He actually said that he considers himself perfectly capable of standing with Pereira and knocking him out, so he said that Teixeira shouldn't waste time teaching Pereira grappling, but he didn't say he won't wreste

Dumb promise to make. It's Pereira's responsibility to be ready for all of Magomed's skills, not Magomed's to voluntarily not use all of his. He'd be champ on his 2nd or 3rd defense by now if he used all his weapons. He was able to ragdoll and 10-8 Blachowicz with two battered shins imagine what he could've done earlier

Alex's brutal weight cut is like 90% of the reason why he Izzy was able to KO him. Alex's chin is vulnerable at 185. At 205 he is more full and more energy, able to take harder shots. Izzy at 205 is the opposite, he is small. We saw Izzy against Jan. Compare that to how well Alex did against Jan at 205

He got outstruck in 1 and was stumbling on numerous occasions after eating some combinations for Ankalaev. it was a 48-47 in the best situation, but a 48-46 in reality because of that 10-8. A robbery plain in simple. If you want disagree, then explain yourself
@@GradeAmonster Jan out struck Ankalaev in 1, 2, and 3 and Ankalaev had to wet blanket in 4 and 5 because his legs were mangled and destroyed beyond recovery. There was no 10-8 at any point in the fight whatsoever and the only person stumbling was Ankalaev from his legs getting chopped off. The only man that was robbed that night was Jan.

Look, Alex is a great striker. But IMO, his only real challenge has been Jan Blachowicz. Of course we can say Adesanya, but he's also a pure kickboxer type who's half his size. Alex has had some very favourable matchups, striking and grappling wise. I personally believe the likes of Hill and Ankalaev who are more well rounded, not only as grapplers, but also strikers, would beat Pereira candidly.

Alex Pereira might be able to counter-wrestle but Ankalaev is more of a sambo practioner and those guys are adept at ground and pound. Similarly to Islam, Ankalaev will only take you down if he has to knowing very well they don't have Khabib's cardio and top pressure. Save for Merab, very little fighters have the grappling cardio to go forever.

At this point I’d say I’m able to take a better punch from a LHW than Johnny Walker and I’m like 170lbs lol. It was a good punch but Johnny clearly has a bad chin from all the knock outs he’s suffered. He will never be champion regardless of if he has the potential.
