@Onyen Bew he does. His body isnt built for grappling. Everyone has genetics best suited for some things better than others. Izzy is tall and long but isn’t super wide. Jon is somehow built both for grappling and striking. He is tall and has long, slender limbs but a thick and wide midsection and back. Thats the physical aspect, the mental aspect is that Jon grew up in the US where they wrestle more than New Zealand and he wrestled in highschool and college, Izzy grew up break dancing lol its not as easy to learn how to grapple as an adult as it is to learn how to strike.
He doesn't want that smoke with Bones that's why 🤣 quiet now

Daniel Cormier, who used to toss heavyweights around like ragdolls, before moving down to 205lb, was surprised at Jon's strength as a light heavyweight. In their 2 fights he managed to take Jon down just once, but only for a few seconds. Jon took Cormier down 3 times, which were the only times Cormier was ever taken down in the UFC. At 248 lb, Jon's strength probably just overwhelmed Gane.
Knowing how good Jon's ground game was pretty much defeated Gane b4 the fight even started. Once he got taken down he probably thought this shits over. I'm tapping as soon as possible.
@Stan That's calling Gane a coward and a quitter, and overlooking the fact that Jon's stand up technique is every bit as daunting as his wrestling. Apart from that, a fighter's ground game is only effective if he has the strength and endurance to impose it on his opponent. Skill alone can't cut it
Or cyril has literally trained mma for 4 years, is barely a Blue belt and jon has grappled most his life. It was a mismatch on the ground and cyril freaked out on the feet

Even though there's some odd sort of disliking between Izzy and Jones, his reaction to the finish is amazing to me. There's never any disappointment or bias coming from Izzy (outside of reacting to his teammates). He's simply a fan of the sport. I think that should be commended more.

My favourite victory of the card was Shavkat. Especially because he was truly tested. I've been believing the Weasle's hype of this guy and this guy proved the hype is real. It seems even Curtis Blaydes has a path to victory against Gane now. Or at least that's what Jones made it look like.
This card had so many crazy performances. I got Tabitha Ricci with the nasty Judo and armbar as the best performance.
Blades doesn't have the fight IQ of Jones. There is a reason why Jon doesn't shoot for a double leg. Blades shot for a double leg against Lewis and got slept. Gane would eat Blades up.
