Superbowl Commercial : The Movie
that was good
it was painful
A slow moving yet spot-on review. Thanks
You managed to get through the whole movie? I made it for 30 minutes
Same here! I literally paused it thinking it had been over an hour and then saw it had only been 28 minutes. It was never got another second of play time... I just can't!
Larry David was the real brains behind Seinfeld. Jerry was just there for the ride.
Jerry was a good standup comedian, but he wasn't one of the greats. His acting on Benson in the 80s was very forgettable. If it hadn't been for his sitcom most people wouldn't even remember him. However, I will give him credit for teaming up with Larry David and coming up with some innovative script ideas.
I'm sure Jerry is just devastated by your opinion.
Is a movie bag of skits centered around the same subject matter? Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Unbelievably terrible movie - I can't believe this was even released.
What bothers me is what they got wrong! Everyone is such a cartoon, but even cartoons have a logic and are true to character. I know it's all a parody, but since I am close to Jerry's age, I felt distracted at the mismatch of decades of products referenced. I was thinking - wow that didn't exist yet - to a lot of things. Also having been to Marjorie Merriweather Post's home (one of them) and learning about her, this wasn't even close to her - she didn't even run Post in the 1960's. Post became General Mills and she left in 1958. Just a little thing - she wouldn't have stepped out without a necklace - just a little thing, but the costumer could have at least thrown one on.
I will add... good for some yuks!
The first 20 times I saw this movie, I didn't think it was funny. But the next 30 times I saw it, it made me realize how much I wish Dr Kevorkian was still alive. I know, watching this movie 50 times seems pretty silly, but I guess that's how much I love cereal. Can I have a dollar?
I just subscribed. This is one hell of a review. What do you do for a living where you are able to deliver a very high quality movie review like this one?
Are you new to KZhead? You seem easily impressed.
Same. This movie almost made me want to make my own you tube chanel
solid review. Like the vibes of the channel sir. Keep it going.
The movie was poorly written. Jerry co-wrote it with three other guys.
Great review! This movie reminds me of a woman I once knew. She had beautiful hair and gorgeous brown eyes. Her smile was beamed, her flawless complexion was stunning, and her figure was very nice. Separately, her features were really quite spectacular, collectively, however....well, not so much. Same here: great actors, great subject matter, great potential, but....well, it's a show about nothing.
I saw the trailer and thought it s--ked.....still love the Brown sugar and cinnamon Pop Tarts though
I watched about 5 minutes and really tried to like it and get into it. It is 5 minutes I'll never get back.
Yeah…..it was bad. Really bad. Embarrassingly bad.
Agreed.
Great review Tom
Got any merch yet?
I haven't had Apple Jack's in forever
Kinda pointless to debate whether somebody is funny. It's like debating whether green is a good color (it is) or Scarlett Johansson is a good actor (she's not). It's subjective. And my subjective take is that Jerry Seinfeld is unfunny as hell.
Hello Tom 👋 David here I been a movie buff for over fifty years and I really liked you and your channel, I was thinking to myself wow! The gentleman is way above average, he could go into acting if he wanted to, then I read your description and it said you are already a actor, so that explains it all lol 😂. I really liked your style and review until you talked about the insurrection scene. I was so disappointed ☹️ I thought a lot about your quote from Jerry as you like to call him. I just don’t think it was funny and not necessary to make the film. Just from a filmmaking point of view it takes you out of the nostalgia of the movie of the 1960’s that I love. But the most important thing is it is disrespectful to the 7 people who lost their lives in related deaths and the others who were injured. All he had to do was have a generic protests and riot scene and we wouldn’t have to have this conversation. All the best and see you at the movies 🍿
Thank you David for your comments and I agree with you. The protest scene, as shot, was unnecessary and a cheap gag. I believe the insurrection and the loss of life is a terrible moment in our history and I do wish the movie would’ve chosen not to take that route. You’ve given me pause to reflect and remember. Thank you again for taking the time to give your thoughts. Peace. Always. Peace.
@@thetombottelsenshow Thank you so much for your kind words! I have received a lot of compliments on my comments on KZhead and Facebook, so sad 😞 All the best!
...so this is product placement like he did on his show for advert $ only he made a "movie" out it???
_What's the deal with Jerry Seinfeld? Is he an actor, a director, a standup comedian, a voiceover artist??? Is he funny? Or is he just silly? Nobody seems to know!!!_
Hahahaha! Well said Sir!
I was long gone after five minutes. The film was as funny and amusing as a hernia.
Hahaha!!! Well said!
lesson: Comedians aren't funny. Writers are funny.
Larry David is both and HE is funny. Seinfeld was never funny.
What happens when fame allows someone to fall flat on his face in something he never should have been allowed to do. Love Seinfeld the comedian and tv star…know when to stop Jerry.
6:53 I'm sure you know that isn't true and you were speaking off the cuff. Big name stars and big money are thankfully not prerequisites to making a good movie.
Without ever seeing it, that movie's gotta suck.
Might have worked better going the “Airplane” route and hire serious dramatic actors instead of comedians.
Yes, it would not have done well theatres because the majority of all ages just want another MI and super heroes movie, including old dudes like you who attempt to be edgy and knowledgeable. To who? Shameless, Deaners and The Man Who Loved His Cat. LMAO
Seinfeld is not funny. Larry David is funny.
I enjoyed it, its not Shakespeare people its a pop tart movie
Unforgivable. I gave it 20 minutes which was 19 1/2 minutes too long.
Amy Schummer ruined this movie. Imagine someone good in that part? Also, the dumpster kids were unwatchable. Bill Burr and Kyle Dunnigan were the best part. Writer Spike Ferestein said this "movie" is just a long episode of Seinfeld. This is a bad 10th season of that series.
i could only bear about 40 minutes of the movie it just… wasn’t funny i maybe chucked once or twice
I actually loved it! I watched with my 11 year old boy though so that may help? I really enjoyed it though. Was so silly and isn't that the point?
Amy Schumer- Big Nope
her movie with goldie hawn was actually very funny.
@@mst3kpimp i think she's extremely unfunny, she steals material, and she's a horrible person.
................unfrosted unfunny!
The movie is beyond terrible. Who green lit this crap? Didn’t even know it was possible for a movie to suck in so many levels… ugh
you are right about stand-ups being awful actors......Ron White is one....great stand up, lousy actor
Robin Williams was the exception.
@@JewandGreek He could do stand-up, comedy and drama....Dude was amazing!
One of the worst movies EVER! Personally, I never thought Seinfeld was funny. He strikes me as an unfunny, pompous, egomaniac. This movie proves my point.
The lines in this movie aren't zingers. They're gags. Jerry Seinfeld considers everything he does meaningless. His tv show was deliberately about nothing. This is a movie about a joke he told a while back, filled with observations he's made since he started as a comedian and his life-long obsession with breakfast. Almost every single line is a reference to something. The Mad Men scene incorporated every pitch from the show in 5 minutes. From that point on, I was hooked. BTW, almost no "made for tv movie" was a comedy. They were dramas about serious and usually controversial subjects.
I think the movie was supposed to be a silly comedy that was light at a time of morose self indulgent woke crap
eeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Amy Shoesmell
