I loved having babies around the house. In my marriage, I was the first to change a diaper. A real man does that without complaining. Now I love my grandchildren. 20 in total and with #6 of 7 children getting married next month to a super lady, more will be coming. Oh wait, one of my daughters-in-law confided in my wife and I that she's expecting their 7th! We've actually had 21 grandchildren but we lost one at birth... So devastating.

This absolutely made my day! What a precious little babe. To everyone questioning the practice of swaddling, most newborns benefit greatly from swaddling. Newborns have a startle reflex, called the Moro reflex, in which a sudden noise or sudden movement can cause a sudden involuntary jerk, which when the baby is sleeping can be very upsetting to the little guy. When swaddled before sleeping, this provides comfort for him while he goes through the newborn stage. He is not wrapped too tightly. You do not see any redness on his arms. He is not fussing when he is being unwrapped. He was perfectly content. Stretching is a natural reaction for most people when waking up. The swaddling blanket makes it easy to swaddle the correct way. And.....he may also be thinking, “I’m free! Woo hoo, it’s playtime!!!!”

@@patriciakjellander5474 I think-- but you will have to check-- that men tend to relate more to toddlers than newborns. The reason seems simple. Women are biologically created to tend to children, so men cannot relate on the same level as a woman can. For anyone complaining. Most babies like being swaddled, it gives them comfort like when they were in the womb, it's like a hug for them. Ask any child care professional.
@nicoleanime4003 жыл бұрын
@@sherricooley2572 That's called preference. Even if babies cannot open their mouth and verbalise their likes and dislikes with full sentences, they still prefer different things. Some babies hate beef-flavored baby food (to pick a random flavor as an example), so does that mean giving beef baby food to the babies who love it is a "fad"? Of course not. It's just some babies like it while others don't. To use an example closer to swaddling: some people like hugs, while others don't. The mere existence of the "don't"s doesn't make hugging a "fad".
@madeleine615093 жыл бұрын

@rajaecoleman14333 жыл бұрын
@@sherricooley2572 You are the dictionary definition of closemindedness. Literally just saying "Anything you do differently to what I did when raising my children is wrong and merely a fad". Swaddling has been around for literal *CENTURIES* (feel free to look it up) and just because you didn't hear about it until recently, you feel the need to refer to it as a "fad"? Sorry if you disagree but I suspect swaddling has been around longer than you have. So, by your own logic, your entire parenting system is just a fad which needs to die out... Yknow, merely because it's newer than swaddling. Which btw, I am not arguing in support of swaddling. I don't think swaddling will cause your child to grow up to be a kind and loving genius, earning 7 figures. I don't think it's negative either. I'm also NOT arguing that, if you don't swaddle your kids, you're a lesser parent. I am merely a believer in "pay attention to your baby's(/babies') likes, wants, and needs and do what is best for them". If you think they like swaddling, swaddle them. If not, don't. But you just look like a closeminded fool for treating different baby preferences as a "fad". The fact that you use even just sleeping position as some sort of argument should show how utterly stupid your entire point of view is. Human beings have different sleeping preferences. Even without being swaddled, some babies will prefer sleeping on their backs. I sleep on my side with my legs up. Does that mean anyone who sleeps on their back and/or with their legs extended are just buying into a fad? Of course not, because I'm not an insane, egotistical, closeminded lunatic, forcing every single mundane preferance I have onto the rest of humanity. Again, I am not arguing for or against swaddling, I am merely arguing against your closeminded and arrogant mindset. You shouldn't be raising kids when you yourself have failed to fully mature.
@madeleine615093 жыл бұрын
@@rajaecoleman1433 Yes, I know. Hence why I pointed out the fact that different babies prefer different things... Such as how some will like being swaddled and others won't. Doesn't make it a fad.
@madeleine615093 жыл бұрын
@@sherricooley2572 Judging by your last sentence, I'm guessing you felt personally attacked, due to you reading meanings which weren't there. You see, when the initial commenter said that it's "like a hug for them", that is what is refered to as an analogy. It is not saying that swaddling is a hug, nor is it saying that people who didn't swaddle their kids didn't hug them. It is a way of comparing two things, in this case: the physical pressure around the body for both a hug and swaddling. You seem to have interpreted it as "in order to hug and love your child, you must swaddle them", however, that interpretation is (frankly) incorrect. Just because swaddling is LIKE a hug doesn't say anything about the parenting of someone who does or does not swaddle. That's because it's LIKE a hug, but is not a hug itself. Here's another analogy as an example: tea is LIKE coffee in the fact that it contains caffeine... However, that statement in no way implies that people who haven't ever had tea also haven't had coffee. You can drink tea without ever drinking coffee, and vice versa. That part makes my day
This absolutely made my day!
Beautifully explained Deborah
I actually read this because I'm single lol
Tx Deborah. I was concerned that it was not a healthy practice
You are so considerate for breaking that down for ppl who wouldn't understand 👍🤗

Por eso es que tanta gente se siente paralizada y no sabe qué hacer con su vida. Por suerte, ya muchas mujeres modernas, han dejado esas prácticas tan ortodoxas con sus bebés. @@patriciakjellander5474 I think-- but you will have to check-- that men tend to relate more to toddlers than newborns. The reason seems simple. Women are biologically created to tend to children, so men cannot relate on the same level as a woman can. I saw research saying that childbirth changes a woman's brain to become more empathetic and responsive to a child. So it is understandable why the majority of babysitters, child carers, and other child-related jobs are women.

