Iron golem is indeed much harder to deal with because of the 10k hp and firebolts all over the place but I honestly think that the main boss of forge isn't the golem but the Whisperer. First reason is Whisperer drops the key to the Archives which is true to the 1st two bosses (Chief & Necro), and second reason is when Whisperer dies, he has a name tagged on his dead body visible when you're looting him the same as Chief and Necro even for Envoy.
Iron golem has 10k hp not 20k
