    • Current government don't want to build this projekt cause they reached an agreement with german government. Current biggest party in rulling coalition is supported financialy by foundation which belongs to Konrad Adenuaer. l think it's relevant to add that this foundation has strong connections with CDU. People in Poland have voted for current coalition cause previous government was very populistic and they were making a lot of scams. That biggest party in rulling coalition is now even more populistic and it's very clearly they will cancel this project. As a Man who consider myself as patriotic it's very sad something like this is happening and nobody is doing anything with this,cause our elits are so connected with German government at least our premier Donald Tusk.

  • Greetings from Poland. CPK is one of rare situations when people really want this investment, some like 80% in recent pools, people from all backgrounds, that is also rare in Poland. I personally have hope that government will finally start to make this real. And funny thing, airport aren’t most important thing here, rail roads are, and this is reason why people want it. From 1990 to 2020 Polish rail roads degraded heavily in favor of car roads, now we’ve one of bests network in Europe, time to make train transportation great again.

    @Dadgrammer@DadgrammerАй бұрын
    • Both high-speed rail network and airport are important, although each solution is needed on a different level. The airport solves the problem of passenger and cargo transfers flying to Poland in Western Europe, while the railway solves the problem of transportation exclusion and creates new connections between cities. Additionally, the number of people traveling by train increases by several percent each year, so the railway requires modernization to accommodate the growing number of passengers. Meanwhile, the airport will provide home airport for the LOT Airlines, allowing them to finally dictate their prices at the airport (this is the practice of every major airline)

    • I hope Poland gets this to, wanting to keep old two airports are like a putting on band-aid and refurbishing them is waste of potential. I would recommend closing the old ones and redevelopment the land for mixed use and parks. If you try to keep all the above it won't thrive. This great investment for Poland's future and air travel is stay. They look at the cost, now fail to the financial benefit. And if the redevelop the land of old airports, this creates more housing, and livable place for Warsaw.

Here we built Mirabel in the 70s but half assed the project and never finished most of the transport links to it which caused it to eventually fail and be closed, and we still regret doing so to this day because things would be much better had the transit links been finished.

  • I think the High Speed Railways are definitely needed. People (me :)) tend to underestimate the vastness of Poland. Poland has basically three kind of non local roads: mostly excellent and new highways, single carriageway in each direction expressways and single carriageway in each direction national roads. For me as an outsider, it seems that Poland doesn’t have or had urban planning laws so national roads have houses, shops and factories on both sides of the road and that creates traffic that’s both dense and slow. We often do two hours over a stretch of 80 km. Investing in Poland’s transport network is necessary whether it is in rails, roads or airports.

Not only Poland will be more important, but also: •Germany will have an rival when it comes to the mega transport hub in central europe •Proper Polish HSR will be started by upgrading several existing Mainlines including CMK line and even reconnect some places by railways for the first time in few decades. •In case Russia went nuts and WW3 was conventional, CPK woudl massively help supplying the east European front. •Entire central Europe gets another mega transport hub, but also part of east Europe as well.

  • Hey polish viewer here! Great video and nice storytelling but i want add extra context to CPK: - CPK is the huge opportunity to more evenly develop Poland since times of Partitions (XVII centry and Industrial Revolution) and World Wars (both were fought in polish lands and devastated our land), to this day we have phrase "widać zabory" - "you can see partitions" because the 3 Empires that partition us have different level of industrialization and want to strengthen their influence in their part of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and not between the partitioned land. - CPK also opens new opportunities for Łódź and its Lodz voivodeship, Polish 4-th largest city and the most forgotten and neglected region of Poland (one of polish leaders one said "Poland is like bagel/pączek - plenty of dough on the edges and nothing in the middle). - One of the Polish economists working in Washington Marcin Piątkowski see's chance in building "New Industrial Heart of Europe" in the space between Łódź and CPK (if it materialized in near future). Hope this clarified to you, dear viewer, some polish point of view and whole debate that is around it 😉

FinnAir has been busy serving transit trafic from Asia for years. Okecie Warsaw has reached limits of expansion and has no further growth potential. New government bows to demands of German interest. It is already blocking expansion of container shipping port in Szczecin to prevent competition with German ports on Baltic shore and North See shore. Then I would turn the old Airports into urban development, at least one urban development project would honor the past by being an Airpark (catering to smaller aircrafts like private jets) the rest would mixed areas. Neighborhoods would be named after, "airplane areas", I also recommend a jet age theme hotel. The Airpark development would include parks. I know it would be for the Polish people do give up these airports. But I think this land could be used better. So, to honor it I propose Air Park and Development Project. Modlin can be modernized to max 8 milion passangers,cause it is surrounded by National park. Estimates by PWC on 2040 or 2035 are that the trafic only in aglomeration of Warsaw will be 40 milion passangers,so 28+8 milion is not 40 milion. Estimates done by PWC on 2011 has indicated that Polish air trafic in 2023 or 2022 will be lower than it actually was( they underestimated the results by around 15% ,and of course they didn't count the pandemic). In Poland we only serve 17% of air cargo which come to us and which we send abroad. The remaining 83% is operated by Germany and France. That 17% give to Poland treasury 4 bilion zł only in excise so it's like 900 milion € per year. That project will cost National treasury around 15 bilion €. Whole project will cost 34-45 bilion €. Do this 19-30 bilion € will be provided by private sector and funds from EU. PWC Estimates that only from excise thanks to this project to 2060 Poland will gain 200 bilion zł(46 bilion €).

Just two days after this video was published, there was news that they are planning to ditch the rail component as well. Contrary to what was stated in the video, the hub is of medium size compared to other hubs in Western Europe. Notably, countries like Germany and France have several hubs each, whereas Poland has none. It's unbelievable how economically illiterate our current government composed of ex-commies is, and how easily people here are misled by urban populists and demagogues. If you want to do business in Poland, just start another airline like Ryanair, offer subpar service, and regional governments will even pay you. Now, with our 'modern' government dismantling the central anti-corruption institution, your chance is coming. The list of all these advantages is much longer.

When was the last time that a Polish rocket was launched into space from Polish territory? I am not even aware where a space launchpad in Poland is. Both Iran and North Korea know how to do it - they have launchpads, they build satellites, launch them into space using their own rockets, they have their own ballistic missiles. So - yes, the truth is that both Iran and NK do belong to the advanced nations club. As for competencies required for nuclear triade - or even one component of it. The number of actual deployed systems doesn't really matter. Much higher are fixed costs related to such programs. To have nuclear weapons - you need to have a space program, a ballistic missile program, you need to know how to enrich uranium, just to name a few things. You will need to have many research institutions, universities and university chairs working just for that. Obviously, such R&D in this volume is not only costly, but requires many people. This Airport would not only be a good thing for NATO and Poland, but when completed could massively help transportation in Europe. I really think they need to make it.

Unfortunately, the current government is trying to desecrate the years of work of previous governments (from different political parties) because Germany would lose out. Yes, I want to say that the current Polish government, headed by Donald Tusk, is not fully guided by the good of its own nation, putting foreign interests ahead of it. The same will probably happen with projects to build nuclear power plants in Poland.

As just having one super airport is beneficial like aircraft super carriers of the USA but in like ships airports cant move making targeted so having two alternative backups will help spread risk.
