Koenig-Specials world class ❤
I did see lots of 1000 sel in London Park Lane show room in 80's
3:17 - Miami 1000SEL's are covered in cocaine dust.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Most of the 80s New York drug dealers had Mercedes in this style
0:52 i live in Germany and saw an 500 SGS gullwing in the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt i was fascinated by it
i love 80s and yes i lived them XD
Excellent video I do remember seeing these examples in London City in the 80’s and not forgetting the lovely pearlescent glittering paintwork. 10/10 for posting this video👍👍👍
Some beautiful cars there and some truly horrendous ones too. Money cannot buy taste.😂
I think im actually The First for once but nevermind Just Want to Tell you that i really enjoy Your Videos i Love The Nostalgic feeling they have and i Just Love The era and you manage to Bring The passion and Feelings of The Cars across to Your viewers :)
Someone I know just brought a SGS which brought me here. Nice upload
Perfect title! And I agree, the 80's were the epitome of old skool kool. Great video.
Amazing era beautiful cars ❤
Would love to own one of them. For me the most interesting tuning area of all time!
Thanks for your efforts ... great review.. yes following your chanal from Saudi Arabia.. yes some of those 1000sel were sold to richest Arab people some of them under Arabic name too.
Patina Collective has all these cars and more!!!!
These were mostly in the UAE and middle eastern countries, but more than a few made their way to Miami and South Florida in the early 80’s. Ultímate S-class at the time..
This was a great idea for a video. Thanks.
Bruv, your outro? Best ever outro. Music check. Lens hue check. Some "designers" turned an almost ugly car in a monster. My choice was the Zagato models of the w126. Some designers were high on radioactive coke. Sound systems. Nakamichi were the head units in the late 80s early 90s club/sound scene. Paired with alpine speakers. Would be nice if others who have driven or tiden in them to share their experience. 90s was insane in the neck of my woods. Long story short, i got rides in some not so outrageous but also not so powerful "designer" cars in the 90s, and some interior was not the best to look at. Some even more tacky for any price tag, but it was 90s, coke was following through its routes, and those who experienced the obscene spending had a good time and ride. Awesome teenage experiences a little naive back then. Thanx for the video once again. Nice flow to end my night shift. 1luv
ABC and SGS were the best..
Very rare information! Thank yoy
Well that was weird. I'd be happier with my old 420SEL than any of these.
I like them all…as long they have the most beautiful star ⭐️
Awesome video!
Nice and very interesting video full of horribly messed up cars, 9:57 is the only one I like

No mention of Gemballa?!?!
Jankel in England was one of the most famous of these customisrers.
Awensome !!!
I dont know if you mentioned it, but i know that sgs also widend the car itself.
I swear I saw a 1000sel on the back of a low loader about 3 years ago still remember the plate it looked wide asf
Its true, sgs made the w126 wider there is a picture to it
I am trying to find out how to write beni s tuning for there Dashbord maybe they do W124 I already have an ambulance Dashbord for W124 original from a station wagon w124 LHD of course
10000 SEL came in Miami Vice
Yes!!! Mr Mosca ride!!! Since then love these cars!!
What's the name of the track in the background?
It's because it cost twice as much, not because it was twice as good 👍
How would even buy this thing back in the 80s? I could only imagine you had to pick up a magazine or you had to fly to another country to seal the deal.
8:21 song name
Good day sir I want this car red same inside same elf ssc..
I want to know how to get this car please i want to buy
@@najmakw9115 the car probably resides in a very rich person's collection, its very hard to find 100sel nowadays, check out german ebay and other german car selling platforms, they sometimes have tuner cars from the 80s. good luck!
3:12 whells name pls
5:20
3:15 "Most of these cars were sold to the Middle East and coke dealers in Miami." They never had any inhibitions driving around in something really gaudy and tasteless. All other rich people wouldn't be caught dead in these. 4:16 Holy sh*t that's ugly. A Frankenstein's monster of a car (i.e. bits from other cars onto one car body). Ruins the front. Harmonious lines seems to be an alien concept to them. 5:30 A pimp accessory if there ever was one. I sincerely hope the gold was melted down and used for something better later. Before MTV's tasteless extravaganzas pimp was universally a negative word and an insult. TRASCO must be the worst company name ever. Sounds like *Trash-Co* . 9:11 A disaster in the eyes of anybody. Ironic pun intended. AMG shouldn't be mentioned alongside all those CokeTuners, they had genuine racing pedigree and did minimal changes to the bodies of the cars themselves. What they added also to increase traction, improve downforce and optimize the car for sustained speed. The aforementioned "tuners" just tried to add whatever they believed made the car look more outrageous - and outrageous sadly held positive connotations for them rather than embarrassment. Koenig Specials seem to have been utterly obsessed with putting the Testarossa style wide intakes on every single car. They're a bit of an enigma and contradiction since the turbo conversion of the engines themselves were rather good and proved themselves in independent road tests. However the styling is questionable to say the least (that's putting it mildly). Most of it just added drag and made the car slower and more ungainly. Willy Koenig raced cars himself so one would have expected *him* to know better. My guess is he reasoned:"Nah, if we just tune the engines they won't LOOK any faster so just regress back to how we were when we were 13 years old and add as much sh*t we can." Anyways. I'm ironically grateful that abominations such as these "tuners" exist. They're a litmus test of the kind of people you wish to avoid and stay well clear of. Btw, I am a bit puzzled by the comments below who seem to think that these gaudy monstrosities were "cool cars" to whom sarcasm and your tone seem to be lost on. In my country there is a saying:"The last idiot hasn't been born yet." and usually is said when one is surprised to find somebody even lower than one believed there were.
Every design mod is goofy, just stupid, proves the car is oerfect as we say THE ONLY SHAPE THAT EXISTS! even a black grille is wrong. The stereo interior gets rid of any style. 109 lights - stupid. W100 grille just bad. Gold plated instead of chrome wrong too. Trasco did tasteful work, the protuding bumper is in the spirit
utterly ugly cars
