    • Yeah instead they build " statues" in the name of "tourism " .Out of around 1300 monuments in India only less than 50 are monetised .If they could have concentrated on boosting tourism instead of making a giant statue for politics ,it would have been much better.

  • I love this list. Indian political pseudo-secularism has made it so that the Ajanta caves, Meenakshi Amman Temple, Somnath, Hampi, Chidambaram, like half of Kumbakonam and Odisha have been overlooked by India's own tourism department. It's pretty weird that a Persian tomb is one that has taken precedence over incredibly intricate and much older architecture that is still alive and in use today. The Chidambaram Temple is spectacularly well constructed. The architectural layout is meant to model the layout of the universe and it's far older than even the Meenakshi Amman Temple. All of these structures are at risk of falling into ruin because of government oversight. An uptick in international attention can help put some pressure to preserve them!

Most of the temples have a Mosque or Church musroomed around them, playing azan all day next to a Hindu pilgrimage site, and the you have Periyar statues next to temples just to irritate pilgrims proclaiming "worship of god is foolish'. Wake up, Dravidian supremacists are destroying tamil Nat's pristine Hindu traditions in the name of pseudo secularism.

The landscape around the monasteries is truly breathtaking, it feels like the mountains are in the wrong place, since there are no similar mountains around. The white temple is a very artistic creation, but it was very touristic. For your Thailand trip: I recommend going to the north of Thailand, since there are less tourists and better food as in the south. We spent some time in Chiang Mai, which was one my favorite cities we visited in our trip.

  • Next time when someone says Taj Mahal is India's face. Tell them to read some history. The whole list could be filled with only Hindu Temples (even when thousands of them were destroyed). But it was the Congress's Muslim appeasement which gave Taj Mahal so importance and appealed to 7 wonders committee to include Taj Mahal

      @jaybirdfly149@jaybirdfly1495 жыл бұрын
    • @ Julia P. Only people like you domt care. The reason is that you simply know practically nothing about the extent to which the really impressive history of Hindus has been deliberately suppressed by the Indian govt (as well as the western world) for a very long time. Learn some history first before calling someone a Hindu fanatic.

It is build up of granite but the city doesn't have any granites around few kilometers.. The feather on the cap is it's tomb stone which is 80 ton of stone and it's still a mystery how they lifted it to the top of the monument which is such a tough deal.. Google it

  • I think going on a wildlife tour in Africa is so under appreciated. I know there are a good amount of tourists that do this, but the majority of the world would definitely not pick Africa as their #1 choice for tourism. I visited Kenya and South Africa for a few weeks and seeing all of this wildlife so up close really gives you some perspective. Humans lived in these "inhospitable" lands for an unfathomable amount of time, and it is amazing to see that humanity has evolved from worrying about a pack of lions to worrying about whether their instagram post got enough likes. Really makes you appreciate life more.
