  • I have two strong opinions about TS4: 1. Even though it is technically better animated, I hate how cartoonish it looks. Previous Sims games all went for realism. The textures and proportions in TS4 just look off. 2. A colour wheel really does do a world of difference and the lack of it bothers me a lot. There are so many times a piece of clothing or furniture is just one shade from being the perfect match and it's SO ANNOYING. In TS3 you could do so much with so little just by changing texture, colour and adding accessories. But instead we have to chose from the pre-selected (often ugly IMO) options.

  • Every Sims game had cars, the carpool, and school bus except for Sims 4. Not only that, the police car bringing home naughty teens (Sims 2), the fire truck, the maid car, the nanny car, the exterminator car all ARRIVING at your house happened in CLOSED WORLD Sims 1 & 2. I don’t know where this logic cars can only exist in an open world comes from. In fact cars on a closed world help as it kinda fed the illusion sims were ‘traveling’ during the loading screen.

    • @@robertbonds6680 But Sims 1 had cars, the car pool, the taxi, the school bus, etc. There’s a difference between the game having cars as transportation (that sims are required to use to travel, ie taxi and carpool) and OWNABLE cars (that Sims can own on there own lot). Every Sims game had USEABLE car systems sims used to travel around the world in (ownable or not) EXCEPT Sims 4. Sims 2 was the First ownable car system, but cars were always used by Sims. Including in Sims 1.

  • Electronic Arts noticed that people buy addons and content packs, regardless of their quality. They literally force Maxis to create bad content. It's cheap, easy and quick to develope. Imagine animating your pram.. Haha! Costs too much money and most people don't care, buy shit anyway. It's just that simple and unfortunately, this will not get better.. only worse. Far... worse.

  • I had to stop playing the sims 4 after a few days because it felt so boring to me. the thing i loved most about the sims 3 was the different traits each sim could have and how it affected their behavior and their available actions. when i was playing the sims 4, i noticed that the traits only seemed to affect their mood. i also hated how the aspirations gave you an additional trait to help with the aspiration. like why can’t i have a sim who is set up to fail their goal like you could do in TS3? i loved trying to achieve lifetime wishes with traits that don’t help at all with reaching the wish 😭 i agree with everything in your video as well! i had high hopes for TS4 but unfortunately i just had to go back to playing TS3

  • There are many issuses with the sims 4, but something that annoyed me so so much recently is how sims behave... I created families based on a story that I wrote when I was like 14 haha. Creating the sims was easier than in the sims 3 BUT their relatiohsips seemed like they didn't matter. Many characters were supposed to be enemies and I made them that using a cheat, but also by just playing with them. Whenever I changed a family that I was playing with at the time their relationships would get better. It wasn't supposed to be happening. Also, when I made them go out somewhere and they met their enemy there, they would just hang out and be friendly. This wasn't happening in ts3. When I made sims enemies in ts3. if they met each other they would FIGHT. That's not happening in ts4, the game seems to be completely ignoring the relationships and whatever story I try to create. I play without mods, I didn't try anything yet and I don't plan doing it. It's horrible how we need to add so much more to the game (mods, dlcs) to make it good.

The EA app kept wiping out my saved games and all cc and mods, it would periodically delete them. I literally never have this problem with 3. 3 works perfectly on my computer. What's funny is that, whenever my 4 games got erased, I just... didn't care. That's how uninterested i was. I just stopped playing 4 and exclusively play the Sims 3 Supernatural xp now 😂

