Many of my students are relearning French after years or decades of not practicing. When you take a break from learning and using your French, it’s normal to sound a little bit outdated or old-fashioned in your French conversations. If that’s you, don’t worry - there’s an easy fix!
If you want to keep your French fresh and relevant, it’s important to introduce some French slang to your vocabulary knowledge. In today’s lesson, I’ll introduce you to some modern and up-to-date colloquial expressions that you can use in your French conversations, no matter your age or experience level.
Take care and stay safe.
😘 from Grenoble, France.

I am an anglophone living in Quebec City. These youtubes are invaluable in keeping up with current expressions in France, many, if not most, of which are not common in Québec. So, thank you so much.
C'est vachement bien!
Oh my goodness, you are SO helpful, thank you so so much
Thank you for posting this channel. I wish you were my French teacher back in grammar in middle school. Well I can read most French I have very little speaking ability but you seem to be changing that. I have already recommended your channel to quite a few friends. Merci.
Please continue with expressions like zhese
Super video, merci Geraldine !
Très magnifique et très important e superbe themè e leçon du week end et samedi
". . . . or is it?" ahaha, very funny ending for se prendre la tête!
Salut Géraldine, Merci pour cette leçon sur ces expressions. En ce qui concerne "kiffer", une autre expression est "kiff-kiff" comme dans le célèbre livre "kiff-kiff demain"
Thank you very much for the nice lesson! I learned a couple of new expressions today!
c'est vachement bon vlog! Merci
Merci! Voter video est tres utile
Merci!
Génial! Merci beaucoup.
Thank you.
Merci
Thanks Géraldine👍
La semaine dernière, j'ai regardé le film Paris nous appartient des années 1960 et j'ai reconnu d'un coup que la plupart de mon argot reste dans cette époque-là, rohlala...
Je me prends la tête!
Thank you!!! Watching French TV series one can see these expressions very often, and it's very confusing!!! Also, please, make: coller, decoller! Merci!
This is great! Will Geraldine be treating us to a video about her favourite books from 2022? Or is she having a break this year? Many thanks! Heather
I love these videos from Geraldine.
Just say the French language changes every five yearsm which it does, and you got your French lessons vied for in the rest of your life., dear teacher.
Do the Suisse use verlan ?
Maintenant, J'ai besoin que vous m'explique le mot "hardcore"... mdr...
i love your videos, thanks for all of them. and I love your style of presentation, it is excellent. The only thing I find strange is your lipstick. I don't usually comment on appearance, it's none of my business. But I will say one small thing. You are a very good looking woman who needs no embellishment. A little less lipstick would look better.
Salute
"Salute" is Italian
Greg Frite was the guy for explaining?/songifying? new expressions. What's he doing these days?
✨❤️✨👍👍👍👍👍
On n’utilise plus “difficile”, au lieu de “chaud”?
J'ai essayé d'apprendre le français
12:27 why use “lui” and no “ se”?
se would be their own head .. bothering themselves. Il s'est pris la tête toute la soirée. In this case he ( il) was bothering her ( lui ) Il lui a pris la tête toute la soirée. Lui is an indirect object in this case.
@@aletarossi-thomas8757 thanks 🙏
Encore moi. Au lieu de "se planter" on peut dire "se gourer"
I’m currently learning French as I would like to be a missionary one day, channels like this are very helpful. Thank you! May the grace, mercy, and salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all who read this
Ouais... Tous ces mots ou expressions ont au moins 30 ans. "Poser un lapin" et "vachement" ont plus d'un siècle. On fait mieux comme "up to date".
Aïe aïe aïe... Ces expressions "récentes" qui veulent dire 53 trucs différents! C'est comme "du coup"...
Vachement - really? Is she for real or just trying to get us to say this stuff for the amusement of francophones?
Hi Geraldine. Love your work. And if I may assist you with your English a little... "Vocabulary." You pronounce this word flat, without emphasising any syllable, as you might in French. I English, it's more customary to emphasise the "cab." So, "voCABulary", rather than "vocabulary."
