I love that your husband builds such beautiful, functional, simple furniture.
He’s amazing! It’s such a valuable skill especially when I see the price of furniture that’s not even made out of real wood 🫣
I wonder if painting your shelving brackets the wall colour. It would show off the wood more and give a more floating appearance
That's a wonderful idea! Now if only you could help me convince my husband 🤣 Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
I actually feel the wall brackets looks beautiful and add character. Your home is beautiful ❤
@@kausarimukadam2435 I agree that the heavy natural element of metal is cool, but the black brackets are the main cutter behind her. Colouring them the wall paint would keep a light airy quality and show the beautiful wood grain shelf’s. To each their own with style but she’s mentioning negative space and the 10 black brackets steal the show.
❤ My robot vacuum’s name is Roombi and he does a great job cleaning. I like that we both refer to our vacuums like real people ☺️
She’s my favorite and I’m so grateful for all she does 🤣
I also don't use a lot of wall decor either, but when I do I find that larger pieces are less distracting to me on the wall , for instance I have an old large gold antique mirror , its more of a focal piece like furniture but keeps the floor clear .❤
Love it! That sounds beautiful ❤️❤️
Was thinking about limiting number of objects but not “visual patterns”! I learn from every video- thank you
Aww I’m so glad I could help 🤗 thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
Thank you! I thought my entryway was pretty minimal, but after this video, i took down all the things that weren’t functional and coulf be hidden away in drawers and it felt so much clear! Ahh i love not having visual clutter but u love to decorate. Its a process, thanks for sharing!
Definitely is a process and a discovery of yourself and your needs ❤️❤️ Thanks so much for sharing!
I always look at the black shelving brackets more than the things on the shelves. They always get my attention the most. Floating shelves would be nice.
haha it's so funny and insightful getting other peoples opinions because I don't even notice them anymore, but I'm always here! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! ❤️❤️
I'm new to minimalism, but very quickly enjoying the benefits. Your videos are very uplifting and encouraging. You are very wise! I wish I'd known 20 years ago, what you have already understood!
Aww thank you 🤗❤️❤️ I’m so happy to share what I’ve learned ❤️ life is too short and beautiful to waste
♥I like your idea of lowering the TV. You could even rehang it so it looks like it's sitting on the shelf to make it appear more purposeful. I know you're already good at taking any negativity with a grain of salt because you're so sure of what is calming and enjoyable to you but I also want to assure you that there are those of us watching who also like the industrial look of the shelf brackets and the minimalist aesthetic throughout your home. You have a beautiful home and I thank you for sharing it with us!
Aww thanks! Great ideas! We will get around the rehanging the tv hopefully in the next couple weeks or over the summer when my husbands job slows down 😍 thanks for the ideas and your kindness ❤️❤️
Thanks for the tips Becky, they were really helpful and thought provoking, I especially like the idea of hushing a room and having simple, multifunction easy to clean and move furniture 😀
So glad to help ❤️❤️ the easy to clean and move furniture is my favorite too! So many years of having to get help to move even our coffee table or I had to get cleaners to clean the couches never again 👏🤣
Your house is very calming!
Thanks so much 🤗❤️❤️
My husband does woodworking too! ❤ He made our kitchen table ❤
That is awesome! We are so lucky! My husband made our dining room table too ❤️❤️❤️
Love your channel ❤
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are in a rental here in Australia and we are not allowed to put anything on the walls. I love it now. I do wish I could put a mirror up but that’s just how it is when it’s not my house.
I know when those choices are not yours to choose it’s difficult but I’m sure it is very peaceful not having to dust and manage wall decor ❤️❤️
I have natural shelving with metal brackets in our home as well but the one thing I did was to paint the screw heads black so they didn’t stand out…but I think I am just too particular🤣. Love your home and your videos!
I love that idea!! Y’all are all so smart and it’s great to hear other peoples opinions ❤️❤️
I love your sofa! I’ve hushed a room or a space before I knew it was called that also!
Hahah I love it ❤️❤️ thanks it’s the most basic simple sofa I’ve ever had and I love that!! No chemicals and you just use a little soap and water and it’s clean 👏😍 thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
Love the video Becky. Great tips! I would love to reduce some visual clutter in my home. It is a very slow process. On a different note.. just wondering if you may be able to share an updated video about your daughter's toys/collections? I understand if you would rather keep it private. I have a daughter the same age as yours and she loves to collect stuff. I'm always looking for ways to keep the inventory down but still allow enough autonomy for my children in the decision making process. ❤
Thanks for sharing!! ❤️❤️ So I just finished doing a big organization day and decluttering of my daughter toys and crafts and turned my brother's old room back into our playroom and my office ❤️That Video is coming out Friday!
@@minimalease Oh awesome! Looking forward to it! ☺️
Great thumbnail
Thanks ❤️
I saw „Hushing the room“ on The Minimal mum podcast with Myquillyn Smith. It´s a great idea.
Yes definitely ❤️❤️❤️
thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Aww so glad you enjoyed it ❤️❤️ thanks for sharing!

