say this: With your contributions to Mathematics you will forever change the way Math will be taught and thought of. With your visual methods and those of all other great math youtubers, you make viewers and math enthusiasts understand topics that are seemingly impossible to grasp for the average brain. Aside your brilliant videos you have also brought the community closer together, unfolding the huge potential of all math creators on KZhead and other platforms. Thanks to you I can already see a new golden age for Mathematics, something that would have taken decades longer without your ambitions. You have also motivated lots of people to also share their contribution to Mathematics, making them feel more involved in research and also making us feel like scientists ourselves. I might consider making some KZhead videos about Math as well thanks to you :) Do not ever stop making these videos and I also ask you to make the competition an annual (or maybe even every 4 months) event to continue unfolding the entire potential of our brilliance. Thank you 3blue1brown for all of your contributions! (also, sorry for my bad english)

  • You are actually making an impact around the world. I am living at the part of world where mathematics is made so tough to understand because teachers have not understood it well yet to deliver it with ease and enthusiasm. Thank you for providing such beautiful content and creating a community to share, learn and grow.