For anyone complaining. Most babies like being swaddled, it gives them comfort like when they were in the womb, it's like a hug for them. Ask any child care professional.
@@madeleine61509 it's called preference
@@rajaecoleman1433 Yes, I know. Hence why I pointed out the fact that different babies prefer different things... Such as how some will like being swaddled and others won't. Doesn't make it a fad.
The mere fact that tea and coffee are similar in their caffeine content does say anything about an individual's consumption of either drink.
So cute! I would stretch too having my arms beside me for who knows how long lol 🥰
Ой ты моя радость!Лапусечка такой!Здоровья тебе крепкого малыш!😍👋😘❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Every time those little arms just fly up... 🥰
Adorable little one😊. What I like about him is that he is consistent😊
consistent? in what sense?
@@estebanmoeller It’s the same baby so he’s consistent in the fact that he does the same thing each time he’s unbundled.
How incredibly sweet. So precious, the faces he made and the sleepy stretching, so cute. My 2nd daughter stretched every single time she woke up too but then she'd stretch a few more long stretches lol I think half of her day involved stretching, so cute.
Oh my, he is the sweetest baby! Watching this made me miss having babies around. ❤️
Aww look at this little angel! It's been so many years since I've had babies this age. There's nothing sweeter than a tiny baby. So beautiful and cute as a button💕💚💛
I laughed because it’s like his arms are on automatic pilot‼️. Or his arms are being manipulated like a marionette - Unswaddle, raise arms and 😊 SMILE (on the inside). 🤣
ooiiii
Exactly....😂 So cute😍
Why doesn't this video have a million likes? He is so precious, this is serotonin boosting
His little belly on the 1st one is sooo cute!!!! He's such a cutie pie 🥰🥰🥰
Ain't he just the cutest lil guy... definitely makes me miss my children being that age...💙

It helps me remember those precious times too.. My firstborn just turned 50 in May.. Hard to believe that much time has flown by..
Clearly you have never lived in the south then... You must have to much time on your hands to be correcting grammar mistakes in comments... Troll!
@B D Hey!! Be nice....😒
I know she just waits for him to do that every time. It's so cute.
This is what my baby does when she wakes up and I pick her up 🥰 so sweet little stretch and it makes her eyebrows go up
What a beautiful baby.So full of new beginnings.awwww l just wanna hug him.xxxx
He is so adorable. Make me want to pick him up and kiss da baby and love him. I miss when my kids were little like that.
Exactly, sometimes u wish they remain babies forever.
Me too 😞
I always wish I could go back in time to visit my little babies.🥰🥰
My son hated being swaddled. He'd work at least one little arm out every time. He seemed hot natured, too.
My son would always seem to get that one arm free to lol
I always leave the underarms out because she loves sleeping with the hands up as she did in the womb.
My daughter hated it too. I mean, full meltdown when we used them. So we switched to just sleepers and sleep sacs and she was so happy because she could use her arms.
My daughter was the same. She now refuses to sleep under a blanket so I have to put her in pajamas that have feet because her legs would be super cold in the morning from kicking the covers off.
My kids too. No doctors, nurses or swaddle blankets can hold them in.😂😂😂😂
Stretch little one, stretch!!!! Oh, it feels sooo good!!! 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊
What a sweet precious little baby. Cherish the moment, it goes by very fast
Babies being swaddled then unswaddled are the cutest things ever
Okay, he’s stretching but also looks like he just won a marathon. He definitely looks like a winner to me!
Omg I can not ❤ ugh his face 😊I’m so in love he’s so cute❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How adorable...and may God continue to bless the babies.
He has this angelic face and he’s just so calmed and behaved. He’ll be a good boy.

How could anyone dislike this precious little gift from God, "I could watch him all day,"😍
❤❤❤ soooo cute!!❤❤❤yeah, he saying "LIBERTY AT LAST!!!"😂😂😂 love it!!
Look at his little fuzz on his head! He so cute!
I love seeing how much enjoyment he gets once he starts stretching,even if when it starts he looks like he is in a bad mood. Granted, it was a long time ago, but when I was that small we had these unisex extra-long nightgowns with a drawstring at the bottom, and mitts at the end of the sleeves so we didn’t accidentally scratch ourselves (and you could take those off, too).
SARAH PRICE,YOU MADE ME LAUGH CUZ THATS WHAT MY BABIES WORE. .THEN THEY GOT RID OF THE STRINGS AND JUST HAD ELASTIC...SWADDLING WASN'T A THING IN THE 70'S..😂😂😂😂😂
Mary Martina My siblings and I were ‘80’s babies. As were three of my cousins, who lived up the street. All unisex clothing items got a workout in my family. Actually, the girly stuff too cuz I have 2 sisters. Glad to trigger fond memories!
Bless his heart, it just looks like it feels soooo good.🤗
So precious and cute❤🥰 stretches and belly rubs for such a little sweetie💕
