@@Hesselaermost of the new players who are good or not, play in a generic way. Looks the same. It's not possible to identify who is who. Older players had a unique style. Bernie has a unique style.
@@HesselaerIts not about smooth technique, its about durability and consistency. All the Asian schooled players looks to us like a robots, that can’t even make a mistake. Highest speed, strongest loops, million repeats. But European school based players, as we are, looks to table tennis little differently, we are not trying to make 1000 loops w/o mistake, but make loops with side spin for example not to block the shot, but to do chop block and so on. Because we can’t ever be as stable as asians, due to mentality

Both Dima's and Bernie's tomahawk serve is from a slanted ball throw, so could be considered illegal.
@@endezoorif you look closely you will find that the ball is held over the palm wide open and it is not spun while serving ...hence it is a legal serve according to the rule book
@@utkarsh3927 that is only a part of the aspects. - The ball must be thrown up from an open palm, - it must be up at least ~20 cm (to be visible over the net) - it must be thrown up vertically. Cleanest serves ever: Vladimir Samsonov

These European commentators really make no attempt to hide who it is that they wish to see win the game . Comments like " Bernie is so close to nocking her out , she is close but not there yet " . Guess that Hayata got wind of the biased comment and decided to cause some disappointment for The Eurocentric commentators . Bernie is a good player and l love her confidence and the energy she brings to her game lively player . She started making too much unforced errors in the third set , that missed serve by her in the fifth set says it perfectly . Hayata reduced her incident in the same period . Bernie was the stronger player but still lost This was the main difference in the game, the one who made the least errors won .
So Chinese or Japanese commenters cheer for both players? I guess you never watched a championship there.

are these comentators and umpires blind? not a single tomahawk serve of szocs' was legal! such a stain on our sport.
yep, she gets an unfair advantage with illegal serves. why do umpires let her get away with it? poor refereeing in its finest
To be fair, at least half of pro players serve illegal with the slanted ball throws and covered balls. This can be considered as minor deviation.. at least the opponent can clearly see the ball constantly.
well, I see it differently. If half of the pros are able to serve legally, then there is no reason why the other half cannot. Hina could have done some dodgy serves but she didn't. while I agree that quite a few pros use borderline serves in her case there is no room for interpretation. her serves are clearly illegal.
@@alexandertsoy2996 yeah, don't get me wrong. I also think that it should be taken more seriously; I just pointed out that in my opinion there are several worse, more unfair serves around pro levels.
I don't play ping pong but can you explain what exactly she's doing wrong that makes these services illegal? and how is she getting away with that.. if these services are illegal then why Hina never complained about it? In most of the games Szocs heavily rely on these tomahawk s, it's kind of her TM. @13:19 I think Hina is thinking about this issue right?