  • I grew up with The Sims (playing Sim City prior). I can find so much that I love about TS1-3, but not so much about TS4, aside from building and CAS (although more limited than TS3). TS1 overall is still the most challenging in the series. IMO, it also has the best Magic System (even though TS2 does have more spells), as well as, the most negative consequences. TS2 is my personal favorite, as it added far more depth, introduced Aging, Weekdays (allowing for days off from work/school), and Genetics (the most comprehensive and realistic system to date). While it still had Personality Points and Interests, it introduced Aspirations (TS2:FT allowed for Secondary Aspirations, along with Hobbies), including Benefits, Rewards, Wants/Fears and Lifetime Aspiration Goals. TS2 also expanded on the Chemistry (& Attraction) System (while still allowing for one-sided relationships), added in the ability to become BFs and BFFs. Cars (TS2:NL) became driveable, and businesses could be owned and operated (TS2:OFB), not confined to just one venue type, as in its successors. With an integrated Memory System, as well as evolving interests (not just dependent on magazine reading as in TS1), hobbies, skills, Turn Ons/Offs, Reputation (TS2:AL), Playable Occults/Hybrids (almost every EP), etc., TS2 has the most in-depth and diverse Personalities of all the Mainline Games (including TS3, with all packs installed: 99 traits). Gameplay mechanics are better animated and detailed, cutscenes are so iconic, game physics are more noticeable (especially hair and water physics). Also, TS2:AL introduced the first semi-open world with the ability to visit neighbors in any type of rental unit on said lot, without loading screens. Overall, it is still my personal fav❣ TS3 introduced an entirely open world, whereby you can not just visit every neighbor (without loading screens), but can explore nearly every nook and cranny, and even live off the grid, if you want❣ Although most Occults could no longer be hybrids, it did allow for them to made in CAS (TS3:SN), and most of them were far more fleshed out and more in-depth. Story Progression was added in, as the entire World/s aged along with your Sims. Traits and Moodlets were added in, but did not evolve multidirectionally as they did in the previous games, but definitely do far better than TS4's (even adding in the Emotions). TS3:P allowed us to play as our pets, but dropped the ability for them to get jobs (although, all the minor pets available more than make up for that). Horses, Unicorns, Fairies, Playable Genies, SimBots, Plumbots, and Aliens with actual Powers (and their Spaceships), were all awesome additions. Gardening and Fishing being introduced in the basegame is just chef's 💋❣ Every EP is just jam packed (as its predecessors), and although the Store definitely showcased EA's greed, I was fortunate enough to get to own it all for free (with the exception of a few worlds not available for SimPoints), by watching ads they used to offer. The ability to customize clothing and objects with the Color Wheel and CAP, allows us all to make our Worlds and Sims unique. While I do prefer TS2's built in CAW tool (just for its ease of building), TS3:CAW allows for far more detail. I do still love playing TS3, but could not do so without a powerful gaming computer with a high quality graphics card (plus, a lot of RAM). Also, mods are needed just to fix bugs, glitches and optimization. To be fair, TS2 needs them too, but TS1 has very few bugs and glitches. Overall, TS3 is my 2nd fav of the mainline series❣ As for TS4, I rarely play, so I do not wish to dunk on it, as it is my least fav to play of all The Sims games (including spinoffs). Instead, I will admit that I do like building (its easy), as well as, the push/pull in CAS and the ability to choose clothing/hair/acc from either of the genders available (mix and match), along with the ability to add details to represent all groups. Because I do not own a lot of DLC (unlike its predecessors), I do not experience as much lag as TS3, but more than TS1 and TS2, with all packs installed. I do have to use mods more for enjoyment, as well as fixing broken content, but I am not a fan of the emotion system, as it just makes sims all seem bipolar, when going from one room to the next. I do like the vampires (I think they are the best in the series) and like the werewolf Lore (not a fan of their appearance though). I do like that they added back in Agnes Crumplebottom, as well as adding on to her Lore. Lastly, if I were a young child (like I was when playing TS1 for the first time), I would have probably thought TS4 is the best, as the others offer more challenging gameplay, and are a bit trickier to get to run on modern computers. So, I do understand the appeal to Gen A and Z, but to me, TS4 is not a life simulator, but an overpriced DLC Simulator.

    • I can old get Sims 3 to work on an old Win 10 computer with mods, my Win 11 computer doesn’t like it. So no, its not an excuse. The easiest thing to open and play on a modern computer is Sims 4. Its not a better GAME but that isn’t the point. Cause I love the whole series do I literally have working versions of all 4 sims games, sure. But its not an excuse when there are HUNDREDS of variables that can affect a game working or not working well on someone’s computer and not every computer player knows how or wants to use mods, especially considering those new to mods and modding are the most vulnerable to bad information and downloading bad mods. Don’t be a mod elitist. If I hadn’t kept and refurb my Win 10 mini pc and cleaned it entirely just as my Sims 1/Sims 3 machine both of those games wouldn’t work for me on the newer Win 11 PC I use for current era games.

    • @@TheMetalValkyrie The lot system is way different from 2. For all intents and purposes, Sims 2 is truly closed in Live mode. The end of your lot is the end of the lot. There is no neighborhood access in live mode. Your sim cannot go any further than the lot while loaded into that lot. It is genuinely, closed lot. Sims 4 is technically semi open neighborhood as you can not only access your house and lot, but as many open area in the neighborhood as the map maker allows, the ONLY thing you can’t access without dealing with a loading screen is someone else’s lot. You can actually run around the whole neighborhood as long as you don’t actually knock on anyone else’s door. It’s basically one step up from Sims 2 and one step down from Sims 3, which is ironic since it is Sims 4. They are also super opposite in map control, I can put down as many lots in Sims 2 as I want and edit litterally everything in the neighborhood down to the terrain. Not to mention make your own maps and as many sub-hoods as you can dream up. You can’t alter anything on a Sims 4 map outside the lot, can’t add lots, can’t edit anything outside the lot. Sims 4 gives you access to areas outside the lot, but restricts any editing outside the lot, Sims 2 does the litteral opposite….lets you edit everything outside the lot, throw down lots anywhere you want and as many as you want on the neighborhood map, but had no free roam outside said lot in Live mode.