Nice job

I agree 100%

I have….to decorate with NEUTRAL & EARTH colored items as well!!! It is….very CALMING!!! I only use color at Christmas time, but it’s still minimal!!!🤍🤍🤍
Love it! Those are my favorites bring me so much calm ❤️❤️
Thank you
Thanks for watching!! ❤️❤️
Love your house, mine is even more minimalist 😄💟
Love it ❤️❤️
Hi! Would love to know the paint color on your living room
Behr ultra silver Merlin ❤️
Hello from Portugal. Really love your channel and totally relate with your lifestyle. When is your birthday?
Aww thank you so much ❤️❤️ my birthday is in October
Hi! I love the shelves you have in your living room. May I ask where you get them? I love your home
Thanks so much! My husband made them but we did get the brackets on amazon which I think I linked for you below in the description ❤️❤️😍
❤❤
Thanks for sharing friend ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for sharing friend! ❤️❤️

Thanks for sharing!! 🤗😍
Definitely negative space and letting the items in your rooms breath is important to me too. I'm very much into the Scandi vibe which embrace both of these.
Love it and same ❤️❤️ when I went to Sweden and Denmark their sense of style and simple form in most of their furniture stores and cafes was so calming and inviting to me ❤️❤️
My neural colours are purple and turquoise lol 💜🩵
I love turquoise ❤️❤️
in which pp you edit your videos ❤❤
I use capcut pro just started using it around 2-3 months ago before that I was using canva but I like capcut a lot better ❤️
I LOVE negative space!!!!!
Same 😍
Negativ space, do you mean empty space, empty walls?
Yes 😍
What about kids toys? We have a small child and his toys are bright and all over the place. It seems like your daughter has all her toys in her room or that they are cleverly hidden somewhere? I feel like it’s hard to relax because there are toys all over.
We had them all in her room for a while and now that my brother has moved out I just made a video about moving them all into our new work and play room ❤️❤️ it’s coming out on Friday
Oooh that’s exciting, I’m looking forward to watching it. Kids toys are a huge visual stimulator in my environment, I’d love to figure out how to reduce it without my son having no toys in the living room.
My mother needs help. She's a level eight hoarder.
❤️ It is so hard to watch those we love struggling with keeping so many things and we don't feel like we can really help them. Do you have any idea why she feels the need to keep so many things? If she would let you help her even with a small drawer maybe it would open a door for you to help her more ❤️❤️I wish you and your Mom all the best!
@@minimalease I didn't expect anyone to respond to this. It was said with a hint of sarcasm, even if my mother does in fact have a serious hoarding problem. Actually no. None of us have been able to pinpoint an actual reason. Even giving away things for a good cause, is often somewhat problematic. It makes no difference how well you explain it to her, she still doesn't want to give away or throw away things. Luckily, at this point she has so many things in so many places, that she has forgotten what she has and where, and some of us are taking action, simply throwing away heaps of junk, much of it never used and still wrapped in plastic. My mothers favourite hoarding item is dictionaries! It makes no difference if she speaks the languages, or how many of them she has. All of them have to be kept! Even if I do think she understands that they have zero value, and you actually have to pay to get rid of them at a recycling center, she still ''needs'' them. She takes offense when I clean around the house she lives in, even if it's already way beyond a point where one could consider having guests over. At times I still get things done, but she tries to slow me down by any means possible. She was in the hospital for a couple of weeks last year and I went through junk for about 30 hours. Even if it almost looked livable when she came back, she says that I ''destroyed'' the place and that she can't find anything, even if the complete opposite is true. I found things that she had been searching for, for a number of years. Thanks =:)
Does your husband appreciate the aesthetic of your home?🥰
Yes! ❤️He's not much for decoration and decor and would classify himself as someone who likes modern design so when I got rid of all my farmhouse decor and Knick knacks he was overjoyed 🤣😍
@@minimalease that’s cool! Good for you and him ❤️
@@minimalease Aloha from Kauai 🌺🐳
Perhaps you need to consult a decorator as your home lacks personality. The echo is a sign that you should have more upholstery. Nothing over stimulating here.Even craftsman style can be beautiful.
I enjoy my style and my home the simplicity brings me peace that I never had before. ❤️ we each need different styles and have different necessities so I would never impose my style on anyone else but if you are feeling overwhelmed in your home these are ways to simplify ❤️❤️ if you knew me you would know I don’t need a lot of things to have personality
